Hey, so did you know the greatest brick-and-mortar hot sauce shop now has an online outlet? In case you didn't feel like driving up to Ogden to peruse this one (which you should still do anyway). Well, yes indeedy, Roger has the site up and active and it's one of the neater things online, if you like hot sauce that is. You can find it at www dot burn your tongue online dot com (remove the spaces, unless Yelp updates the URL, in which case you can follow it more readily there).
Also, I heard there is a secret code that can find on my hot sauce blog that may do really neat things when you plug it into the cart at checkout.
As for this place, one day I will browse the shelves with 700+ sauces on them and not come away with a good couple dozen sauces at a throw...but that day won't be anytime soon. There are also nifty spicy snacks, if you're more into those. Either way, check it out online or in store. Absolutely fantastic still!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 25, 2019Previous reviewEverything still applies in my earlier review, but, by way of update, the shop closed, then came roaring back this year with more selection than ever, as well as displays. Not just hot sauce, but snacks are there as well and Roger has big things planned for this. The location is changed somewhat inside the store (still inside Quilted Bear in Newgate Mall in Ogden), closer now to the cafe, which perhaps makes a certain kind of sense. It is very clean and slick and there is a ton of shelf space devoted to the wares. I'm beyond thrilled as this is by far my favorite spot to get sauces, including many of the excellent online vendors.
Again, if you care at all about hot sauces, this is THE place to go.Aug 14, 2016Previous reviewThis place has a Yelp page finally (sorry, I blame myself for laziness...I should have created one perhaps instead of reviewing the Quilted Bear in Newgate (read that one also), but the ladies at the QB are really nice and deserved a little shine also - I digress) and let me kick it off right. This is the best hot sauce shop in Utah, brick & mortar or otherwise.
Here is where you find your exotic stuff, your Carolina Reaper (current SHU record holder), your Trinidad and Moruga Scorpion sauces, your CaJohn's, your Blair's, your Irazu (one of my personal favorites), your Hellfire, your Heartbreaking Dawns, even to more exclusive stuff like Jak Jeckel and Born To Hula (another of my favorites), though oddly I've never seen Terrapin Station there... You can find more middle of the road stuff and novelty sauces also, naturally, but precious little shelf space is devoted to that respectively. Compare and contrast this to everyone else up and they come up way short.
That aside, the owner is very clearly passionate about this and is going about things the right way. One of the easiest ways to tell this is that stock is rotated. Unlike some other places I won't name, I've never gotten an expired bottle of sauce here. Pricing is also quite fair and reasonable and this is the only one, to my knowledge, doing sampling events. I believe there is also some Farmer's Market interaction, but I don't go to those so can't speak to those specifically.
If you care at all about hot sauce, i.e. are a chilehead (not talking about Frank's or Cholula here) and are Spanish Fork or northward, you should make the drive and go. You definitely won't be disappointed and it's a very cool feeling to hold something so potent in your hand rather than trying to buy based off a label and a crappy picture and sometimes poor description at an online store. This shop definitely deserves your support! - Jun 17, 2019
If you like hot sauce, this is the place to go. You may have seen walls of hot sauce in the past, but these guys have walls of individual columns of hot sauce in their wall. What does that mean? Well instead of having the same flavor take up a ton of space like most places, these guys fit nearly 500 flavors into their space. It's crazy. I thought I was fairly fluent in hot sauce brands (I've got around 30-40 bottles at home), but these guys taught me how young I am.
I spent a bit of time just appreciating the wall before really digging in and trying to figure out how to explain to my wife that I needed at least 3 more bottles of hot sauce. We settled on 2 bottles and then I got 4.
The owner was there and was great to talk with. He made a lot of good recommendations. I ended up getting the Carribean Reef Shark Scotch Bonnet sauce, the CaJohns Serrano sauce, the Ghost Scream, and an Irazu Volcanic Pepper Sauce. The prices were reasonable, and I also got some discount from The Quilted Bear for Memorial Day.
Anyone that is in to hot sauce should make it a point to stop here. If you're still wasting your time on that Cholula, Tapatio, or...heaven forbid...Tabasco, you should do yourself a favor and stop by here. They also do tasting on some Saturdays and seem to be active at various events/farmer's markets, so if you have a chance to meet them there, it's worth it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Romeo F.Salt Lake City, UT3764Jul 9, 2019

Excellent variety of sauces!! They have everything from a mouth full of flavor to burn a whole in your tongue! I find myself checking out what they have almost every weekend.
Also, if you find out when they are doing there sampling days, I Highly recommend checking it out. They are great with helping you find exactly what you are looking for, weather it be some hot wing sauce, or something to make your breakfast unforgettable.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Angela L.MSC, UT01Feb 27, 2020
Seriously the only hot sauce company I will buy from. Thier hot sauce is amazing. I love hot flavoring and they do the right amount. Perfect combo of heat and flavor. Love them especially the Dill sauce, it's amazing on bratwurst.

I absolutely love coming here. The massive selection always has something to gawk at for that new sauce. I love the fact that you're able to sample most of the sauces when there is a sauce sampling. Not only that, but Roger, knows his stuff when it comes to hot sauce and it's always a pleasure to learn about new sauces from him or seeing the love he expresses for hot sauce. 12/10 highly recommend.
