Since Thomas is no longer at this firm, I will update this review. I will also update again pending the closure of my case.

Lisa and her team have been working hard and have done a good job, even when dealing with difficult opposing counsel. I appreciate her team responding so quickly and getting right to the point with the matter at hand.

Less than professional. She claims she deals with divorce cases and she can only do half of the work. I was clear in the initial consultation of my situation where we have 2 homes and 401k that will be divided. Once she has your retainer she tells you will need other lawyers to deal with those parts of the case. Not your 1 stop shop.

Divorce is one of the hardest things you will ever do, and choosing a capable family law attorney is an exceptional challenge of its own. Arm yourself with cold hard reason and save the tears for your therapist. You are going to need all of your critical thinking faculties at hand, despite the fact that you are likely in extreme distress.

I trusted Lisa Bustos and Thomas Just with my future. You will find it evident by the end of this review that Bustos Family Law will, without hesitation, leave your life upended for a handsome profit. In fact, there is no guarantee that you will even be divorced when they are done wringing you dry.

Anger and outrage are often the driving forces behind high-conflict divorce litigation. Bustos Family law will not exercise "client control" as they are morally and ethically bound to do, however. To the contrary, they see dollar signs when their clients are at vicious odds with their exes. At a time when you are on your knees, Bustos will be drawing up paperwork to take out exorbitant lines of credit in your name while assuring you that your settlement will be considerable. This is a blank check for Lisa Bustos's firm, and she and her attorneys will bill against your credit freely and recklessly.

My line of credit ran over $50,000 and Lisa Bustos still had her hand out for more money, right before she directed Thomas Just to withdraw from my case on the eve of final trial. The people who should have been at my side throughout had cut and run when I needed them most. I signed a disadvantageous Mediated Settlement Agreement rather than face final trial alone. My divorce was finished by a friend to whom I also owe attorney's fees now.

The State Bar of Texas investigated both Lisa Bustos and Thomas Just for alleged professional misconduct. The investigations ended in dismissals of my grievances (the Bar's Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel is not a pillar of functionality and lawyers look out for their own). In the meantime, at least two other clients of Bustos Family Law have filed for bankruptcy, or are in the process of filing.

The attorney I worked with there was not experienced and unprepared for meetings. He lacked responsiveness and support. Lisa Bustos called me to explain why he was unprepared, however, when it becomes a pattern of behavior I needed to go elsewhere. I didn't feel supported at all, just what was good for the attorney.

It was honestly a waste of 2 months of my time and I am not happy about it. Divorce is painful enough, don't make it drag out longer with Bustos Family Law.

When negotiating the challenges of a divorce, you need a professional on your team who is knowledgeable, tough, confident, persuasive, compassionate, and caring. Lisa Bustos is all of these and more! She will help make an inherently difficult experience as easy as it can possibly be. Very highly recommend Bustos Family Law!!!

I highly recommend Bustos Law. Lisa was very professional, knew what she is doing and was also very friendly and caring. She took very good care of me and did so in a timely manner, no unnecessary cost.
