Before they will even consider your job, you have to pay $300. This is to get them to go look at the site and provide a bid. I paid that and it took me a few months to get the money together to get the work done. I understand that after a certain amount of time, the circumstances might have changed, but refusing to go back out and verify that without another payment is absurd. Once I told them that I was ready to go, I had to wait another month before they finally told me that it would cost me another $100 to get them out there to verify the original bid, and they had no documentation of the bid other than some scribbled notes from the first visit.

Go elsewhere. These folks aren't worth your time or money.

CONSUMER BEWARE!!! We met with the owner Alan BUTLER who came out to our property to give an estimate on an array of work that we wanted to do on our home. He stated that he requires 75% of the estimate upfront, prior to any work being started. We agreed to two different contracts and then we're told that a $2500 fee would be required for a consultation and design fee for a bathroom remodel, separate from the two contracts that we agreed to do. During our conversation, Alan stated that he wanted to be transparent and have an open line of communication throughout the course of our various projects. We also discussed a third contract for interior painting when everything went downhill. Alan had increased the amount of the third contract and did not communicate openly on the phone, rather via text. The conversation took place on a Friday evening and after going back and forth, I finally picked up the phone and called him. I explained to Alan that after giving him over $13K in upfront fees that his business practices of communication with clients over a text was inappropriate and unprofessional. During the conversation I told Alan that I wanted a full refund of the monies we had provided. I did not feel comfortable going forward after changes to the third contract were made over price and also lack of services he stated would be done and were listed as exclusions in the third contract.
At that time Alan agreed and stated that Chris BUTLER would be calling me on Monday morning to refund the monies. At no time did he state that he would be keeping over $3,600 of our hard earned money without ordering materials or providing any construction services. We phoned BUTLER Construction on Monday after not hearing from Chris BUTLER. She stated during the phone call that she was working on the process and stated she was trying to figure the refund with the credit card. I told her that there should be no problem refunding the full amount of the credit card, since it already had cleared. Chris stated that she was working on it, and at no time stated that 20% of our monies would be kept. She stated she would have the situation rectified by Tuesday. Again, no call on Tuesday until I self initiated a phone call. Finally we were notified that a check would be mailed to us and they would not be refunding the whole amount. Alan BUTLER would not call us back and had his mommy, Chris take care of his business matters. I would hesitate before using this company and also take a ride out to their facilities to check the office out (Dump of a property). Again, CONSUMER BEWARE!!!! This company does not even deserve one star, rather negative stars....

We've use Butler Bros for pretty much all our handy man, repairs, build needs etc. They handle everything at our rental property too. I cant imagine them making a repair and it not fixing the problem. Alan is very thorough during his QC inspections. If its not to his standard, he fixes it.
But he also caters to the customers wishes. If you tell him you just want a temporary, quick fix, he will do that too.
He is easy to reach, communicates with his customers, stays on schedule and has no hidden prices or agendas. We are so confident and comfortable with these guys, if we cant be home, we don't worry. They are trustworthy and clean up after themselves.
We would recommend Butler Bros to everyone. They are a legit, professional, LOCAL business.
Congrats on winning the Best of Bastrop County, well deserved!!!!

Do not use Butler Contracting. We have been waiting months to get a bid for our insurance company for damage from the freeze in February. They charged us $270 twice to come out and assess our situation before they would provide a bid... told us the last time as he was leaving that we would have the bid by the end of the week... that was May!! Understanding that they are busy we tried to be patient, but stayed in touch and were told over and over that the bid was coming... they strung us along for months!!! Then last week they told us that we would not get a bid from them because they are too busy, yet they also refused to refund our money. They said our home is too custom... it is just as custom as it was the first time they were here in March... not any more custom when they came back in May.... yet they waited until late August to decide they are too busy!! Yet, here they are trying to drum up more new business instead of finishing what they have already been paid to do!!! Again... Do not do business with them. They will take your money and make promises with no follow through. I have lodged a complaint with BBB and FTC as well and spoken to my attorney to explore our rights... It seems that because this contractor fraud is in relation to a natural disaster recovery this is taken very seriously by the Federal Trade Commission. They may not be in business much longer... ‍

If you are searching for a group of professionals that can take care of your odd jobs around the house or place of business..... search no more!!! We used the Butler Brothers and could not have made a better choice!!! They installed two exterior doors for us and we were very pleased not only with the price (materials and labor) but how fast they were able to take care of our need!!! Especially considering that one of the doors had the glass broken out. Reach out to them, you will not be disappointed!! I even found a few other things for them to take care of in the near future!!

I attempted to contact Butler Brothers through their website provided on Yelp to inquire about getting an estimate for some work. I tried to request an appointment, but their website told me I had to download an app. Really? I'm going to download an app to request one appt? I then sent a message, not sure of the method, about the download issue and I received an email that did not address my inquiry at all, but rather seemed like an auto-reply asking me to subscribe to ??? I don't need to subscribe to anything. I just wanted an estimate to get some work done at my house. Is that really too much to ask? I sent a follow-up message about a week later figuring I would give them one more opportunity and never heard back from them. Sadly, this seems to be the rule, rather than the exception when it comes to trying to hire service companies in Bastrop. I guess I'll have to send my money to Travis County.

We hired Butler Brothers for a fence and gate repair project. Alan came out to review our project needs and provided us with a very quick and fair bid. He and his crew arrived when expected and we were told the project would take 3 to 4 days and they wrapped It up in 3. They were in constant communication throughout and we are extremely pleased with the work that was done. In addition, they took extra care and went above to address some water drainage issues in and around our fence line. I would highly recommend them for any fence project to anyone that asks and I will definitely consider them for any other projects we may need in the future.

A very professional service, they got my new "old house" off to a great start during 2 days that included with a tree limb lift, fireplace cover, tin roof screw replacement and hot water going again. Not just one guy show up, I typically saw 3-4 folks working on projects. I say again- a very professional and insured type business that appears able to handle just about any requests.

      First to Review

Alan Butler and his team, especially Elijah, built a sediment wall for my newly excavated yard. They were professional and hard working and finished the job exactly like the contract stated. Alan even went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the job, very honest man!
