Made a purchase on eBay and opted to pick it up since it was so close. Who doesn't love saving on delivery costs?

First, they offered a discount on the item in which I was interested. It was the discount that prompted me to go ahead with the purchase, thank you!

The store was easy to find. I was met on the porch by a gentleman not wearing a mask. I had mine on. He extended his hand and well, I haven't interacted with humans in a LONG time so it was natural to shake his hand, all the while thinking, "What am I doing?!?" Rest assured I was very aware of not touching my face until I got home.

I perused the store for a bit. It was crowded and full of interesting stuff. I was distracted, but if things were different I would have enjoyed taking my time.

The propriator came down and the pick up was complete. I have to say that I LOVE the piece I purchased and I'm SO glad she offered a discount.

Oh, she did have a mask on, which made me feel better. We chatted a bit about art and she said she'd keep an eye out for the type of stuff I collect.

After I got back I received a message about completing the purchase with a QR code. I had no idea, but it must be a part of the purchasing process when something is picked up in person. Completing this online was a piece of cake.

Bottom line, if you're into antiques and you're in the neighborhood, check out Buy The Way Artiques (is that really the name, I had no idea!)

More stars than 5 are needed for this shop and the proprietress. I have been looking for a particular pair of earrings since 2013 when I lost them at the airport ( you know the TSA setup and how it allows for things in carry-ons to get "lost" while you are being diverted to an irradiation or a grope), so recently I made a public post of a photo of them on FB. Two weeks later, Rachel Grimoldi from Buy the Way in Concord sent me a message that she had found a pair just like mine and arranged a time for us to meet. She even discounted the price. I am so happy to have something exactly like them back; they had been a gift from my husband.

The store is jam packed with all those things you had when you were a kid, but your mother threw out when you didn't come for that box of treasures after you bought your own house. Before you go looking for that Hopalong Cassidy mug on Ebay and bid waaaay too much for it, check with Rachel. She probably has one, maybe two.

When you go, don't forget to pat the world's most calm (and softest) dog.

I found this shop after Rachel, who I found very charming, offered to buy my old electric guitar online. When you walk into this building their shop is the furthest one in the back. There are two rooms full of cool, vintage collectable action figures, astonishing paintings, gleaming statues, vietnam era military gear, fancy old cameras, a variety of gem stones, sports gear, man-cave style beer signs and well you get the picture by now? Good stuff keep coming in and out of here so I'll be coming back to see all the new stuff. No junk sold here!

Found my favorite character Eddie from SSX Tricky from the Playstation 2 days :) I didn't know they made him into an action figure!

This little shop is really a gem in our community. Pretty local to todos santos, My boyfriend find ourselves walking past it often. It looks so residential but still inviting as a business front, so we finally went in. Has a homey feel to it and it's always fun to pop in every once in awhile and check out their selection. The family who runs it is helpful without following you around the place like I've experienced at other local shops like this. I met the owner in person at the monthly antique fair- she is friendly and knowledgeable about her business! Locals were greeting her by name as they walked past her booth and (no offense to other vendors selling garage sale items and plants) but she seamed to be one of the only vendors selling vintage and antique items.

Wow. So disappointed. This guy looked me right in the face, knowing he was ripping me off. Took my family to the treasure island flea market, and to this guy's booth. He had what looked like an authentic lock from Alcatraz. I tried to get internet on my phone to do a little research, and find out what it would be worth, but, no signal. My son is a huge Alcatraz history fan, and wanted to buy it for a gift for him. I bought it for $55 from this "antique dealer," assuming it was authentic. He saw how excited I was over it, and sold it to me, KNOWING it was a fake. Got home, and looked it up..... $49 on Amazon. Not cool. Can't stand a "businessman" that will look you in the eye, and rip you off. Don't trust them.

I placed my order on line and in a just few days it was here on the East Coast. It is exactly as described in ad. I will be visiting them in the future for more great items. I am well pleased ! 5 Stars is not enough so I'll also rate them 5 Stars plus a Golden Crown !

      By the way, Everyone...

More than just a play on words, Buy the Way Artiques is not just an average "antique shop." Rather, I happened on a hidden gem of Concord and the East Bay that is full of literal gems. As a lover of antiques, I am excited each time I visit this haven - which is literally a collector's paradise!

Rachel and Matias are the wonderful, hard-working owners of this amazing business. From the moment my friend and I walked in for the first time, Matias warmly welcomed us, and I immediately noticed that they have so many beautifully displayed items and artifacts. They clearly have such a great selection of rare and unique items. What I especially take interest in are old items like artifacts! And, Buy the Way is full of them - I felt like I was walking in a museum! My friend took interest in their slot machine, which Matias nicely plugged in and let him play! What grabbed by eyes the most, however, were their antique bottles. They had a rare 1890s teal cone ink that I really wanted, so I later asked Rachel about it, and we worked out a very fair deal! Matias and Rachel said they are keeping an eye out for antique bottles for my collection. As such, be sure to sign their client mailing and contact list!

Rachel and Matias are very friendly and fair with their prices; and as I got to know them, I quickly found out how knowledgeable and passionate they are for everything that they do. These qualities that they put in their business really serve the community in bringing us a place that transcends the average "antique shop." I have yet to find any antique shop quite like this one with the wide, unique selection that they have with the knowledge to back it all up (rare to find, as I go to MANY antique shops all the time). I am excited to see this place flourish in our local community.

Whether you are a serious collector or a home designer, Buy the Way has something for everybody at a place that you will know and feel is different than any antique shop that you have ever been in before - I guarantee it. In fact, it feels incorrect to label the business as an "antique shop" since it is so much more than that! As such, I highly recommend visiting and making business with Buy the Way for an experience unlike any other.

This place is a hidden treasure! If I can buy all of their items, I will! They carry items that are truly one of a kind, some look like museum pieces. I bought several Objet d'art that are probably worth triple the price if I have gone to an auction. And Rachel (proprietress) just gives the best customer service!

Stumbled onto this wonderful find through a FB Marketplace posting for a Grandfather clock. I had always wanted one and the price seemed pretty good. Once I got there and saw the quality of the clock, the asking price was great. It wasn't running but I walked inside (they had it on the porch) and was greeted by the father. Let me tell you, I was stunned when I walked in - there isn't a square inch of this place that doesn't have something fascinating squirrled away. He didn't seem to have much detail about it so got his daughter Rachel to help me. She had a few more details, but was very pleasant and eager to answer what she could. I ended up buying it after 10 minutes, and once I got it home and took a closer look at the mechanism, a simple fix had this beautiful piece up and running... well, like clockwork! I will happily recommend this wonderful place to anyone interested in collectibles. If you're just going to browse, you may want to pack a lunch because it's going to take hours!
