Cafe Stella

I love going to Cafe Stella! I usually stick to coffee and baked treats but Stella truly has it all: cocktails, lunch and dinner, smoothies, and house-roasted beans. My favorite drinks are their chai lattes and London fog!

The atmosphere is so cozy; you'll see people catching up, studying, drawing, journaling; it's an all around great neighborhood spot we're luck to have in Ghent!

Cafe Stella is a unique cafe filled with antiques and artwork! There is plenty of seating for all which makes it a fabulous place to socialize with friends or to pop a squat and do some work. The staff is very welcoming and helpful when you're ordering. I didn't feel rushed when I wasn't sure of what flavor to choose for my latte. I didn't get the name of the person at the register but he is tall and skinny and gave me a French vibe. lol. Shout-out to him for being warm and delightful. It's such a busy place so the staff are constantly on the move. I see that some people say that service is slow. I didn't get that impression when I was there compared to other cafes in the area where the service is truly slow.

It is a lively spot and proves itself to be a neighborhood staple. The menu is extensive and they have lots to offer from coffee to tea to full on meals to desserts. What caught my eye immediately was the display case of treats. And I was automatically drawn to the almond cake. My brother's eye caught the coffee cardamom cake. My cousin ordered the cinnamon bun.

The almond cake was THE BEST I ever had. It was everything I imagined it would be. It was moist, the flavor was just right, and it was the perfect pairing to my latte. The cardamom cake was THE SECOND BEST. I always heard of cardamom in cake on the Great British Baking Show but never had it until I had this cake... and I can't believe I was missing out on this powerful flavor. I highly recommend getting both!!! The cinnamon bun was kind of a bummer. It was dry and lacked the filling in the inside.

The double latte that I ordered had almond milk and their brown sugar syrup. It was fantastic as you can probably tell by the photo attached to this review, with my face approving the taste. My brother ordered the butterfly pea latte which was a pretty blue. He liked the flavor but to him, it was too grainy for his liking. He wasn't sure what that grainy-ness was. I couldn't put my finger on it either. But I'm sure if it was nice and smooth, he would have had 0 complaints.

When I want a more poppin' place to chat with my friends, this is the spot I'll be coming back to when I'm in town! Def stop by and get those cakes I mentioned!!!! :)

Cafe Stella is a local favorite! From breakfast to lunch, coffee to cocktails, the menu has amazing variety, and all of it is done incredibly well. I love their shakshuka, and the pastries are always delicious. I've never ordered something I didn't like. The staff is always nice, and I love the atmosphere. It's a great place to catch up with friends, do homework, or just enjoy the weather outside.

Tried Cafe Stella since their expansion. I am so happy that I went back. Not only do they serve amazing breakfast foods all day, their lunch and dinner selections are equally as delicious. They have a whole variety of coffees and teas, as well as cocktails, beer and wine. The place is very relaxing and the staff are polite. I highly recommend Cafe Stella for everyone!

I am absolutely, positively in LOVE with Cafe Stella. I'll lead with saying I've never really been a cafe girly; I always have been accustomed to working from my home office. The other week I decided to get a change of scenery. I asked a couple of friends and they said to check out Cafe Stella. After finding street parking, I walked up to see the cutest outside seating followed by a cozy, clean, home feeling inside! I walked up to the counter and saw a host of options from food, to drinks, including alcoholic ones!
My goal is to try atleast everything on their menu once! There are going to be a few things mentioned that I don't have pictures for, but I hope you take my word and try them out!

Matcha Peach latte/drink: infinity/10- Matcha has always had this earthy, dirt taste that I have had a distain for, BUT THIS WAS THE BEST MATCHA DRINK I HAVE EVER HAD. Changed my whole perspective on Matcha drinks.

Hot Chocolate with Oat Milk 100000/10- ok so I have been bragging about the Hot Cocoa at Black Rifle, but THIS took the cake! Utter perfection.

Waffle Sandwiches with eggs 10/10 - delicious! They have a great cook in the kitchen!

Iced Green tea 7.5/10 - flavor was really good, but if you require sweetener, make sure you ask before hand!

Korean Beef Tacos 10/10 - Picker eater here!!! I ate it with no substitutions! And finished them all! It comes with 3. Flavor is off the charts! Only thing I didn't get was cilantro because I can't eat it. Otherwise I'd get everything again!

Please check them out! The staff is amazing as well! Very helpful and friendly!

I love Cafe Stella. On sundays they have live music and its a great place if you want to study. It can get a little loud so if you need quiet then maybe a library is better. But the food is amazing and i love their tea as well. Great prices and great vibes to be hanging out with friends or studying. Always a great time at cafe stella.

What a nice coffee shop in Norfolk. The vibe here is so cool. There are plenty of tables but since the place is so popular, it might take a minute to find a seat I didn't notice. There were a few homeless people, monopolizing tables, but other than that the place is super cozy and very nice, the coffee was good too. Next time I go I will try the food.

Have visited numerous times over the years. The staff is outstanding, usually attentive & pleasant. Ordered a pot of peppermint tea & a large coffee. The server delivered the coffee in a "to go" cup as apposed to a ceramic mug as we were partaking there, not a big deal. (They weren't that busy.) The tea was ready within a few minutes & was delicious. The 3
Star rating was the condition of the interior, to say the least the cafe was filthy. The heavily stained/torn seat cushions to the dirt/grim on the window sills and dirty old cobb webs on the light fixtures; it was truly gross. Please take some time to do a thorough deep clean. I realize the vibe is shabby chic, but please consider replacing the torn/heavily stained cushions with clean replacements. We always enjoy Cafe Stella when in town, it's a regular stop for us.
