At Caketales your not just getting a cupcake, your getting a work of art. The cake decorator and owner of this establishment is a master cake decorator. The designs are just breathtaking, so much attention to detail. My husband and I were on the hunt for something sweet as usually and decided to drop in to see what Caketales had to offer. It was close to closing time so I wasn't expecting much, but to my surprise there were quite a few options.

When we walked in the place was almost full. The dining area was small, but nicely furnished with no wasted space. We waited in line behind a gentleman who was very indecisive and held up the like for a considerable amount of time. The owner intuitively gave me the cupcake that I truly wanted to try out ( the I'm strawberry chiffon cupcake) and told me that it was on the house while we waited, I thought that was sweet, ( no pun intended). My husband and I devoured it before I was able to take a picture of it my apologies ;). It was very light and fluffy with a strawberry cream filling. It wasn't overly sweet and kinda reminded me of an angel food or sponge cake like the cakes I get at 85 degree bakery or Sweet Hut. It was beautifully decorated with a flower on top.

Once the gentleman was finished order ordering the owner focused his attention on us. He explained the different treats to us. I opted for the chocolate traditional cupcake and my husband chose the cheesecake, I paired mine with their berry flavored tea and my hubby chose coffee. We paid and took a seat. The owner told us that his wife is the baker and he helps out here and there. He delivered our food to the table on a nice decorative tray. He then brought our coffee and tea over and asked in we needed sugar and cream and brought them over as well. He was very attentive and did an awesome job to say he helps out occasionally! The chocolate cupcake was very fluffy I absolutely love the texture and the frosting was not too bitter and not too sweet it was just right and had exactly the right amount of milk chocolate flavor to it. My husband enjoyed the cheesecake he said it was very creamy and the rose cream on top added a burst of extra flavor to the cheesecake; both were nicely decorated as well. The coffee and tea went well with the desserts. They were served in these cute little cups with wooden coasters and golden teaspoons! We both had an awesome time on our dessert date! We will be back. The cost was a bit higher than some of the other cupcake places in the area, but we felt like there was value in what we got and enjoyed the experience all the same!

I took a cupcake decorating class here and it was great! 1.5 hours of instruction, fun, knowledge and a drink on the house. The staff/owners are so nice and made me feel at home. Their cake and frosting is amazing and so delicious. They will work with you to create a custom cake to fit your needs. I look forward to going again for more treats and highly recommend the classes they offer.

This review is from my experience in March. So disappointed in these cupcakes! Was looking to order a cake for my daughter's 4th birthday, which was 3/31, and stopped in. Ordered six different cupcakes in order to see which flavors we preferred. Sadly, of the six I chose only 3 tasted good. The other three were dry and the frosting on one of the vanilla cupcakes was disgusting. Happy that I hadn't ordered a cake after all.

Was suprised I hadn't written a review for this place yet. This is by far my favorite cupcake/cake bakery in Frisco/Plano area. I'm not a big fan of cakes and cupcakes typically because they're too sweet.

The chiffon cakes and cupcakes here are amazing. My runaway favorite is the blueberry chiffon cupcake. The filling and icing and cake are moist and flavorful without giving me instant diabetes. I'm comparing the sweetness of this place to something like a sprinkles cupcake where I probably can't finish their cupcake without a bottle of milk.

The design and service is wonderful. I have ordered a cake for my wife's baby shower here, and my baby's first birthday cupcakes here. All have been wonderful experience. Their drinks are good but not like top notch but should definitely be tried. Drinks 8/10 ; baked goods 9.5/10.

I was notified by my daughter that during the grand opening, their cupcakes were free and we all rushed right over. The cupcakes are lovely, almost works of art. And the presentation is awesome - served with a silver mirrored tray and plastic utensils so pretty I didn't want to throw them away. And the staff was very sweet! But, alas...

The cupcake itself did not live up to the presentation! Dry, tasteless and bland would have been misleading - I'm sure the packing from my Amazon order would have had more flavor. Hopefully, the recipe will be changed, and soon, otherwise the fate of this cute little shop will be the same as the previous cupcake store in the same location.

Since I love cupcakes, I will certainly give Caketales another try in the future.

Great place and super good cakes! It's so yummy and beautiful ;) most importantly, the sweetness is just right - not too sweet. Flower cupcakes make my wife very happy. My family will definitely come back again.

I've been wanting to come in for a cake decorating class but I kept missing it. So I've decide to just drop in to try some cakes instead. I grabbed 6 cupcakes, 2butter cream and 2 chiffon cakes. These are more like Asian cakes because it's not super sweet. I like all of the cakes and one i didn't Love is carrot cake! Chocolate butter cream was smooth and rice, and all chiffon cakes were very light every bite! Will def go back for more or a go to place for cake orders!

Cake was delicious and very pretty. I will be back for another one. I also tried a cupcake that was very moist and yummy.
