Best deals in Barcelona. 5 beers for €5, plus a free tapa. Great family owned restaurant, usually packed with ppl.
      100% recommend.

You have to stand at the bar in order to get the deal.

Came here because of yelp reviews but I left disappointed. Alcohol is reasonably priced but the tapas are a ripoff. The taste was nothing special, just average fried food. The menu pricing is misleading.

2 stars because their alcohol is reasonably priced just don't expect variety.

I thought I saw somewhere that Cal Chusco kept with tradition where you get small tapas with a drink purchase. I dont think they still do this, which is fine. Ordered 3 tapas, bombas was a 4/5, the other dishes (deep fried small fishes and fried diced potatoes) were 3/5. Overall, I found this place to be nothing to write home about. If I was a local, maybe I'd eat here sometimes, but as a tourist, I wouldnt expect to come here for amazing food.

It was pouring rain as we strolled along Barcelonetta's boardwalk. Looking to escape the series of paella-vending tourist traps on Passeig Joan de Borbo, we took a random turn away from the bright lights. At the end of the block, about one minute from the main street, we saw Cal Chusco and decided to give it a try.

Our first day in Barcelona, we wanted to sample tapas and still have money left for the rest of our stay. At Cal Chusco, we drank beer, wine, horchata and soda and ate bread with tomato/olive oil, bacalao (cod), sandwiches, a salad and fried octopus. The waitress/chef was friendly and spoke to us in English, answering our questions about menu items. It is worth noting, however, that there were no other tourists in the place. There was a family celebrating their daughter's birthday, and a group of friends watching a game on television.

It is a small place with a bar, good tapas and cheap prices close to the beach. Drinks averaged at about 2 euros and tapas were about 3 euros for good sized portions. A great place to sample local favorites.

Some of the drink choices at Cal Chusco.

Was so excited to try out this spot after a good recommendation. Was blown away by how rude the staff was. Very disappointing.

      Best Paella ever!
      Tapas from Heaven.
Went there with a local friend, who preordered the Paella. You have to preorder it, and it's worth it. We've been the only Germans in there. It looks ok from the outside, but not too tempting, as it's really small. But it's just fantastic on all levels!

The chicken and fries are so good. Not to mention the owners are so very polite. Definitely recommend this place!

Excellent local Spanish bar with very good tapas. Try the 5 nips in a bucket with tapas for 5 euros

Amazing local restaurant, wonderful staff (even if they only speak spanish). A must do in Barcelona! The food is just great, and cheap, really cheap! Just go there and let the owner guide you through the dishes!

Amazing Gambas Fritas (fried prawns). A hidden gem, well worth the 2 minute walk from the overpriced restaurants on the beach
