Capitol Physical Therapy

I wouldn't go here again. In my opinion, there are much better places in DC with more equipment and better therapists. My improvement from these people was so so in my opinion.

My physical therapy experience with Dr. Valerie is the best I could have imagined! I was searching for a knowledgeable, people-centered physical therapist before a major gender-affirmation surgery. Finding the perfect physical therapist with the combination of skills and openness for my particular need wasn't easy, so I was relieved and thrilled after my first consultation. I was immediately comforted by Dr. Valerie's warmth, encouraged by her expertise, and pleasantly surprised by her willingness to jump into things right away! I was in great shape as I entered surgery because of my early sessions with her; and my post-surgery work with her made all the difference in my recovery. I might even have more flexibility and strength after surgery than I did before, even with a serious functional fitness routine. And most of all, I always looked forward to our appointments, appreciated her grace with traffic, learned new things about my body, and benefited by the fact that CPT is in network, so I paid only $30 per session, which was meaningful after having over 12 sessions. I can't recommend Dr. Valerie enough!

Subha is amazing - and I have a history of being in and out of PT due to some temporary, and now permanent back injuries. As such, I know what physical therapists are good and what ones need improvement. Subha gets five stars for her ability to identify issues that took other PT's months to find, and her ability to not just give me exercises, but clean my back out so I can stand properly. She's extremely knowledgeable and listens to you. She gives good exercises but focuses my appointments on manually manipulating my back so that I can improve on my own. Definitely recommend!

Subha is excellent!! I've gone to her for multiple different injuries and she's provided a quick yet thorough assessment and at-home strengthening exercises. She continues to keep my mind at ease and recognizes my fitness goals. I've kept up with doing her suggested hip and butt strength exercises and they've been great at helping me prevent injury and tone my muscles too! She answers emails extremely quickly if you ever have a concern or question that arises. Highly recommend!

I found Capitol Physical Therapy through my health insurance and could not be more pleased. Subha provides one-on-one service with easy-to-follow advice and directions. I could tell right away she knows her material and enjoys her practice. Every injury is different, but after just one session, I felt immediate relief of shoulder pain of several months. After a month of weekly visits, I feel like I am on the path to healing, and I have a good understanding of how to stay that way. I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone in need of friendly, but thorough and comprehensive physical therapy. Thank you, Subha!

I've seen a lot of physical therapists in a lot of cities while recovering from two tedious illnesses, but I've never trusted one more than I trust Subha Nagasubramanian. She is motivating and calming at once; has excellent technique; conveys high expectations for a person's recovery; and is smart and interesting as a person, so that the time spent being treated isn't tedious in the least. Although the word "wholistic" gets thrown about so much that I guess it's mostly meaningless now, it's a word that often comes to mind when I'm being treated by her. She intently addresses the specific injury while also considering the bigger picture, which is about strengthening well-being in the round.
