Captain Kid Amusement Park is a must stop for family fun and memories. Play a round of mini golf on our 18-hole course, take a ride in our go Karts or do both. Children under 58" don't need to watch from the sidelines; they are welcome to ride with an adult in our double karts. We also have a family Rollercoaster, a kiddie car ride, Rotowhip, helicopter/airplane ride, tubs of adventure, and a Wizzer. Our newest addition is Shangrila Creek Mining Company, a gem mining experience! Come have fun with your family!! Hope to see you at the beach!

Google doesn’t have a way for us to mark no hours when we are off season which is November 1-February 18. They offer open, closed, or temporarily closed. We apologize for that as it definitely is temporary and we always close in winter. See you in… more

My kids really like this place, if only for the go kart racing. The price is right and it's literally on your way out of Seaside so we make it a point to stop here every time we head home.
It's not superly packed, yaaay, and even in the middle of summer when everyone and their mama (literally kids and their moms) are here, the lines are tolerable. This coming from the mother of an impatient 2nd grader, carries serious weight. Anyway, go in line, get tickets to whatever your munchkins (or yourself) want to play, they have several different options including mini golf, rock wall, gyroextreme machine (at the ripe age of 40, this thing makes me dizzy just watching it spin. Hard pass!), a family friendly roller coaster, as well as several attractions for the littler guys.
There are limited concessions on the lot and things are not too crazy expensive. The only real problem my teens had was with the port potties in the summer. Barf!
All things said, this little amusement park is pretty sweet and we love coming by here on our trips to the coast. Recommend? Why yes, yes I do!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 9, 2022
Took our 5-year-old grandson here on Thursday and he had such a good time we returned on Friday. Perfect amusement park for younger children with a surprising selection of rides for a 5-year-old. The main activities for older kids are the go-karts and mini-golf, which are both very popular. I took my grandson on the go-karts with him as the passenger, and he had a great time.
FWIW we spent about $50-$60 on each of the two days we went.
The staff at the park operating the rides are very kind, understanding and friendly. Makes a big difference with small kids.
Highly recommended!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe P.Vancouver, WA0721Oct 14, 2023
Good place for kids under 6, older kids won't have many options other than Go Karts and Putt Putt Golf.

Small attraction that's perfect for children. They have several rides that are toddler friendly, a put put golf area, small rollercoaster, rock wall, and go cart ride. They take care to sanitize all of the go carts between rides and maintain social distancing. Everything is outside, so wearing masks is recommended but optional. The workers are friendly and very patient with risk adverse kids. My son was hesitant for many of the rides and the attendant volunteered to turn on the ride to show him how they move.
They offer cold beverages and ice cream (in waffle cones). Sturdy plastic picnic benches are spread apart in the middle of their center, so you can enjoy ice cream while keeping an eye on your children. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 11, 2022
We stopped here on our way out of Seaside. It was fun for the kids. They have 2 activities tha adults can partake in (mini golf and go karts). They were a little pricey, for what they are and some of the rides don't seem very safe. They were severely understaffed, but the employees that were there were very friendly and seemed to be in good moods. We would visit here again.

Thank you for the review! Many adults partake in several other rides with their kids or just alone! Other activities, the Rick climbing wall, the family coaster, our brand new Wizzer, the heli/airplane ride, and the Tubs of Adventure. We follow very strict safety, our rides are inspected yearly and we pay fees to the state to permit each one after inspections. We have daily documented checks on each ride. We are family owned and there is no way we would want any liability for unsafe rides, we have grandchildren and just simply would not want anyone getting hurt! We feel confident our rides are safe. As far as staff, the entire world is understaffed, one of the biggest challenges we face, however, it appears you came in October when we are nearing closing for season and get a small trickle of guests in, so cannot keep the park staffed as fully as we normally try. We stay open in October only as a courtesy to the guests that may be coming to Seaside, many other businesses are already closed due to the enormous drop in customers. We do appreciate everyone that comes through our gates, and are glad you had fun but I disagree with activities available for adults and our rides not being safe. We couldn’t operate legally if they are unsafe, we are very regulated.

The nastiest, most hostile attitude I've encountered. We were travelling in the area as visitors from out of state and came upon a huge open field. After exploring trails and areas of scenery, my friends and I thought this huge open area of trees were for the public for us to briefly shoot a reenactment movie scene. while we were on it, we were met by Bruce who came screaming for us to get off. We apologized and informed him that we thought this was an open resting area. One of my friends asked, "I'm sorry about that, sir. Can we ask you a question?" And he irritably replied, "what? What do you want? I'm working!" And my friend said, "May we have five more minutes to wrap up." He screamed, "NO! GET OFF MY G*DD*AMN PROPERTY! Get your own d*mn property!" We stared stunned at the hostility from an innocent mistake of being on a huge open nature area where there were no signs of prohibition and no fences (we always try to make sure the areas we are on are not private property). My friend went to pick up one of our materials for our scene and he sarcastically said, "helloo!! You're going the wrong way!" He then shockingly said we were the ones who had bad attitudes. So glad we didn't go to his Go Kart establishment after. Discovered this was his. What an incredibly uncomfortable and uncalled for encounter.
EDIT:
Hi, Tammi. Thank you for a prompt response. You mentioned it was unethical to leave a review of a business without having ever visited; on the contrary, as a professional business owner it is essential to maintain common courtesy and respect on and off the clock because who you are is a representation of your establishment. Our encounter with the owner had actually deterred us from coming, because we planned to after we were done. We were surprised to discover just who it belonged to. Bruce immediately started screaming and yelling without even coming to inform us, "Excuse me, ladies, are you aware that you are on private property?" His immediate unfriendliness was the true unethical way of conversing with fellow human beings, especially ones who made an honest mistake. Even after apologizing and we gathered our things to leave, the hostility and impatience increased.
As I mentioned, 1) We had no idea it was private. As travelers, our focus is making sure whether or not signs of prohibition are in place. We have no problem leaving premises that do not belong to us, as they are not ours. I believe, agree with, and hold the utmost respect to ownership and private premises. To assume we felt entitled to someone's else property has revealed you did not read my review of us harmlessly mistaking an open field of nature was public, and, upon being made aware that it wasn't (no matter how disrespectfully) have apologized and left.
2)- Your frustration of previous experiences of squatters, vandalism, and litterers is understandable. However, Bruce has utilized these frustrating experiences to become disrespectful to any passerby who may not know it's private.
3)- The last four sentences of your response was truly heartbreaking. I hope the littering and squatters cease as you both have worked hard and should enjoy your land. But, in the future, do not allow yours hearts to become irritable that any encounter you have with fellow humans is met with unprovoked hostility. Best of luck to you both.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I try to always remain professional in all we do, but I need to get this straight….You never came to our place of business, but you did a review of our business, based on an encounter you had with the owner of Captain Kid Amusement Park on a piece of property owned by him, but not part of the park? This seems highly unethical and definitely not what google or yelp, or any of the other internet could possibly think is correct or fair for an avenue to review businesses you go to. Precisely why I can’t stand any of them, as owners, we have no recourse for these one star reviews, and now here’s one where the reviewer never even stepped foot in our place of business. Interesting, so I will publicly defend us. The man you encountered on our private property was my husband, and yes, we also own the park you reviewed and never went to. Our property is a beautiful field, because of the hard work we do to keep it that way. We are very nice and reasonable people, however, we continually have to deal with squatters, trespassers, people throwing garbage all over, peeing, pooping and so many other things, including being intoxicated and scary at times. We are tired. We were out today busting our butts to mow this property which used to be a complete eyesore as you came into Seaside. We take pride in everything we do, therefore, maintenance is part of the game. We do have no trespassing signs, they are not large, but I guess we need to make them a heck of a lot bigger. We have the lumber for a fence, but are caught up in stupid crap trying to get a fence built on OUR property. All open public areas in Seaside are pretty well marked. Our property does not look public in our opinion. I would think most people who work hard and own their homes, or even rent, would start getting a bit irritable if people continually were pulling in and playing in their yards, peeing and pooping, dumping garbage and trying to just move into it, thinking they can. Well, we won’t have it. We will always fight for what we work hard for. If you had asked, the answer would’ve been, “ no problem, have fun.”
We were taught we are not entitled to anything unless you work hard for it, I would never dream of traveling into an area and just getting out, and doing the things we have to deal with on someone else’s place. You may feel what you were doing was harmless enough, and it probably was. But, that’s not the principle. If we didn’t fight for our place to keep people off of it, it would look like a dump. It ain’t happening. - Elizabeth H.Silverton, OR203Jul 18, 2023
Horrible experience. Will not be back again. Customer service is bad down to the owner. Child left in tears.

It is very disheartening to see this review, as the owner, with such a vague explanation. As owners, we have never made children cry. In our experience, usually something occurs within our park relating to rule following, safety on the go kart track, or customers upset about our ticketing system and height requirements. We have seen many upset kids when they are unable to participate in rides due to height and age requirements, and when the kids are upset like that, the parents are upset. It is a fine line we walk to keep everyone happy, but ultimately we have rules we follow here that we won’t stray from. If you care to message or contact us to tell us what the incident was that would be great.

I almost NEVER leave reviews unless the service was outstanding. Today, as I was driving by this beautiful open field, I decided, along with my two sisters in Christ, to recreate a movie scene. This field looked like an open public field and had NO signs indicating that it was private property. Being that I enforce private property signs in the state where I live, I absolutely thought this was open to the public as a nature field. It was also located behind the restaurant establishment where we had lunch after. While making our video, the owner of this establishment came out on his riding mower and failed the first order of human decency to speak to us with respect and began screaming at us three ladies in such a disrespectful manner, that it completely caught me off guard. It was a simple mistake that we made due to the lack of posted signs. Immediately upon finding out that we were on private property, I asked the owner if I could speak with him, but he spoke with me in such a harsh and disrespectful manner that I continued to gather my things and leave immediately. We continued to apologize as we were being yelled at. As I read through these reviews, there is a common complaint about the owners attitude. I'm hoping that he will take the time to consider these complaints and make the proper adjustments because it reflects on his business. I wanted to go there after we ate, but this left me so unsettled as we ate lunch.

Unethical review and goes against the rules of Google or Yelp to only leave reviews at a place of business you actually did business at. As explained to your friend in her one star Yelp review, we have had continual trespassers, squatters, people stopping and using this field as a restroom and garbage dump, he is fed up. We have also been threatened on our own property by people that feel it is their right to be there and stay. It is very disheartening in these times, as a sister in Christ, to have these one star attacks on our business, that are often blatant lies. (although I will say, this did happen on our property as you explain, not at our business, Captain Kid Amusement Park) We’ve been in business a very long time, and if we do things that are not correct, we try to correct them. Always remember, there are two sides to every encounter. We work hard here, we pay a ton of money out to make a nice place for people to go and spend time with their families. We have never seen such disrespect as we have since Covid hit. People come here, get on our go karts and smash into eachother ($80,000 for our new fleet) and won’t listen, then get pissed if we stop their behavior and put up these reviews as a revenge. I am sorry, truly for the bad encounter, but if you are a sister in Christ, you would not have everyone hitting out business with one star reviews as a revengeful act when you never even stepped foot in it. Even if this was all innocent and you didn’t mean to trespass, you did, others always do. We are tired of this entitled attitude on our private property (not even owned by our Amusement Park) I am going to publicly defend us when this stuff happens and people choose to go to a keyboard to “get even.” You know nothing about us.

This place was a lot of fun!! My kids loved it and we had a great time there. The prices are a little high even for Seaside but overall I would totally go here again! The go carts are nice because you can do single or double, so if you have younger kids they can still ride. It's a little loud when all the go carts are parked so be aware if you have kids who don't like loud noises.
