I hate giving poor reviews, but this place just wasn't good. Service was OK, but the best thing any of us ate was the free salsa. Carne tacos were WILDLY over cooked, very chewy and dry, and needed an extra tortilla.... full on wet diaper situation. Both of my friends complained the burrito and chimis were dry and generally flavorless. Won't be back. Also, $4.50 for a bottle of Sol??? AYFK?? 2 stars for service and plate presentation.

Let me start off by saying that my dad is a Mexican food snob. He has high standards! This place, while you would never think it since it's connected to a gas station, is, in his mind, the best Mexican food in the state. I am partially convinced this is due to the margaritas they serve; they are very very tasty. I also have really enjoyed all the meals we have ordered from here. Those rellenos though...so good!!!! The wait staff is extremely pleasant, and always very helpful.
They have a small patio area, which is dog friendly albeit a bit loud since it's right next to 285.
All in all though, this place is a gem. Highly recommend if you're looking for a bite in the area. CheersHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ryleigh R.Aurora, CO08012Jun 20, 2021
Awful service and food. Restaurant was empty inside but it took 50 minutes from the time we ordered to the time we received our food. Server laughed it off when I mentioned I thought she had forgotten about us. When we did get the food it was cold and gross, full of oil (see pic) so I barely ate it. Cheese enchilada was stuffed with shredded cheese that was not melted. Do not recommend.

I haven't eaten here in almost three years. New management/ownership so let's check it out! I really wanted this place to be amazing since I live so close but here's my review. I was looking for a delicious sloppy combination. Of course it looked exactly how I wanted. It really all lacked flavor. I asked for a ground beef taco and got a boiled chicken meat taco. The Beans. The beans. How do you mess up beans? There is no flavor. If you close your eyes and eat the beans you don't think your eating anything. I've never had beans quite like this. When it compares to other area Mexican food it's not even close. The positive side is the server was really nice.

HI John, Sorry we missed this review...we would have reached out earlier, not sure what happened there. You're a local boy so you understand how mountain folk do. Come on back in, it's been a while (I don't even remember if we were doing dine in during November...) We had a chef change about that time so you might have got caught in the transition state. Let us know we disappointed you last time and we'll make it up to ya. Thanks for the review.

This is a gem in the rough (gas station). Tried and loved the Pollo Azado! A family owned business doing it right.

We stopped in to pick up breakfast burritos to go. When paying we noticed a Trump dollar bill and a MAGA Fan Trump bill under the glass counter. The burritos were tasty but I no longer have an appetite to do business with them.

Our favorite family restaurant in the Conifer area.
The food is basic, yes, but the service has always been prompt and friendly. Recommended.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Stopped for gas and got Breakfast burritos. Being from Texas, I expected the Austin Street Taco sized Burritos.... Oh No!! They were dinner platter sized! Steak, chorizo and bacon! Stuffed full, very hot very well done! Salsa was reasonably spicy with fresh cilantro, onions and tomatoes... superb flavor!
Going to or from the hills on 285 South of Denver? This is the place!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Can I first start by saying that I am mexican...and when we walked in here... oh my.... the stares were not very welcoming. And I'm not talking about the hostess... she was very welcoming. I think she was the bartender. Short blonde hair. There was about 3 full tables...its like we walked in there and all of a sudden. Everyone got uncomfortable. It was 5 of us... myself, my brother, my mother and my 2 kid nephews. We come from california and had been driving for about 8 hours straight when we stopped to eat here. It was a new experience for us...I don't understand what compels people to act this way. Moving on... the food was pretty good, everyone was happy...our server was really nice as well... though he seemed a bit nervous.
