Category 36 Taphouse

We took the family of four to Category 36 Taphouse for lunch after a morning of mini golf. Craig, our bartender/server, was knowledgeable and friendly. We started with some of the house made chips and French onion dip. So delicious! Craig recommended the Stromboli. It was served hot and flavorful; my husband and I shared it and ate every single bite. The kids each got a personal pizza that they both enjoyed. The beer selection is extensive and COLD. This was a refreshing change from the rest of St. Pete Beach's fish/seafood selections. Check it out on your next outing for something besides your standard seafood offerings!

I visited Category 36 Taphouse when I was in the area for a conference. After seeing the rave reviews about it online, I knew I had to check it out. I happened to visit on a Thursday night, which is Bandingo night, so the place was packed. I luckily got the last seat and was welcomed into the game of Bandingo. Unfortunately, the theme that night was 50s music (or maybe even earlier) so I didn't know enough to play.

Regardless, I ordered the hot chips and a pizza. Both were delicious! The hot chips came with a side of french onion dip, which I really enjoyed. I got a pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni and enjoyed my leftovers the next day. Despite how busy they were, seveeal employees checked in on me to make sure the food was good and I was doing okay.

You can tell that Category 36 Taphouse is a local's place, but I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area! You won't be disappointed.

We had a variety of foods. The onion rings were tasty. The Stromboli was really good with the homemade dough.

Seating is quite limited indoors but there is some outdoor seating and seating at the bar.

Great food, excellent service and a crazy amount of brews on tap. Can't say enough about the meatball sliders - you must get them if you go here. Pizza was delicious too - just didn't have enough room after the wings and sliders. I love that you can get the pizza by the slice without buying a whole pie. We live North of Tampa but would definitely drive to St. Pete Beach just for this place.

Good eats and good brews! This OSU bar has some friendly service and good food. I stopped by here after fishing in the area and was pleasantly surprised how quickly my food came out and how tasty the Italian sandwich was. Definitely will return here again!

Category 36 Taphouse & Kitchen is a true gem! Their wings are hands down the best on the beach - each bite is packed with fantastic flavors that keep you craving more. My favorite is the garlic lemon pepper dry rub! And speaking of must-try items, their Stromboli is an absolute delight that you simply can't miss.

No hard liquor - beer and wine vodka-type offerings

Service was great!! Liz handled business. It was busy and she was the only one working. We got a buffalo shrimp, fish and chips, slice of pizza and buffalo wings. Pizza was trash. Buffalo shrimp was also trash. But the fish n chips and mango haberno buffalo wings was delicious!!!

I've been here multiple times, and I've left super satisfied each time! First, the food is outstanding...very much warm comfort food, the stromboli is great, but the meatball sliders are even better. The service is always super quick and friendly, and the craft beer selection is top notch. The place is very intimate and the music volume is just right (usually 80's big hair bands) as well. All in all this is a hidden gem that's a stones throw from the beach!
