I can't thank Alberto enough! My car wouldn't start but I was able to get it to Cermak Auto Center just before it closed on a Saturday. Alberto explained the process and cost upfront which was much appreciated. He called me on Monday as promised and told me that the part I needed was only made by the company and it was on back order. He assured me I wouldn't be charged a storage fee, as it was beyond my control and that he'd search high and low to find the part - searching car lots, calling around to dealerships etc.

He handled the communication with the dealership regarding the placed order for the part and when I was able to reach someone from the corporate office for the car company and they offered to get a rental, pending a separate diagnosis, Alberto was happy for me and didn't try to charge beyond we'd discussed, particularly the storage fee since he now wouldn't be paid to do the repairs. He cared more about my convenience than making a buck and that's superb customer service in my book.

I'd recommend this place and Alberto to anyone.

They are everything that's wrong with auto repair shops. Dishonesty, price gouging, threats, fraudulent repairs/unneeded services, shitty attitude when you ask for a written estimate....the list goes on and on.

His estimate was $1,800.

I got the needed repairs done at a trusted auto repair shop in the suburbs for $800.

You be the judge.

This is an update to the review I posted 4 years ago.

I've now been coming to Cermak Auto Center for over 4 years. Their service is great, they've always done a great job fixing my car and the prices are reasonable. The biggest reasons I continue to go back are because I trust their work and i appreciate that they do what they can to accommodate my needs.

Most recently, I needed a new side mirror for a car that's in Seattle, WA. I sent Alberto a video of the damage to the mirror and he did all the work to procure a new mirror, spray paint it, package it so that it's easy to fly with, and met me on a Sunday to deliver it because that was the only time that worked. In all, awesome car shop!

I'm honestly surprised by all of the negative reviews. We have taken our last two cars to Alberto's shop for the last 12 years and have found him to be honest and fair and found the work to be of good quality. I have always recommended them to new people that move to the neighborhood and haven't had anyone tell me they have be anything but satisfied with their work.

Bad experience, takes money knowing customer is willing to pay, inspection should be at a reasonable cost, unethical practices just to make a dollar. Went to get an alignment at other place and they inspected for 20 and would not align until problems where fixed, tried explaining situation for another alignment and no reduced rate, they charge 75.00 for alignment and Marquette frame and alignment charges 55.00, I'll go there.

I have an older vehicle that I take to this shop for all of my maintenance and repair needs. I've always found them to be transparent and honest. They take the time to clearly explain (to someone with no understanding of mechanics) what is being fixed and why. They do a great job communicating cost breakdown. Additionally, they are flexible and work with me to pick parts in my budget and prioritize repairs.

The work they provide is consistently well done and timely. I use my vehicle for work so I can give tight deadlines that they can meet. If they happen to have a lot of cars in the shop that day they are great about scheduling repairs and getting them done quickly. I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs reliable, timely, and well done vehicle repair.

Taking your car to a new mechanic is always a scary situation. But Alberto takes care of all your worries from the beginning he explains problem with depth tries and find prices You can work with. While your vehicle being fixed he updates you with pictures let's you know what's going on. Until the end when he returns your vehicle with all issues resolved and just attention to detail. Had my engine recently rebuilt and Alberto was there threw whole process never ignoring calls always there for me. Now I'm riding around the city once again. Thank you CERMAK AUTO CENTER!!!!!

This place is just garbage! Plain and simple, took my truck in for a simple diagnostic and they couldn't even do that. They kept my truck for over a month and still couldn't tell me what the issue was. During the time they held my truck, I never once got a call from them letting me know that they were working on it. Please save yourself the hassle of taking your car to this horrendous shop.

I got this place confused with Cermak Auto Care. Lack of communication led to me waiting 20 minutes with the guy checking out my car before he told me they didn't do body work. I told him when I walked ion what needed doing and that the part had been ordered. Only after he looked at my car and told me he couldn;t do the work, did he tell me that maybe I ahd them confused with Cermak Auto Care

This place is the best!!!! I went through a very bad situation with my car insurance, and this place worked with me, and even gave me a loaner car while they dealt with such a horrible insurance company!!!!! They are so nice and understanding....
