I have been going to Ms Cherry for bout 2mos now, and there are no complaints at all 2hrs in and out. And she is makes you feel comfortable while you are there.

The Stylist could be more friendly especially to new clients. The woman uses language like she is in a bar. (First problem)
She uses the old school stove and some type of hot iron to straighten hair. I haven't been to a salon in years that still uses that and not a good flat iron. Those things fry your hair. They really change the texture of your hair. I didn't see a ciramic flat iron or blow dryer at all. (Second problem)
She doesn't have an understanding that products people use can cause your hair to react in different ways. So, I went swimming the day before I went to her. I use products to wear my hair curly after going swimming. When I went to her I did not wash it out because I was going to the hair salon. I figured she was going to wash my hair anyway. This woman assumed that my hair was frizzy and needed a relaxer. She has never seen my hair dry or styled. Don't assume everyone uses a relaxer lady. I'm Korean and black and my hair straightens really easy. No need for a relaxer. (Third Problem)
My hair was terrible and she thought she did a good job. I texted her and told her that I was disappointed with my hair and that when I attempted to wrap my hair and unwrap it, it was a mess. She said "I'm not sure what you did because your hair was nice when you left." Lady if that's what you call nice, you need to go back to cosmetology school. Matter of fact, go back anyway. And go to one that actually teaches you because where you went sucks. And if your clients like it, they don't know any better just like you.

I love my salon and my hair stylist. I was having such a hard time finding a stylist in Dallas. I was so thankful when I found Cherry she is a expert and very professional. In and out in 2 hours or less and my hair is always beautiful and very healthy. Cherry is awesome she is funny and very outgoing. If you need a new salon and stylist come to Ikandy Hair Lounge!!

I'm going to give you the pros and cons. My first visit to Cherry was about 4 years ago when she had a location in Plano. Cherry is an expert when it comes to cutting hair. I've received numerous haircuts from her and always loved the cut. She has stood by her promise to have me in and out in 2 hours or less but there have been times I felt rushed because she would have 3 people in the salon and trying to get all of us out in 2 hours. I also think she is on the expensive end when it comes to pricing but it matches her level of expertise.
Booking an appointment with her was difficult for me. I paid a deposit of $25 & was given one day out of the week and 3 time slots to choose from. We went back & forth on text message about the first appointment & Cherry considered it my first cancellation. I call it going back & forth to set the right time & date. So when I needed to reschedule a second time she informed me I lost my $25 deposit, even though I had given 48 hours advance notice. I wanted to share my experience so future potential customers know that if you need to reschedule more than one time you will lose your deposit no matter how much notice is given.
My personal experience is that Cherry can be over confident which comes across as being rude to customers. She didn't disclose her rules to me before I paid my deposit so I didn't know that I could only reschedule once or I would forfeit my deposit. I also posted an image of the text message so you can see that she really wasn't concerned about taking my money and not providing any service. Was in town for a funeral and needed to get my hair done. After reading the reviews and looking at the photo gallery of Cherry's work, I felt fairly confident that I would be in good hands. Cherry was on time, professional, and got me out in under 2 hours just as she promoted. I love my style and will definitely return when I'm in town!

I am extremely picky about my hair, in fact I have only had 2 stylists in my life. I have lived in Texas for 3 years but have been flying back to Colorado to get my hair done. I stumbled across Cherry and what a find!!! In addition to being extremely professional, I was in and out in less than 2 hours. (wash, under the dryer, cut and style) Her prices are reasonable but above all she is a master at precision cuts, and still offers style for long hair that is second to none! !! She is and will continue to be my stylist because she believes the health of my hair is as important as the look of it.

Here's my experience dealing with this salon! I call Cheri to make an appointment, and she tells me she can get me in and out in under 2 hours. I tell her how great this is because I don't like waiting around in a salon for hours, and that I have a small child at home, so my time is valuable. We establish an appointment for 9 AM, and I was looking forward to It. I get up, take my baby out of bed while he's still asleep, drive to Dallas in pouring rain. (This is the weekend of all the flash flooding and literal torrential rain storms.) The rain is so heavy, I can barely see and traffic is slow. I send Cheri a text that I will be a few minutes late, and get there at at 9:06, and she's got someone in the chair. No greeting no acknowledgement of my text... Just "have a seat and I'll get right to you". I sit and wait for 30 minutes... Fuming. Then I get up and ask "how much longer will the wait be?" She says 10 minutes. I tell her I'll be back because I'm about to blow a gasket. I go to my car, walk around, go to the bathroom, and come back and sit down noticing 2 other people waiting. A woman comes out and tells one the customers "she's going to do her relaxer (meaning me), then she'll finish you up. At that point I ask "is she doing all three of us, because she said it would take under 2 hours?" The woman has a smirk and points to the Cheri. I get up and ask Cheri how much longer and remind her of our phone conversation when she said she would have me out in under 2 hours. She then says "well you're getting a relaxer right? While you are under he dryer I can finish them up. (Very attitudinal... No eye contact... stone face) I then told her that I have someone watching my child, and I told them I would be finished by 2 hours. I ask her if that was realistic to do a style and relaxer in an hour and 15 minutes? She responded "yes... but you got here at 9:10... I then said "it was 9:06", and told her never mind because my time is too valuable to wait around for 45 minutes. No apology nothing... No consideration of your time. Just rude!

My first experience was GREAT! Let me add, I've been in the salon since I was 5 so I know my hair... My biggest challenge is finding a stylist that will listen. Cherry is very engaged and she knows her craft. I have/had no complaints. I will definitely be going back and I am looking forward to my next visit. I've only had 2 stylist in my life time that got it right (or close to right) the first time. Cherry is now #3. Thanks for listening and for a job well done! Very satisfied client!!!
