We couldn't get the reservation we wanted so this was last minute on a Thursday night during the art walk. The service was excellent (better than most) here, and the food was tasty. The ribeye was tender & cooked perfectly as requested. The caribbean pork ribs were served with a sweetened pineapple sauce and very tasty. I recommend the grilled vegetables with your meals. They also had some very pleasant live music. We were glad we ended up here and will likely return.

Excellent food and service. Gonzalo (owner) is the nicest person and it shows in his service and ambiance I'm the restaurant. Great tasting meat and all the dishes that we tried. We wish him much success at his new location.

Honestly, a must visit for meat eaters. Easily the most delicious meal we ate in Cabo! Think the best of pan-South American food that feels like an authentic experience but only a bit out of the North American comfort zone.

The vibe--artsy modern South American courtyard--is transportive, aided in this by the murals, lighting, flags and other decor (such as the bicycle seat + handlebars on the wall that imitated a mounted bull's head), grille, and live Argentinian music. Other diners were a mix of local and tourists, but leaned local.

For food, there was a wide array of small bites, fun apps, entrees and sides, and shareable feasts. In order from outstanding to just great, we ordered the shrimp empanadas, the bone marrow with cheesy corn, arepas with huitlacoche, and a few other empanadas and arepas. For our mains, we got the picaña (Brazilian-esque sirloin) and New York strip and the cauliflower side, which were all excellent. We ate all meat medium-rare (medio rojo) and had no digestive issues. Total meal with drinks and tip came out to about 45-50 dollars per person.

Our waiter spoke broken English, but this was no issue as we are pretty good at Spanish.

Only negative is that there was no catch-of-the-day nor octopus, which we were looking forward to. From reading other reviews, it seems like this restaurant is not reliable for non-meat eaters, which was not an issue for us but might be for you.

There were at least 5-6 other things that looked tasty on the menu, so we will definitely be back!!

      Live music and artsy mural

Our first night in San Jose del Cabo we went downtown looking for somewhere to eat. We were hoping to grab tacos at Lupita's, but the wait was 2-3 hours (it was Sunday night). We were starving and Choriarte had one table left (albeit oddly in the corner with stools too high for the table - but we were happy not to have to wait). There was a live band and people seemed to be having a good time.

The mains on the second page of the menu were VERY expensive and we didn't think would be worth it, so we just ordered a bunch of items off the first page of the menu (starters & street bites) which were more the type of food that we were looking for anyways.

The tacos and empanadas were actually quite good, better than we were expecting for somewhere touristy. We ordered one of each and all were good. No standout, but everything was solid.

Love this spot! My fiance and I stop here every time we're in San Jose and it's always so lively and fun as well as having fantastic food and drinks.

We were just there after getting engaged a few weeks ago, and the server gave us free champagne to celebrate!

If your visiting the area be sure to stop in there!

Went to new location at 31 Mauricio Castro which is a lovely setting! Enjoyed drinks with their famous empanadas as a starter then a fresh and delicious beet salad with greens, sweet potatoes, Pepitas and a wonderful vinegrette. Our main course was their ribeye steak with fingerling potatoes and chimmichuri sauce. Everything was seasoned and prepared perfectly. The atmosphere was perfect and service was very attentive. It's been a couple of years since we have been in San Jose and we were looking forward to going to Chiorte again. So worth the short walk just a couple of blocks up from the art district. We will be back!

It's not enough stars. We were there for my birthday in early November.

Great ambiance. Lovely service. Some of the best in Cabo.
We loved the food especially the homemade sausage with Arepas
      Drinks were good.
The best was the small plates.
And of course, when it's your birthday, the server had the musicians sing for me which was embarrassing but so fun.
The courtyard is outdoors so make sure you have bug repellent.

      Food was amazing!
We had an Arepa chorizo, ceviche, shrimp taco, pork shank taco and skirt steak.
Service was great and they had live music.
