Christian Brothers Automotive (CBA) does a very good job in vehicle maintenance and repairs.
An example: my Dodge truck needed its synthetic blend oil changed, and they charge 60% of what Valvoline does, 43% of what Jiffy Lube charges, and 51% of what Firestone and Goodyear demand for EXACTLY the same task-- and do a better job at it. CBA checked my vehicle for alignment, did more than a dozen safety checks, checked tire inflation, topped the fluids, and -- even with a full shop when I arrived -- my vehicle was done prior to the time promised. Even better yet, the service was done without waiting more than an hour in the hot sun as I was forced to do when I took my vehicle to Valvoline.
No up-sell or listening to an unnecessary, insulting lecture about how doing this or that $700 service on my well-maintained vehicle is going to help it run better. CBA does the warranty service on our Dodge truck, Acura SUV, Chevy sedan, and our new Cadillac -- at very reasonable prices... without the up-sell. They make money the old-fashioned way: they earn it, honestly. Can't say that about any Phoenix vehicle dealerships, I'm sorry to say.
CBA employees asked if I wanted coffee or a bottle of cold water while I waited. I can't say the same of any of the other chain "lube and oil" companies.
If you're interested in having your vehicle well-maintained, save money, and work with decent people in the process, take your vehicle to Christian Brothers Atomotive.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Chris, your detailed account leaves us truly humbled and grateful. It's heartening to hear how Noah and our team managed to exceed your expectations and provide you with the exact tires you've been seeking. Our commitment is to thoroughness and honesty in the work we do. Assisting you is our pleasure, and we strive to maintain this level of trust and quality moving forward. Gratefully, Christian Brothers Goodyear
Jan 16, 2024Previous reviewI've now had two vehicles repaired/serviced by Christian Brothers Automotive (CBA), and they've done an excellent job.
1. My Acura MDX was in bad shape from the negligence and incapacity of two different Phoenix-area Acura dealership service departments (warranty work not done, poor or no inspections: several problems got really bad, going from minor to major repairs quickly, rushing through work -- not doing what they're paid to do).
2. My Dodge RAM truck had a serious problem because the technician installing air bags in the rear suspension (for towing) didn't do the work properly, costing not only a great deal of fuel to be wasted as the vehicle wasn't re-assembled properly, but also required the replacement of all four tires.
They also did the normal maintenance that was poorly or not done at Acura and Dodge dealerships, and Valvoline (the Valvoline store in Surprise suctioned the oil out of the Acura engine after having destroyed the drain plug, leaving most of the grit and suspended solids in the oil pan. After just 1300+ miles since the last oil change, the synthetic oil looked as if it hadn't been changed for 10,000 miles (black and opaque, instead of translucent).
Both vehicles have been properly serviced and repaired: they're happy. I'm happy with the quality of work done. Their staff is very professional, well-trained, and competent.Dec 16, 2023Previous reviewI took my Dodge truck in for service; analysis of a problem; and periodic maintenance: they did an excellent job! I'm very happy with the work they did, and they went well beyond what you'd normally expect (from any place where you take a vehicle that needs service and/or repairs) to get my vehicle out the door at closing time. What's more, I'd wanted to put E-rated 10-ply tires on my truck for months, discovered a problem which retired the truck's rear tires prematurely... so I needed to get new tires on the truck. Noah found exactly the tires I'd been trying to find for months in the Phoenix area -- and got them for me at a price that was lower than every quote I could get for comparable tires.
They exemplify (are a fitting or perfect example of) teamwork. Really.
I'm very happy with their work. (So is my Dodge truck!)
So much so that the vehicle I drove to pick up the truck was left there to have service and repairs.
What they found is a testament to their integrity -- as well as a lack of integrity of the two Acura dealers (Peoria and North Scottsdale) who have maintained my MDX over the past three years, finding multiple problems that should have been found during any of the three past warranty service intervals when I took the vehicle to them... causing thousands of dollars in damages by not servicing the vehicle or fixing minor problems that grew much worse. Christian Brothers could have taken me to the cleaners... but didn't. Not so the two Acura dealerships... one (Acura of Peoria) who quoted a $1600 price just to troubleshoot the Collision Mitigation System that only needed two software updates.
It's not easy finding out that other companies' neglect, incompetence, and/or dishonesty has cost you money in expensive repairs -- they have ONE job to do, and failed miserably in the case of the two Acura dealerships I went to -- but I'd like to convey that Christian Brothers has done exceptional work on two vehicles I own and done exceptional work. Honestly, the service has been excellent; every dollar I spent was necessary -- and the prices are reasonable. Their work is very thorough; they pay attention to detail... and they're not afraid to say that an initial diagnosis was found to be in error (no charge!) when they found that a solution didn't work.
I like this company and its employees, all of whom have been very personable. I think if you look past the inconvenience of complex mechanical/electrical/electronic devices breaking down, you'll find that this is the company that you want to maintain your vehicles. I've reached that conclusion after seeing the results of three vehicle dealership service departments that couldn't figure out what their job was. Hopefully you will, too.Dec 8, 2023Previous reviewA U.S. Marine that I know recommended the business... and this individual -- retired from a trucking firm -- knows what they're talking about in my experience, Based on their recommendation, I decided to give Christian Brothers a try.
I was not disappointed. Not at all.
I'd obtained estimates from Dodge dealerships for a problem I found with my truck -- and was pleasantly surprised by the estimate and work CBA did. They sent me an inspection report, complete with photos and graphs that showed the system analysis done by the inspecting mechanic. The work was completed far below the quoted costs of those Dodge dealerships... at a fraction of the time.
The truck's mechanical problem prematurely aged a set of relatively new tires, requiring replacement: I'd known that I wanted to replace these tires soon but had looked for months trying to find what I needed by the manufacturer I wanted. Noah, our service rep, found the E-rated tires I needed, the highway treads I wanted (most of these truck tires of this rating are all-terrain types which we didn't want), had the tires delivered and installed shortly before closing time. I arrived with a vehicle I want them to work on next, and was impressed by the work done. And the price? Their cost for premium tires was below the quotes for other brands of equal or better quality (10-ply, E-rated tires) -- saving me about $110 from the lowest estimate for the high-quality tires.
Overall, of the 6-different items that needed maintenance, their work was done satisfactorily -- below Dodge dealership prices -- and promptly. Frankly, I had planned having another business replace the tires after the problems were corrected here -- but they found the tires (my #1 choice) at a lower price, why not have the tires changed at the same time they're working on the vehicle?
What's more: they warned me about a problem I wasn't aware of, one that I realize in retrospect was affecting my truck. An indifferent or inexperienced mechanic may have easily missed it.
There are many notable differences between typical automotive shop and CBA: first, their attitude. They work efficiently. They want to earn your respect. and perform to that internal expectation. They treat you like fellow human beings. Their work is backed by evidence of actual need for repair/replacement. Their shop is immaculate, and that's always a plus in my estimation. Their customers that I chatted with have been with the company for years, and everyone said they've been very happy in the work that's been done. I like the fact that during the day, I could check the status of work/repairs, etc by checking in with Noah, my service rep (hope that's his title!). I had very little time to get a lot done due to professional deadlines and the CBA team worked hard to accommodate MY schedule. Fancy that!
There's no "up-selling"....
I was impressed by how the maintenance staff pulled together to get the required work done as closing time approached, and kept at it until the vehicle was ready.... Above and beyond what I've seen elsewhere. It's always fascinating to see people work well together as teams... and these people rock.h
Running an automotive business is much like flying an airliner: you earn your customers' confidence and patronage one day at a time... every day.
I'm bringing our other vehicles here for maintenance. - Lawson B.Goodyear, AZ04Apr 15, 2024
Wow, these guys are great!! I've never been at an auto repair shop that are so attentive to the customers needs. Corey my technician was awesome, telling me his thoughts on what to do and what I don't have to do. No "you better get this or your car will light on fire". Just a great place to bring your car. I'm not taking it anywhere else!!

Been coming to the Litchfield Park and or Goodyear locations with several vehicles for years. I've submitted positive reviews in the past. That being said, I'm done. I will not be back. Their quality of service has declined while their prices have increased. 2 stars instead of 1 because they were capable of making the last repair requested. However, how they got there was a ridiculous waist of time, money and common sense. In my opinion they have lost their way, puting $$$ ahead of service.

Giving you a heads up about Christian Brothers Auto.
We took our car here because it failed emissions. They said they did a test and determined it was an head gasket leak. They recommended an engine rebuild or putting in a re-manufactured. For around $8000. They said they replaced the evap line. And then they said we should take it to All About Auto as they were not equipped to replace engine.
We were able to get it into all about auto and they said it not passing emission has nothing to do with what CBA did they test for.
All about auto personally took the vehicle to the smog check and it failed the evap. that CBA supposedly replaced. AAA determined it was a leak in the top of the fuel tank. They did a smoke test and it's not a gasket leak. They dropped the fuel tank and repaired it for $300. They took it to emission to get it tested so I wouldn't have to.
When calling CBA about their failed repair and gross misdiagnosis, they did not help or admit to anything and no reimbursement for what they likely didn't do.
Nice people working there but can't trust what they are telling you.
I will never go back there again.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Auto business still amazes me.
I've had a go to place in Goodyear, this one popped up next door to me so I tried it out.
A/C blower motor went out.
Their price... 1,300. Labor/parts.
"It's in a very tricky spot and will take 7 hours to do"
I went to my go to spot the next day... $650. Done in 3 hours same day.
The second an auto shop tell you the price and immediately, without you questioning it, goes into describing why it's going to be that expensive, you know you're talking to the wrong shop and they're price gouging you!
CBA is hiding behind a "Christian" business that is trustworthy. Total scam.
Their inspection fee was 140... my other shop, 65 and put towards the service fee when chosen to do the job there. Basically a down payment.
It pisses me off beyond belief that businesses are out there like this.
Do your research people.
I even made this Yelp just for this. Haven't reviewed on here in years and forgot my old log in info.
Good luck everyone!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I wanted a simple air conditioner looked at and they looked at other stuff I did not ask for. The money down was for $150 for nothing. They wanted $3000 for new AC Compressor and $2000 for a rebuilt with no warrenty. I will NEVER to these people again. Price Gouging and taking advantage of good people. I am going to spread the word. Going there was a big waste of time and money.

I went here to get an oil change since it's a new location close to home. I usually go to S&S Tire off Dysart (now called Big Brand Tire & Services) but I wanted to give Christian Brothers Automotive a shot. I was impressed with the friendly staff, clean lobby, and the speed of the oil change. I think their complimentary inspection report is unique and adds a layer of quality no other shop has. I mean really, the report comes with photos and recommendations for services needed. Not to mention the text updates you receive throughout the service are pretty neat stuff. However, to keep this an honest review I do want to add one area I was disappointed in but was quickly resolved.
The oil change was complete but the excess oil was bad enough it dripped on the gasket cover, radiator cover, and plastic coverings and onto my garage floor. It was a bit of a mess and I was upset. But this is an important part of the review that I think highlights how important customer communication relates to customer service. I contacted Mike H. and expressed my concern then Elijah, the manager, called me right away to apologize and ask when I can come in to resolve the issue. They even offered shuttle service or deliver the car to my place of work. The excess oil was cleaned and they handled it professionally and swiftly. I could give this a negative review or a markdown but the ability to acknowledge there was a mistake made, own up to it, and offer to make it right is everything in this type of business. I'll be sure to take my vehicle to CBA for years to come.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I chose this location because a friend had good luck. Unfortunately I did no. The Custer service is pretty good but the technicians do not know what they are doing. From breaking g parts as they are taking them off to misdiagnosis which cost me $1100 to having to return my car after each visit because they did not complete the job properly I will never be back to this location. Don't take a chance, stay clear!

Took my car here today; was kind of curious on them. I just needed an alignment. I prefer to do my own repairs but I don't have a way of doing an alignment so that job I usually contract out. I thought the price was a little high but I guess it's been that long since I have done an alignment lol, gone are the 69 dollar alignments. But the staff was courteous and kind. They gave me a text with the report which included pictures of everything they did find needed work. Which it was all stuff I can easily do. The only thing I was disappointed in was that they recommended replacing my air filter and it's a K&N filter and I have a sticker on my car. A little detail noticed and it's should have just been stated to clean it. But that's probably me being picky. All in all I would go back for this type of work again. Oh and they shuttle you from and back too; which is a really nice touch as well on the customer service side. Thank you.
