Totally enjoyed our haddock.
Was actually drinking a beer at Soul Fire, and saw a Churchill's special on a board. I'll post the pic, but basically it was food and drink. Since I l already had a beer, and Thuy wanted a (non-alcoholic) drink, we thought the special sounded good.
Thuy goes and orders, and when she gets back, says, "No drink!" WTF I think, it's right there, on the sign. Thuy says food will be brought out, and I think, "Good, I'll get to point out the sign."
To make a long story short, we point out the sign and they make good on the drink. Kudos.
The fish was fantastic, as was the mushy peas, coleslaw and fries. Only thing missing was the malt vinegar. So I wander back in, not very hopeful (they did bring ketchup). But to my surprise, they do have packets of malt vinegar. Totally made the fish, which was haddock by the way.
Great service and very enjoyable food. Mushy peas were also quite good.
Bottom line: Only thing I missed, is the fish wasn't served in a newspaper, like it was in the U.K. But I have seen other F&C places use something that looks like newspaper.
Bottom line: Yummy!
PS. Did not find our fish to be greasy at all!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Apr 16, 2021
I'm British so I'm always on the look out for proper fish and chips. Churchill's did a good job. The batter and fry was good, I believe the fish was cod. They were out of proper chips the day we came and used curly fries instead - which weren't bad. The plate is around $10-12 which is great value and was very filling. I didn't care for the coleslaw or mushy peas - but I never do anyway! A proper knife and fork would have been good though, it's difficult to eat with plastic cutlery. But now when I'm craving a taste of home, I know I can come to Churchill's!

I've been craving some good old' fish and chips, lately, like my Skipper's Seafood and Chowder House experiences growing up in Idaho.
Most of the local places I've tried have been a bit of a disappointment, but today I gave Churchill's a try... and am I glad I did! Wow!
The cod fillet was HUGE! The batter was crispy, not at all soggy, and it was hot to the touch, even picking up and taking it back to my workplace to eat!
The thick cut fries (laid as a bedding for the fillet) were crispy and lightly seasoned, giving a perfect crunch that wasn't overwhelmingly salty.
Creamy tartar sauce was a flavorful compliment to the fish without being too tangy. The cole slaw had a bit more of a vinegar flavor, but since I don't put actual vinegar on my fish, it was a good fit as well. I'd never had mushy peas before, but those were tasty too!
Overall a great lunch... more than I could eat in one sitting. Thanks for rekindling some great memories.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jul 28, 2021Updated review
Went today for Lunch. Reaffirmed Best Fish and Chips in DFW. My wife had Fatso Cheeseburger and son had Texas Fatso. They loved the burgers. Of course we had to have a Pokey O's ice cream sandwich for desert, which was great! Great food! #support local!

Very greasy. They evidently tossed the fish into the styrofoam container without letting it cool as it melted the toxic container onto the fish. Slaw was glooped in mayo. Hush puppies were cold and way too sweet. Chips were just ok. I probably won't be back.

Owned and operated by the same folks that own Fatso's Burgers. Amazing fish and chips - some of the finest that I've ran across in the states! Comes with the mushy peas - just like in the UK (former UK anyway). Like the fries here more than the ones at Fatsos even! The shrimp is also good at Churchill's and they have an "all you can eat catfish" on Wednesday and Sunday that shouldn't be missed - see photo!

What a great place to get great food and coffee! You can hang out as long as you want. Food court style with 6 different types of food establishments in one location. We had the fish and chips and it was so yummy! What you see pictured on Yelp is the real deal!! Definitely will be back for more. My snickerdoodle latte was superb just as she suggested it would be! When coming here look for Oak Street Food and Brew. It is where the Plaid Peacock used to be if you are familiar with Roanoke.

I've eaten here three times over the last month. Best batter dipped fish I've had in Denton County. Large filet, good quality fish and ALWAYS hot and fresh! Price, service, quality and portion size have remained
consistent each trip.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gennadiy T.Keller, TX502320Oct 27, 2020
Staff wasn't wearing masks. Like, at all... We decided not to stick around to find out what other health rules, regulations, and guidelines they were flaunting.
