Amazing gnocchi! Haven't had any better and I have been tried gnocchi in Italy! Why travel across the world when you have it in your own backyard! As well as amazing staff!
I'm only missing caffe corretto for the true experience!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan L.Foothill Ranch, CA2041Mar 26, 2024Updated review
I wanted to provide an update after speaking with the owner regarding our experience.
The owner was extremely nice and apologetic and took immediate action to make it right.
Although it doesn't change our initial experience, it definitely means a lot that she really cares about the experience her patrons have and wanted us to give them another try which I think goes a long way.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Mar 24, 2024Previous reviewWe really really wanted to like this place and with the number of good reviews we were hopeful!
Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed.
First - their food is really expensive, especially for the portion sizes. We paid $90 for 2 dinners & 2 desserts which we 9ordered to go.
The meals each came with a basic small salad & 2 very small slices inof plain white bread.
The Lasagna was ok, nothing special. It came in a very small square container & for how small it was, you would at least expect a typical stacked high, multi-layer portion but it was also pretty flat.
The Pappardelle & Bolognese was horrible! The noodles were raw, it was cold & inedible, we only ate 2 bites & threw the rest away. It was actually pretty disgusting.
Also, the raspberry sauce that came with the Lemon Ricotta Cheesecake had fuzzy mold floating on top.
The pictures of the food on their website are very inaccurate compared to what the actual food looks like & the portion sizes.
It's not even like you could justify the price if you choose to dine-in & have a nice dining experience. It's a deli/market with a few basic tables & chairs.
We will unfortunately never eat there again. - Sonia R.Rancho Santa Margarita, CA63257Dec 9, 2023Updated review
We love Cibo. We ordered from their catering menu for our Holiday party and everyone couldn't stop talking about how delicious the food was. We thought we'd have leftovers but almost all of it was gone. The chicken Marsala, potato gratin, and penne pasta were so flavorful. Their Kale salad is by far the best salad I've ever had. And you can't go wrong with their tiramisu.
We'll definitely be ordering more. And the owner is friendly and helpful. Thank you Cibo!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Aug 23, 2019Previous reviewSoooo my husband surprised me with lunch, and lo & behold it was from Cibo. Before I indulge you, I have to give you my credentials; I'm from New York City AAaaannnd I'm part Italian. I've been to Italy where my family owns a restaurant similar to Cibo, they grow their veggies in their garden like Cibo. Their cibo (food) is incredible just like Cibo.
We had their panini with their tomato soup. The bread was baked to perfection and dipping it in the soup was so flavorful.
Apparently I've never had real cheesecake...because I had their cheesecake for the first time and it was divine. It was light, airy and sweet. The raspberry syrup was sweet yet slightly tangy.
Please support this establishment, RSM really needs it. I'm tired of all the franchises, aren't you?
P.S We love it here so much we had them cater our son's Birthday party. Everyone absolutely loved their food and they even had a gluten free pasta for our friend who is allergic. Their kale salad was bomb. And their cannolis are authentic! The real deal. Enjoy!Aug 7, 2019Previous reviewSoooo my husband surprised me with lunch, and lo & behold it was from Cibo. Service was great which is why they get one star. I got a sandwich, spaghetti and meatballs and bruschetta to go. The total was $58 I stopped in on a whim so I wasn't really prepared but I thought that was pretty expensive nevertheless. It was 6.30pm on a Friday and deader than a doornail inside. When she handed me the bag it felt light considering how much I spent. Upon inspection in the car I thought I was missing the bruschetta. Turns out I wasn't. It was 3 of the tiniest slices of French bread. Like 2 inches each. For $7.95. That's not even the worst part.
The meatballs were SO small and came 3 for $15! I had no idea they were going to be that much by themselves! I paid $12.95 for the pasta and $15 for 3 meatballs?! The tiniest meatballs of life?! The size of a cheese ball. Unreal. I'm sick about it. This is why I always read menus in advance because you can get cheated!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janet Y.Trabuco Canyon, CA07Apr 23, 2024
Couldn't be more pleased with the charcuterie board I ordered from Cibo. It was an absolute piece of art and quite delicious. Thank you!!!

Cute Italian restaurant with authentic dishes~
Cibo is a small local mom and pop Italian restaurant, they have various choices of pasta, sandwich, and side dishes.
The store is located inside a small mall with other eateries, there are few table and outdoor seating.
They also have a small Italian grocery selling dried pasta, sauce, and condiments.
During lunch hours they have selected lunch deals ($15-$20).
My Bf got the lunch special carbonara which comes with a soda and small side salad ($20), I got the Turkey lasagna a la carte ($21). (Dinner comes with salad and bread).
The dishes here are on the lighter side, portion is not too big.
My Turkey lasagna was not too heavy with brightness from tomato sauce, pasta was super fresh.
My BFs carbonara was milky and not too heavy.
A little pricy but overall the service is fast and dishes here are authentic, would love to try the desserts my next visit~Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Susan ..Lake Forest, CA01Apr 28, 2024
If you read the reviews it is not breaking news that the owner is not friendly or appreciative of her customers. That's why I would never eat at the restaurant. However, I have been going there to buy olive oil (approx $25/bottle). The first time I bought it, I also added a couple of items. When she rang up my order it was much too high, so I asked her to check what she had rung up. She then saw she had charged the olive oil twice. Corrected, but no apology.
So next time I bought olive oil was last week. Paid with my AmEx and signed at the POS terminal. After completed, she said it was denied. Seemed strange to me because that never happens after signature? She asked me for another card, which I gave her. But immediately checked my AmEx when I left and saw it was pending. Yesterday, I went back to show her the charge had cleared and also presented my Mastercard receipt and asked for a credit. Again, no concern or apology. She asked me to send an email about the AmEx charge. Huh? I said no. She then tried to credit my Mastercard charge, but after a couple of minutes said that didn't work. So I said, OK, please just give me another olive oil. She then advised that the price had gone up since last Saturday. I told her, well apparently I bought two last Saturday, so please give it to me. She angrily handed me a bottle and I left. This is very poor customer service, at the very least. There was absolutely no concern for my experience or time.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marcelo R.Rancho Santa Margarita, CA86327Apr 7, 2024
I only get mortadella, prosciutto, and some cheeses from Cibo. Tried pizza some time ago but not to my taste, I like the good old Neapolitan pizza. meatballs were ok but $$$. Good market section where you can get Italian sauces pasta anchovies and some frozen meals. Service is great, with authentic Italian attitude :))

The lady at the front was pretty rude this evening. I instantly regretted giving her our business.
The portions were fairly small, taste was OK.
It really was the lady's unwelcoming face and body language that makes me want to never return.
Made me kind of sad too as I had an appointment with my oncologist today, I'm going through chemo, it's my daughter's 10th birthday and she loves Italian.
I thought this place would be cute and comforting but I was wrong. Shame because it had potential.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Donna K.Orange County, CA022Mar 29, 2024
I tried this for the first time for lunch today and it was fantastic. I ordered the gnocchi with tomato sauce, perfectly cooked and honestly made my day. I will be trying more dishes soon!
