City Fish & More

My husband ordered Tilapia, fries, coleslaw, macaroni and cheese for him and our 9 yr old son. I had a tenderloin and fries. Everything is made fresh and generous portions. We did carry out since the dining area was not available. After a 15 minute drive home, it made no difference as everything was warm and delicious. They also have a nice variety for those who want something other than seafood. We will definitely return!

Overall good quality very helpful staff , Had a couple pieces that were a little undercooked but overall great food lots of options great place to eat if you like fish

I haven't had City Fish in over 10 years until a few days and now I know why. The food is really good...it's the service or lack there of. I'm a customer and I will feel like it's an honor to give my money to a business. With that being said, I'm also very polite and respectful so instead of accepting "huh" or "who" when I give my name over the phone when placing an order to go, or getting a "yeah" to a question I ask, I'll just go someplace else. I refuse to accept being spoken to or treated like I'm bothering an EMPLOYEE when I'm patronizing a place of business. I can't say enough about how good the food is, however, there's no food or nothing good enough in this world for me to not be treated with respect or even just the standard of doing business with an establishment.

I moved away from KC about 15 years ago, and have always craved this place for the catfish and hot sauce. Needless to say, after that long of a hiatus, they still don't disappoint. It's just as good as I remember!

I love the fish from here. I stopped in and got a huge box of fish for us to eat on Thanksgiving. This time I called in the order and picked it up in the drive-thru, which worked great. They have a fairly thorough menu online. Remember, drive-thru is ONLY for called in orders.

Don't hesitate to go in and order either. They have tons of choices. We love their catfish, but have never disliked any fish we've tried. Their macaroni salad and cole slaw are very tasty too and not your standard store bought variety.

This place is awesome! They have the best fish ! Seasoned to perfection fried beautiful golden , they definitely know how to take care of you !! Testament to their longevity!! Try the bass it's the best !!

This is the best fish place in town in the City. If your ever craving fish this is definitely the place to go! They never disappoint

So far so good! Just place an order over the phone and I could tell they were getting a lot of calls bc I was placed on hold and once she was done she got to me and received another call while taking my order where I was placed on a brief hold again. Don't get upset bc she moves fast but has patience while you're making your order. Don't take all day though...I kinda knew what I wanted.
So portions are good, food taste good and I recommend you try them!

This has been a favorite for a long time and one that I don't get to indulge in much anymore. Which is probably a good thing for the waist line!

There are a bunch of options on the menu. A handful of fish selections, chicken tenders and wings, some sandwiches, a bunch of sides, and a few desserts. Outside of the sides, I can only speak to the catfish. Excellent! Nice boneless filets with a light cornmeal breading, fried perfectly. Served with tartar or hot sauce, I get both and make a hot tartar sauce that is perfect.

There is a huge list of sides, but if you get a dinner that giant list suddenly becomes about six. This is what prevents me from going to that fifth star. When eating a pound of fried fish, a person likes to justify it with a healthy selection for sides, well at least I justify it that way. The only healthy side they have is green beans and this isn't even an option with the dinner. You can get fries, fried okra, three mayo based salads, hushpuppies (I think) and maybe a couple of other fried items. If you want a different side you can not substitute and have to order it separately (even though many of them are the same cost individually.) This is a major fail for me, both the lack of healthy sides and the lack of being able to get them with the dinner.

Service is always great. The ladies will take care of you. You may not get super friendly, but I have never had a rude experience. They are efficient hard workers that any employer would be proud to have.

The restaurant can be a little messy during busy times, but the overall cleanliness is suburb. You can tell they take pride in the business.

They have a drive through, but it is only for call in orders. Don't expect to pull up and place an order. Go inside and order if you want it to go.

I would love to see this business become a citywide franchise, my waistline wouldn't, but best fish place in the city! And add some veggies! :)

Not everyone can do Catfish right, but this place can! Well worth a road trip to KCK. Fish is cooked to perfection. Hush puppies are delicious. The hot sauce is the best I've ever tasted.
