Not open until 11 as suggested on site. Not sure about how good this place is, but drove 40 mins to find out it wasn't open.

Ran into this place a few days ago to get a bottle of champagne Moët was 65.99! I thought something was off because I don't recall paying that much so I just compared it to the price at total Wine and more where I usually get my alcohol .. and it was 47.99! So total rip off would not recommend it

City Liquors is easy to love because they have such a great selection - lots of beers at decent prices, AND they carry Barritt's Ginger Beer, which is hard to find 'round these parts and makes the perfect Dark 'n' Stormy.
We can always find South American beers like Sol or Brama here, and they have reasonably-priced liquor.
My gripe? The parking lot is so effing scary to get out of - I always feel like someone is going to come buzzing up North Main and take my tail off. The remedy? Park on the side street. Done and done.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Kim P.Somerville, MA5170Mar 7, 2010
Good selection of wine and spirits - reasonable prices.
I buy most of my 'adult beverages' here.
They always check my ID, which makes me feel young - lol.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Scottie M.Barnstable Town, MA3172591076Mar 25, 2013
This is by far my favorite place in all of Providence to stock up on all my alcohol necessities!
Being a "younger" person, I feel that every time I walk into a liquor store I am almost treated like a criminal. I feel eyes on me at all times as I make my selection as if I might be underage and trying to steal some sort of beverage. Not here, each time I walk in the door I am greeted by a very friendly man at the counter. "How ya doin' bud?" I love being able to walk into a store and am able to converse freely with the staff. He always asks me about my business and remembers what industry I work in.
They have the best selections of wine, beer, liquor, and liquers. I am always able to find the brand that I am looking for and I even find treasured new brands to try - all at the lowest prices in town I might add!
Whether I be in the mood for a smooth glass of riesling or heading to a party where I need large quantities of vodka and dekuyper, I always make my way over to North Main street and visit my favorite little liquor store!
Cheers!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 7, 2014
Not gonna lie, I've driven by this place multiple times, and have always been on the more skeptical side, however, the store is surprisingly large and carries a fair number of microbrews, wine collection, and a small, yet pricey hard liquors (I'm primarily referring to scotches). The staff was very friendly and the establishment is very clean. I'd probably return for future beer purchases, at least for other people.

Buy 2 or more bottles of wine and get 10% off. We live nearby and this promotion seems consistent. They have a decent wine selection, and it seems as though their beer selection is growing. The parking lot looks scary, but I've parked in it and have been fine, and I drive an SUV. It takes a little maneuvering, but I turn around in the parking lot and then can safely pull out onto N. Main. You have more room than it seems because of the parking lane space in the street off of the parking lot (and of course no one can block the parking lot). I just avoid the parking spot to the far right. There's also always the street parking option, either on N. Main or on one of the nearby side streets.

City Liquors is the bees knees for two reasons: it's cheap and it has a HUGE selection of beer, wine, and liquor. I could spend hours in this place! Did I mention it's in a really convenient location?!
The future misses and I were recently on a hunt for some fancy pale ales to pair with a wonderful tomato soup with grilled cheese croutons she made that evening for dinner. This was the one liquor store on our way to the gym that had exactly what we were looking for: Maine Beer Co.'s "Mo" and "Peeper Ale". If you're into really fancy craft beers they apparently do special orders, just check their rather spartan 1990s style website: http://www.riliquor.com/.
Side note--I will have to try their special ordering out when we pair clams with stout later this month! I haven't been able to find Goose Island's Bourbon County anywhere in town and I see they have it available on their site--my mind is blown!
Finally, I share everyone else's gripe with the parking lot. It's always a tight squeeze. Solution--side street. Perhaps the awful parking situation serves two functions though: to keep away the crazies and the uber rich. Lets be real, who REALLY wants to deal with the Whole Foods parking lot?
