Beware a potential hazard zone awaits. Three stars deducted for the AFTERMATH.
One star is for friendly service and on time arrival.
The second star is for the appearance of the tub once the job was complete.
Now I'll give you the gist: The property management contracted this company to reglaze the tub in our second bath. I was given zero preliminary instructions other than an underestimate of how much time the whole process would take and a warning about fumes. Of course I instinctively figured out that removing personal effects from the bathroom was necessary but I'll explain the extent of the transformation shortly.
The strong odor and likely hazard from the fumes requires an extended evacuation from the unit. I remained on the porch for most of the process (about 5 hours) and in my car for the last portion (more than 4 hours). Yes, the entire job took roughly 9.5 hours and after a whole day of waiting the final clean up was only partially complete. After it was said and "done" I remained away for an additional 6 hours. I didn't use the shower/tub for 72 hours because no one bothered to tell me how long the refinishing takes to cure.
No offense to the worker who came to prep and glaze but he was a trainee. He was very polite and he did his best to be accommodating yet our combined novice and complete unawareness proved a bit inadequate. He covered many things throughout the unit which has an open floor plan. I closed off the bedrooms and refused to have the exhaust piping run through a bedroom to access a window. No one had bothered to mention the need to run the exhaust duct. As a reasonable option the duct ran out the front door. To avoid toxic exposure the plants on the front porch were, thankfully, covered per my request.
Equally as polite as the trainee the painter arrived about 5 hours in and he moved some plants and secured a few things for protection. Admittedly I had evening plans so 9.5 hours for setup, prep, glazing, and painting was all I could spare. I peeked at the tub and locked the door after the clean up was "complete". Doing a thoughtful inspection had to wait especially since the fumes were overwhelming. Upon my return I noticed powdered residue spread all over the floor due to sweeping rather than mopping. Residue was also obvious in the closet adjacent to the bathroom, on the stove about 10-12 ft away from the bathroom, and on other items/furniture as far 20ft away. Wow, what a nightmare, plus the shower head was left unmounted, tape and covering hadn't been completely removed, and plastic sheeting was left in one area.
Boy was I grateful for the built-in exhaust fans and air purifiers I left running. The next day the on-duty property maintenance worker agreed, thankfully, to come in and complete the unfinished mounting, overspray sheeting removal, and floor mopping. Commercial Bath should send their workers better prepared, trainees should have assistance, plus patrons deserve much better cleanup and fair warning about the arduous process.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Angelia,
First, let me apologize for any inconvenience. The process produces great results but does create dust.
Second, we require that property managers sign and get tenants' signatures on a written outline of the process, what to expect, about the fumes, what to cover, how much time it takes, etc. We have on file the disclosure form you signed explaining the procedure, about the dust and fumes, the amount of time you need to vacate the area and that it must be prepared for our techs per the instructions. Additionally, the form says that the work will not proceed without your signature and the area properly prepared. Since you signed the form and prepared the area, we did the work. We would be happy to supply you with a copy for your records.
We've spoken to our techs and re-stressed the importance of covering and cleanup. Thank you for the opportunity to improve our service.

Not sure about how the coatings will hold up but they look good. It was a head ache trying to schedule through the main office as the lady can't seem to get it right the first time but the project happened as scheduled. The installer was a little sloppy (I had to scrape white dots off the cover of the bathroom garbage can and repaint a shelf) but the finished product seemed acceptable. There were rough spots in a few places, not sure if that is typical or not - never had this type of work done before. Ideally I like working with people who communicate with each other so the left hand knows what the right hand is doing but it looks OK.

As a Property Manager of an Apartment complex in Cypress, CA we have been using Commercial Bath for over Four years and the results continue to be amazing. The whole team along with the technicians that do the reglazing have been amazing to work with. The finished products are great addition to our apartment turns and the counter tops in the kitchen and vanity areas always look amazing and any repairs that may need to be done are always communicated to the staff and always are repaired within a timely manner. I will continue to recommend Commercial Bath.

My mother has had her home for 30 plus years, wanted another look for her tub and counter tops. I contacted Mr. Garcia, which may I add is very polite and professional. I was suposed to contact the office, but graciously took my information and set my appointment up. They go over and beyhond what they are supposed to do. The out come was great, too. The techs that came out where very respectful, & great dealing with elderly person with questions.
Thank you again for your service. Yes I would recommend them, to family and friends.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sid P.Redwood City, CA4044Jan 9, 2018
Our apartment manager hired Commercial Bath Refinishing to repair peeling glaze on the tile walls in our tub. They did a good job with the tub and tiles, but they left more of a mess than I think they should have. We found:
- loose paint flakes stuck to the walls of the bathroom
- paint flakes scattered on the bathroom floor, in the carpet of our bedroom, and elsewhere
- a layer of white powder/dust on our bedroom furniture and kitchen counters
- thin sprays of white paint/glaze on our bathroom walls (maybe at tape joints that weren't well sealed)
- paint/glaze on our bathroom sink counter
It seems like they didn't adequately control the dust and flaking from their sanding process. And they didn't do a thorough clean up afterwards. Also they had moved some of our furniture but didn't put it back in the original place.
We weren't excited to come back to our place having to search for and clean up paint chips and dust.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I am thrilled with my new sinks!! I am helping my mother clear out her home of 48+ years and we had two sinks that were in horrible condition and the only way to replace was to do a full pull out renovation. They made things to last in 1962...but, the parts don't always last that long! So I found Commercial Bath Refinishing on Yelp and they were wonderful. The pricing was good and very competitive with other similar business in the area. Mark was my contact person and was very helpful and knowledgeable during the estimate. The worker who did the work Noe, was thorough and did a good job and the next day, Mark came over to see the work completed...which I very much appreciated. Now the actual work is long and the fumes are horrible, but they do warn you if you read the prep sheet they send ahead of time. I also had a handyman put a small ding one of the sinks after completion but before I had even put in the faucet and drain again, Mark came out and touched it up and it looks great. I cannot thank them enough for all the "above and beyond' they did to make the job as painless for me as possible. I am juggling quite a few contractors and they were one of the easiest parts of our updates. Thank you Commercial Bath Refinishing!!

I just wanted to take a moment to brag about Danny Sr. and his San Jose team. I have been using Commercial Bath for a few years now and had some ups and downs with the team. I must say that Danny and his spray technicians are very professional and take great pride in their work. I highly recommend Commercial Bath (San Jose) to my industry partners, sister communities and anyone that needs work done in their homes too. Danny and his team earn and deserve their salaries and more.

I'm a property manager for Equity Residential. I have used Commercial Bath to refinish countertops, bathtubs, sinks, etc at numerous properties over the last several years. They are always professional, quick to respond, gets the job done in a timely manner... They also offer a 5-yr guarantee on all work which keeps me going back time and time again. I have a very high standard for all vendors I choose to use onsite. I know Danny and his team will never disappoint. I recommend Commercial Bath to all my sister properties, comps that I have relationships with, and all homeowners (residents, friends, and family.)
I have personally used them as well! I had my countertops refinished in my kitchen and bathrooms about 3 years ago and have not had any issues with the work that was completed. They haven't chipped, cracked, or peeled... They still look as if they were done very recently!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jacqueline W.Emeryville, CA352229Mar 12, 2018
We have used Commercial Bath Refinishing for resurfacing counter tops in our apartments and Vicente Ramirez has been the Field Representative for our apartment community for approx 1 1/2 years and has done an amazing job in overseeing the work that's done by the contractors. He always has a great attitude, friendly to talk to and makes sure we are satisfied. I have used this company since 2013 and are please with the work they do and the customer service given.
