Was heading to Annie's Cafe, but they were closed so we flew by the seat of our pants and stumbled into this place. Seldom have we stumbled or flew in such a blindly awkward manner. We ordered Biscuits and Gravy... not good. The gravy was paper mâché consistency and relatively tasteless. It was accompanied by some of the worst sausage links I have ever eaten (could have been spoiled). The eggs and muffin were more edible, but the bacon was very, very salty (over-cured?). Couple poor food with a dirty floor and an obviously over-worked waitress, and you have a "stay away" breakfast. I don't write 1-star reviews very often (my third out of 346) but this place worked hard for it. I believe the cook could of been a customer working off a gambling debt... just a guess on my part.

I walked into the restaurant, the owner of the restaurant was at the table next to the one I sat at. She offered me a napkin and left. Didn't ask what I wanted to drink. I was there for 15 minutes before I just got up and left.
      Very rude

I ordered it on DoorDash from this place and it was a mixed review at best.

The fried mushrooms were very watery and canned. They did not dry them first so biting into them you got hot steaming water. The crust was weird. Not much flavor and hard. Need more of a light batter with lots of seasoning.

The wings were delicious. BBQ wings with a blue cheese dressing to dip was a great combination.

Side salad was simply copied iceberg lettuce. No tomatoes, cucumbers or shredded carrots. They threw iceberg lettuce in a container and cake it a salad.

The main meal was a chicken fried steak with loaded mashed potatoes. I found the container of cheese in the wings. The butter and sour cream also had their own container.
The problem arose when they poured the heavy all over (which is great) in the container. By the time it got to me, gravy had spoiled out and all over the bag. Not much gravy left for the meal.
      Bad packaging for delivery.

I have to admit that we passed this place up the first time we drove by. It didn't look like much and I couldn't find it on Yelp. All we saw was the huge sign that simply said, "DINER". It's amazing that the people in this town appears to only eat pizza & fast food. So we turned around and found the Diner. Certainly we can order a salad if this turns out to be an all meat establishment. Turns out this place is actually a casino with a diner. We hesitated but the growling in our tummies told us to go in. Surprisingly, the place was crowded. The waitress, looking distressed told us to sit anywhere. We found an unoccupied booth. Looking over the menu I decided that I'm either going to just have dessert and have a peanut butter & jelly sandwich later, or I'm going to eat something that will upset my stomach since I haven't really had any meat in over 2 years.

On the second go around of the menu I saw they had mushroom burgers. I've always wanted to ask if I could order that with out the meat. Kind of like the way I order a BLTA, hold the bacon! This was my opportunity and I took it.

The waitress looked at me over her glasses and said, "So you don't want the meat." I said, "Right." She gave me a sigh and wrote it down. I also made sure I was getting real Swiss cheese and not plastic American cheese. Husband ordered the chicken salad and a cup of soup.

I have to say, for a little mom & pop kind of restaurant, this one is good and flexible. I'm not really sure if they charged me for the full deal mushroom burger, or if it was discounted because there was no burger.

I felt sorry for the waitress. I overheard her say that she is the only waitress on duty. She was hustling. We left her a nice tip.

I've been here multiple times with my boyfriend and have had outstanding service in the past, but tonight was shameful. We came in an hour before closing, and I know the feeling given my prior experience working in restaurants, but I never was trained to treat the guest like a parasite. The server was highly disgruntled and unorganized, and half the things on the menu were things they didn't even serve. The over-expensive nachos we ordered as an appetizer, which looked like they were made in the microwave, came alongside our dinner. Our server was just obscene and unprofessional the entire night and it made us very uncomfortable. I even overheard her tell her coworker to tell some patrons that they closed in 15 minutes.. that was at 7:10. Unbelievable. I'd say come here in the morning, not at night.

The Copper City is nothing fancy. Just a hard-nosed working-class greasy spoon reflecting the down-to-earth blue-collar culture of Butte. It's not Applebee's, it's not TGI Friday's, it's not even Denny's (not to mention that it closes at night). It doesn't strive to be anything more than it is. If you can get past the live keno, the no-nonsense service, and the hard-bitten atmosphere, you can find decent indie diner food here.

I tried their special Grilled Cheeseburger Melt, which was basically a plain cheeseburger with grilled cheese sandwiches for buns. It was quite tasty. Time can easily be spent in this place talking to a friend or playing the live keno. The service may not be lightning fast nor so annoyingly cheerful you'd expect them to wear a vest festooned with buttons, and they won't exactly bend over backwards to your beck and call. But they do their job reasonably and adequately. A lot of the clientele is usually older folks who probably, at some point in their lives, had connections to the Anaconda Copper Company, which balances out the customary families with children as far as atmosphere.

The Copper City used to be a lot more smoky inside prior to the statewide smoking ban.

Not the place for those who have moral objections to gambling, nor for those trying to kick a gambling habit.

The food is less than mediocre. I had the chicken fried steak which was massive in size but not very good. The kids macaroni is microwaved Kraft Mac n cheese. I get that this is butte and not NYC but this place just lacks in every department. The live Keno was neat but that's about it.

Service was good. Food was okay. Coffee was terrible. If nothing else, a diner should have good coffee, and this place didn't. Inside had a dirty feel to it. I don't recommend the sausage patty or link, both resembled brown and serve sausage from your grocers freezer section.
