Corner Cafe

I made a quick stop for an ice cream craving since this spot is right down the street. There were very limited options for ice cream and even less for toppings. Many of the containers were empty. What really rubbed me the wrong way was the poor customer service. Only one woman was working when I arrived and no one else was inside. I was never greeted and waited minutes before I finally spoke to figure out how to order. The woman was short and unfriendly and I did not feel very welcomed. I ordered a couple of scoops and then left. Not sure if I will come back and may just make the longer trip to get better options and better service.

This spot is nestled right on a corner off of M.L.K....you can't miss it!! I've seen it many times in passing, so it was just time for me to stop in!! Ice cream, all day breakfast, & more!! Let's GO!!

Their Red Strawberry Slushy ($1). STAMP!! Fruity, & not over sweet!!

Their Fried Fish Sandwich (with 3 large pieces of Whiting $7). STAMP!! Drizzled with hot sauce, HOT, crispy corn meal fried...WINNING!!

Their Wings & Fries (7 wingettes, with fries, & their Corner Café sauce $6.30). The chicken, fries...DELICIOUS!! The Corner Café sauce had a hint of Old Bay with a tip of sweetness...STAMP!!

Their Steak n Cheese (with green & red peppers, onions, tomatoes, American, & provolone cheese, & mayo $10). LIKE THAT!! Meaty, flavorful, stuffed, & surprisingly tasty!!

Their French Toast (with strawberry drizzle, & confectionery sugar $5). STAMP!! No syrup needed, well cooked, crisp, & fluffy!!

Their Banana Pudding Sundae (2 scoops of banana pudding ice cream, with fudge drizzle, whip cream, & chocolate sprinkles $5.15). STAMP!!

Looks like a rough part of town for this city boy...but just what I was looking for. Nice lady behind the counter and the chef knew how to make a po'boy. The buffalo chicken po'boy was fried fresh and the sauce was just right. Most people soak the chicken with buffalo sauce and it gets way to salty and I love salty. This man seasoned it just right. Nice soft roll with all the topping. It was a good size for like $12.

Loved it.

I have the fish sandwich and breakfast on my hit list. I don't get to that area often, but I just might be a regular. Thank. you.

p.s. they also have several flavors of ice cream, but limited or now seating.

They food is fresh and prepared well. The staff are friendly and professional. The ambience is light and cheery.

Food is bomb no complaints at all, French toast are great size full of flavor. Potatoes and onions are outta this world . Can't wait to taste other items
