With nearly everything on the menu being either gluten free or vegan friendly I was super excited to check this spot out with some friends. We caught them on their first open weekend post shutdown and were one of only two parties dining in that morning but the walkin/carry out line was pretty steady which tells me they're doing something right!
I did the ham and cheese scram-bowl which was the perfect amount of salty and hearty with finely diced ham and topped with fresh herbs. I really enjoyed this dish but I did mention to our super friendly waitress that the potatoes seemed to be overcooked, the bottom of my bowl was filled with extra EXTRA crispy bits (honestly it looked like a griddled had been scraped off and put in the dish, I know that's not what it was but you can see for yourself). She assured me those are the onions and peppers and that's how they are prepared in the wok...based on the pictures online I still think they were well done and I'm blaming maybe the cumbersome carryout line that they may have been left a bit too long? I picked at them but more crispy than I would have liked.
Our group also did the stuffed waffle which is exactly as it sounds pick your fixin's and they literally put it in the waffle iron with the batter, a classic waffle, and I think the last one was the Italian scram-bowl (breakfast potatoes also well done).
They participate in the First Friday Artwalks downtown and feature all local artists in the artwork they display inside. I love everything Cray's Diner represents and that Cray is back there slangin' all the gluten free and vegan goodness himself. Super nice guy and I made sure to holler into the kitchen to thank him for breakfast on our way out. We had a great first experience despite the potatoes (which are clearly not the norm) and will absolutely be back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Amber J.Marylebone, London, United Kingdom21117Jan 19, 2020First to Review
Absolutely love this place! I am vegan and my husband is Gluten free so finding restaurant options particularly in Bremerton can be tricky, but Cray's is PERFECT! Their gluten free and vegan food is the best we've ever had but If that's not your thing they have tons of full gluten and meat options too!
The not so pulled pork sandwich is incredible and the breakfast burrito, OMG! They are also really nice people, such great service! I would go every day if I could!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Alissa D.Bremerton, WA052Mar 11, 2021
I don't want to ruin their rating, but it seems they're closed according to their Facebook page? Their website doesn't state this and neither does yelp. Their phone just rings and rings and eventually hangs up on you, no voicemail to inform customers. I've tried calling a few times, I'm super disappointed.

Great food, great owner. Couldn't ask for more. They are always adding to the menu and are willing to work with almost any dietary restrictions. Best eggs I've ever had. Amazing Mac and cheese. They take ordinary dishes and make them extraordinary. I highly recommend this place.

Great place to eat. Love it, just what Bremeton needed. A place where everyone can eat and enjoy each others company. I had the Momo scramble and my son had the classic burger and we shared vegan pancakes. Food was amazing and the staff was great. I will definitely be back with friends. I hope they do some dinner hours in the summer.

Perfect location for both regular and vegan needs! Cozy location with beautiful artwork inside. The owner is a really cool dude! Guess what his name is :)

Big time approved. I've brought multiple friends here with all kinds of dietary restrictions abs preferences. I'm personally vegan and there's a lot to choose from. Whether it be chick'n and waffles or a pulled pork style burger, its so well done. Conveniently a walk from the ferry and just next to the co-op, there's no excuse not to check it out. Also great staff

Owner is busting his backside during this trying time. We stopped in and we're his only dine in customers. Since he was by himself it took a little while to cook four breakfasts but the food was absolutely delicious. Hope to visit again before we head home.

Freaking amazing! The burger was cooked perfectly and beyond yummy! Normally a burger is just, "meh it's a burger." I could've ate 3 of them. Bravo! The fries were delicious and very addictive. My coworker had the mushroom burger as well. All eye rolls and "Mmmm" sounds coming from her taste buds! Thanks for the epic lunch. We'll be back. Sorry no picture, ate it too fast lol
