After reading reviews we said hey let's try it! George's review was spot on. As we entered we weren't sure where to sit but the bartender was GREAT and friendly!!! We enjoyed sitting at the bar talking with some regulars.. We ordered the captains fisherman's platter and the King clam boil. They were awesome. Left with about 2 1/2 pounds of steamers there were so many.. Sure their were a few sandy clams but us being clam diggers know that comes with eating clams. Just swoosh them good in the broth then butter, delish!! As we were sitting at the bar we seen dish after dish came out looking so yummy and great portioned. Can't wait to go back to try some of the dishes we seen go by.
Thank you we came hungry,left stuffed to the max..Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Fraline F.Sterling, MA14224Apr 6, 2019
We ate here today for the first time.
Our waitress was very nice. We had steamers
for a appetizer. They were good.
We had the fisherman's platter. I really liked the
shrimp, very tasty. The scallops were very sweet!
The fish was really good.
I really liked the coating that they used.
I can not give a thumbs up to the clams however.
They tasted funny. We love fried clams
and we know right away if they are good and I can not say
that these were! We probably would go back and I would
definitely get shrimp and scallops but I would never get the fried
clams here. I just cant recommend the fried clams here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Michelle L.Bullhead City, AZ3161May 24, 2019
This is it! I was very impressed with the menu and got the clamboil dinner. When the waitress brought it I thought this is the wrong order because it was beyond filled to the brim for a single order. The clams were sweet, tender, and yummy. The linguica was perfect. My cousin's husband also ordered it and there were so many clams left between the two of us that he made chowder the next day!
My cousin ordered the shrimp Mozambique and she was very happy. Between eating clams, buttered pops, and a cold beer, my toes were tapping
Thank you so much for bringing back memories of great meals like my aunties and uncles made when I lived in New Bedford.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Helmut W.South Dartmouth, MA010Feb 26, 2022
The nicest servers around. Seafood is priced high everywhere, here they provide you with a respectful plate. King Clam Boil was $29.99, +qt.of clams, linguica, hot dog, potato, sausages, corn on the cob, portuguese roll. butter and broth. Fried clam and scallop plate $27.99, plenty! Oh, the beer and bar drinks are nice, cold and decently priced too!

We got the best clamboil in the city. The scallop and clam plate was plentiful and delicious. Don't expect a cheche crowd. A restaurant you come to eat at.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Teri C.East Freetown, Freetown, MA82Apr 22, 2020

All I can say is that you will not be sorry you came here! No phony image, no pretentious act, just great food in a relaxed atmosphere with all the details. Clamboils are their specialty! The service was excellent.

This place. Me and my husband are from NC and really wanted some good seafood so we looked up places by where my husbands sister lives. We decided to try this little "hometown" restaurant a chance. BIG MISTAKE. I got food poisoning. It was disgusting and just looking at pictures of the food that I took makes me want to throw up. I ordered the clam chowder and the captains platter. All in all. Don't come here unless you wanna throw up all over the Dartmouth Mall and not stop until about 1 am. Save yourselves. This place has ruined seafood for me.

I love Danny's and have been a loyal customer for over 30 years. I love everything on the menu but almost always order the seafood platter. Danny's usually does seafood right.
Today however I was very disappointed. I ordered the seafood platter and was shocked when it arrived at the table. The fish, the scallops, the shrimp looked amazing. But the whole plate was topped with what I think was supposed to be fried clams. When I say the clams were tiny I'm not exaggerating. They were not even the size of a dime. They were scrawny and a weird color and were almost unrecognizable. I didn't see the bellies which is my favorite part of the clam. I've never been served such horrible fried clams as these. I'm posting a picture to prove my complaint.
My husband said I should have sent them back but I have such a hard time doing that. I'm still in shock that the server ( almost everybody in this restaurant is family) would bring this out and put it in front of me.
What happened Danny's ??? It will be a while before you see us again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
