If you see the Dear in your driveway, LOCK YOUR DOORS & RUN!
This company is deceptive, fraudulent and preys on the elderly. My 93 year old grandma had a small leak that she couldn't find. She Googled for a leak detection company and Dear Services came up. She arranged for them to come out to find the leak. The minute they stepped into her house, they ignored her repeated request to focus on the leak and fraudulently and aggressively coerced her into signing a contract (& home improvement loan) to replace her water tank and all of the plumbing lines and fixtures in her 1600 sq ft, 1.5 bath, single level, open crawl space home for $44,000! They told her that they would replace her water tank with a tankless system that "hangs on the wall" and showed her a piece of corroded pipe that they claimed was from her home. The pipe they showed her was so clogged and corroded that barely any water could get through it. How were they able to bring to her a piece of her own piping without turning the water off or running any tools? I'd love to know. She repeatedly told them that she wanted them to find the leak before they did any work. They told her that they checked the toilets and said those were not the source of the leak and promised to send the leak detector machine out the next day to find the leak. She repeatedly told them that she had macular degeneration in her eyes and couldn't see the contract they put in front of her, but they had her sign it anyway and told her she had three days to cancel. They did not give her a copy of the contract and an hour after she signed it, before anyone could even possibly have had a chance to review it for her (had they given her a copy), they had two technicians out to the house to start working. They never sent her a copy.
They told her that they would install a tankless hot water heater, and instead they installed a standard 50 gal tank with an expansion kit that was not installed to code (not secured to the wall & too close to the tank). The new plumber she got later said it was so close to the tank that it would damage it within 2 years. When she questioned them about the bait and switch, they said "oh that is what we are going to install in the pool house" (a detached ADU on the lot) and my grandma said "oh no you are not. I specifically told you not to touch anything in the pool house and that you were not to do any work out there." The next day the leak detector guy came over and, in talking with him, my grandma discovered he was a 3rd party contractor, hired by Dear Services. The first thing he did was check the toilets and found one of the toilets was the source of the leak. Supposedly, Dear Services checked the toilets the day before and they said they weren't leaking. Another lie. After the leak detector left, my grandma decided that she did not trust Dear Services and called them to cancel the contract. Dear Services only worked on her house for 5 hours on that first day. Two technicians. During that time, they replaced her hot water tank, installed an expansion kit on the tank, and put MULTIPLE holes in her walls around the house to access the plumbing. For that, they are charging her $7000! A week later, she still does not have a copy of the itemized invoice.
My grandma found another plumber to come out and look at her house and he said she didn't need to replace any of her plumbing. All she needed to do was reset the toilet and replace the flange. Less than $200 of work for the plumbing, but thanks to Dear Services, she also has to find and pay someone to repair all the drywall.
Dear Services is a horribly disgusting and predatory company. They should be absolutely ashamed of how dishonest and deceptive they are and for taking advantage of an elderly person. PLEASE spread the word far and wide - protect your friends, protect your family. IF YOU SEE THE DEAR IN THE DRIVEWAY, LOCK YOUR DOORS AND RUN!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chrissy J.San Francisco, CA01Apr 26, 2024

I asked Dear Services to perform a service check on a furnace they installed for me last year. They did. They warned me that the pressure was too high and I needed to have something done to relieve that pressure. They said my duct work was leaking, had some connection issues, and needed to be cleaned. They did not say that would fix the pressure issue. When they finally came back to give me a quote, for Aeroseal, duct repair and cleaning.. they quoted $12,900. I asked them to send me pictures, a video on aeroseal, and to break down the quote into separate services. They only sent me the quote. And the one they sent me was $14,000.!!!!!!
I googled Aeroseal. Average cost is $2000.
I spoke with another company, land for a single level home of 1400 sq ft,they quoted $3600.
I know dear services ripped me off on that furnace, but this was an attempt at highway robbery.
Be careful if you call them in for repairs or even a quote.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Gerardo G.Seattle, WA011Apr 18, 2024Updated review

Run from this company. You've been warned. I can't say anything good bout this place.
Helpful 3Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 1Jul 9, 2023Previous reviewThey were supposed to be a one stop shop. They turned out to be a 1000 time nightmare. Run from Deer Run...you have been warned. Read the entire post going back 2 years. David (owner), may the fleas of 1000 camels find your bed. Karma will get you. Also look at the 5 star ratings...all people with no pictures and no other reviews (not all but the majority) . Again you've been warned. All these people with horror stories, we should all get together and do a class action suit on Deer.

Again...just avoid this place.Apr 21, 2022Previous reviewpoor communication from office to employees about what the job entails. For 36k you would expect it done all at once in a perfect world. But I understand that's not how the world works. Will, the electrician was awesome though. Great communication skills and aims to please. Chris the sales guy is a typical high pressure sales person, nice, but high pressure though and a "sign now" type of sales tactic.Today on the last of one of many labor visits, the job was completed. Paid in full26k cash around 10k credit
Oh we also have some 5 year service agreement which is useless for the generator as they are not authorized by generac to work on the generator, and if they would it would void the warranty.. I just hope they take some time to try and upgrade their communication skills. I feel bad for the workers who show up unprepared and in the dark about what the job actually entails.
I will say that when the generator was first delivered it was the wrong one. It was the size smaller than on invoice. They did find and deliver one that was the next size up at no charge. So that was nice. We had already waited 4/6 weeks. And we all know 2020 was a sh:$ show with covid. Again the work got done but it was a long time and a lot of wasted man hours by some times sending one person. I was still having problems with the generator in the late summer of 21 and again they were unable to help fix it. Numerous codes populating and they couldn't fix because they are not authorized by Generac to work on the generator....if they do it would void the warranty. I was able to get a authorized service company Black Hills out of Olympia
Now fast forward to 2/22/22 RUN FROM THIS COMPANY called Deer. Do not buy a generac generator from them as they are not authorized to service so they won't. And a generac needs a 25 hour service that's super important, (when Chris sold us the service plan for all the work there was to be 2 services on the generator in the first year alone) the oil needs changed and the valves need adjustment. And again they are not authorized. Will is no longer with them and supposedly they have a guy that's going to go get authorized to service but those classes are not scheduled as of this date. Don't let them tell you different. BLACK HILLS SERVICE out of Olympia is authorized and the first service is 900$ plus tax....deer should have taken care of this seeing they sold it but again they are not authorized to service and before I found Black Hills I asked to deer to come so the service...was told not authorized blah blah blah. So so much for there service on generators ...go to their competitor WA electric out of Seattle, wa electric won't touch any generac sold by deer, again this was a fact I found out about afterwards but is important to know. I really feel that deer got lucky with this because there would have been a lawsuit had the valves feel into the head. When Blackhill came today the valve needs to be sat at 5 thousands....it was 40 thousands and barley hanging on. Had it dropped into the head the engine would have needed replaced and that's when I would have really lost it on deer and sued them. Anyways thankfully that didn't happen and the generator now that it's been serviced be BLaCK HILLS , runs and sounds better then when it was put in new. ( this review was written over a two year period as I had numerous back and forths with the company , deer, and didn't want to piss them off to where they wouldn't deal with me at all, seeing that I was still trying to get the generator fixed properly) but now that I have found Black Hills in Olympia and had the generator serviced properly I can now post this. I say that because I could give a rats ass what David and his lackeys in the office think about me now. Which to be honest they probably could care less seeing they have the money. I can say had the generator failed due to their not service ing it because they are not authorized too there would have been a lawsuit. I even thought about calling Jessie James. I mean you have to realize this back and forth went on for almost a full two years. Numerous appointments made and cancelled. Numerous days taken off from work to have them never show or call and then be rescheduled. A complete nightmare I'm glad to finally be rid of. Just recently they have been texting me to come out and service the furnace I also purchased from them with there fake service plan, all the service plan is , is to get them into your home to steal more cash from you. RUN FROM THESE PEOPLE RUN!!!!!! And lastly... to David, you sir will have karma wipe away ur world one day
Jim MayMileski published this review 4/21/22. work was purchased fall of 2020, install started in dec of 2020 , my last dealing /appt was early winter 21, black hill was found and called and came and fixed that problem in Jan 22, also a full service of generator in Feb 22 by Black Hill.
RUN FROM DEER, DONT EVEN CALL AND GET A QUOTE, DONT SIGN ANYTHING. - Shel S.Bonney Lake, WA0272Apr 5, 2024
If I could leave zero i would. Just like another review someone left this company tried to snowball my elderly parents!! Tried to pressure them into a contract for a bid 4x what anyone else was bidding! Be careful! Be smart! Dont sign anything until you get other bids! And if you are older maybe have your kids or friends help oversee the "contract"!!!!!

If I could give a zero I would. I purchased an A/C unit and new furnace from this company about 2 years ago. They left the cover to our crawl space open and they didn't hang our new refrigeration lines they installed.
We recently called them out to do service on our system and ducts. An employee named Daniel JC came out told us our system was outta wack went under the house and claimed we had an infestation and that he found dead rodents (he took pictures of some light damage on the ducts but not of any proof of any rodents). He said that he needed to call his project manager to get us a quote for the damages.
Insert Robyn M she shows up and tells us everything that is "wrong". She fear mongers and tells us that if we run our system we could blow up our house. She quotes us 21k for new ducting for the house, then contradicts herself and essentially tells us that they did a poor job to begin with.
We called and got a 2nd and 3rd opinion both laughed at DEAR services opinions and quotes. They proceeded to tell us we got ripped off on the install and that they were trying to charge us at least double what it would've cost us to run new ducting for the house.
Long story short run away as fast as you can from this place. You've worked to hard for your money to throw it on the burning piece of garbage that is this company.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
