Desert Dog Daycare

We and our two dogs love this place. Dogs get good care and are always excited to go back. We have used daily and overnight options.

I boarded my dog here three times and I do think there are some great qualities, but we ran into some issues that made me eventually not send my dog back. Every review for daycare is so positive, however we only needed boarding. If you are looking for daycare, this review won't apply.

For the good! They were SO flexible with drop off and pick up, and even once let us come by before open so that we could catch a flight. The facility is clean and it feels well maintained. I also loved the emphasis on enrichment.

The first time he stayed, everything was great! He was tired but happy.

After the second stay, he came back with very sore paws, to the point that he was limping and bleeding. We ended up needing to put a cone on him for a few days so they could heal. This wasn't incredibly concerning since I knew it was concrete and gravel, and my dog doesn't have an "off" switch.

Before the third stay, I put a note in the booking letting them know about his last stay, and asking to make sure he was monitored closely for limping/licking, and to give him a break every few hours. When I dropped him off, they assured me they would do that. When he got home, he was immediately limping, and then over night had diarrhea and was vomiting. I called in the morning and they did not seem concerned whatsoever, told me to let them know if he got worse, and that they were monitoring him and he seemed fine. I don't have a way of knowing if he was monitored, but from the outcome and lower staff numbers, it appears that he wasn't. What ultimately got me was the lack of concern for him being sick within a few hours of coming home and being ignored for my concerns.

Eric my sisters pup is obsessed with this place! I'm writing this review for her, because she's so busy, but I know how much she loves this place! Also, I've seen first hand how excited Eric is when I've dropped him off at desert dog. I can't drop him off fast enough! He loves it! They have multiple different rooms. Some are inside, and some are out. Because it's in an industrial neighborhood the dogs are free to be dogs. They can bark loud and play hard without the complaints of neighbors. You can watch your pooch while you are at work on their dog cams. They don't separate by size. Even though Eric is a wire fox terrier, he considers himself a big dog! He likes to socialize with bigger dogs. His ego is bigger than life! The staff clearly loves him, and he's always so excited to be there!

I can't recommend Desert Dog Daycare enough! You can tell everyone who works there really cares about the dogs. We've been taking our pup to daycare for several months. He loves it and all of the staff are great with him. The webcam and enrichment activities offered are great, too!

I can't say enough good things about Desert Dog Daycare! Our pup goes about once a week to get some social time and she loses her mind with excitement the second we pull into the parking lot. It's clear she fully enjoys her time there, and always comes home happy and tired.

The staff here are the most wonderful people, and I feel so at ease knowing they're watching Lucy. Every time I drop her off they greet her by name (small thing that makes a BIG impact) and it shows that they truly care and get to know each dog.

We recently boarded Lucy here for the first time and Alicia was so patient and helpful in answering all of my crazy dog-mom questions. She was super accommodating of my requests and made sure Lucy was comfortable and that I felt good about her overnight stay.

Also, the dogcam is super fun to be able to spy on your pupper throughout the day!

Our 2year old husky mix has been going to daycare at Desert Dog 2 or 3x a week for a year now. She loves it there and is always pulling and eager to get inside. The staff know her well and take good care of her. Would highly recommend!

We love Desert Dog. We always know our fur babes are taken care of & they're safe. We've used their services for boarding while we're gone and never worry about them. When we pick them up after staying there while we're gone, they come home exhausted from having so much fun with other dog friends they meet!! There is always someone walking around making sure the pups are playing nicely. We love the webcam to check in on our dogs & they always send us a picture of them while we're gone. We LOVE Desert Dog.

I board my 2 terriers with Desert Dog when I am out of town. The staff is great and my dogs love it. My male pup whines at me to go back when I pick him up. They are very easy to use; once set up, you can schedule everything online.

I absolutely love Desert Dog! I had been taking my previous pup to them for about 2 years before she got sick. The staff truly cared for my dog and even donated to her Gofundme account to seek advanced veterinary care. Flash forward to now, I have a new puppy who has been attending day care for about a month and she loves it there! I always get cute updates and pictures of her. Desert Dog will not just take care of your dog, they will love them! They do fun activities with the dogs all the time.

During Covid the drop off/pick up procedures have changed in a good way. They truly make it a safe environment for us fur parents.
