I recently came by for a UYE with some Yelp friends. I'd heard of this spot and had even driven by, but you don't usually go to a board game cafe solo. Glad to see this concept expanding in Vegas. D&B has a good selection of games as well as a menu of hot and cold beverages, and a few food items (pastry case, sandwiches). They're across from UNLV and have discounts for students- typically, fees are $5 to play from their store selection of games. I do feel that it should be a purchase OR game fee, but they did not complain that we brought our own games.

Location is charmingly decorated, game selection is decent, and I like that they have actual food and drink here. Service was nearly nonexistent. Other than when I went up to order our items, no one was going around checking on tables or greeting people as they walked in, which would be an area to improve upon. They did seem to have several regulars, and they were surprisingly busy for a Saturday evening.

It was nice and clean...s. (Yeah, yeah, sue me.)

Dice and Beans Board Game Cafe was the site tonight of a little gathering which I had with some Yelp friends. You guessed right: it was board game night.

They're located across from UNLV, in a plaza which I visited once for building co-occupant Chewy Boba Company. Stephano's is adjacent, and Mr. Sandwich is also nearby. The parking lot had plenty of room to breathe even though the cafe itself was almost completely full when I arrived in the early evening.

I didn't need any savory or sweet foods, but I happened to be in need in something to keep me alert. Unfortunately, they didn't have their cold brew coffee available, but the employee was quick to list off several coffee and tea alternatives. I eventually settled on the iced coffee ($3/20 oz), which had plenty of caffeine and wasn't too bitter. I didn't ask which sort of beans they used, but my guess is medium or dark roast. It was a good value, even though I forgot to ask about the 10% off Yelp check-in offer.

Eric S. brought his own games (thanks again!), so we didn't have to pay the $5 fee ($4 for UNLV students) for any games from their library (which appears to be quite solid and is listed on their web site). It looks like we could have pulled games from the free games table though.

The employees didn't bother us at all, which I appreciated because it helped us to stay engaged in our board games. On that note, it wasn't too loud; it was actually almost dead silent when we were left as the only table and we weren't engaged in gameplay or conversation.

Wi-Fi is also free, and the cashier provided me with the password when I asked; it appears that at least one customer was there for laptop productivity purposes rather than board games.

I'd be happy to return to Dice & Beans for board game nights in the future. It was a good atmosphere and served all of my immediate needs, except for my desire for that cold brew.

I needed a spot to lay low while my homies were watching their wrestling show. Here was my experience on a Saturday afternoon.

      AMBIANCE:
Parking: Plaza parking with plenty of parking, it seemed pretty empty but the campus seemed closed so depending on the semester it might be busy or not.

Seating: Group seating all inside, it can house about 50 people.

Feels: The plaza is filled with other eatery and errand spots. As for the cafe itself, it's pretty big and spacious. You're greeted with the sounds of lite rock music and some chatters of people playing games, studying, or catching up. It's a quite odds and ends place with the simple but random decor.

      FOOD:
      Matcha (Recommend)
For something on the safe side this is your go to. It was a sweet, earthy, smooth drink. Kept me up on the late night drive back to CA.

      CUSTOMER SERVICE:
      Pretty solid. Order came timely

      TL; DR OVERALL:
4 Stars. Good menu, reasonable price, and chill vibes. Board games and coffee is not a new thing but I'm glad they have one pretty close. If you're looking for a break from The Strip, this is your spot.

      TIPS:
      * If you want pastries, come early as they do go out.
      * Check-In for discount.

      Matcha!

My brother and I are huge board game fans. I can firmly say this is the best casual board game cafe in Vegas! The decor is adorable and all the tables have unique quotes burned on them. I ordered the dICE infinity mocha which was tasty. I loved that the tables have detachable cup holders so that I would not accidentally spill the drink on the board games.

The fee to play board games is $7 for regulars and $5 for UNLV students. I asked if they could take my UNR student ID and my brother's CSN student ID and they gladly accepted that. Thanks for extending the discount for us!

As for the board games, there's a huge selection of fun games. We played a game called "Photosynthesis" where you plant trees and collect sunlight to win. We had a blast! I'll definitely come back to play more board games. Whether you want a cool place to study or hang out with your friend, I highly recommend this spot.

      Mood - tea

Upon entering we were greeted with great customer service. We were asked if we had any questions regarding the menu plus given handhelds to make the choices easier.

We opted for the Chai Tea Latte Blended & Inifinity Mocha. The Chai Tea Latte was the true highlight of this experience.

Interior is several seating arrangements, from booths, to a sit up counter. You can rent games for a nominal fee, or check out their free options as well ( which there are several ). Everything was very clean.

Would def recommend- pricing was reasonable. Plus if your a UNLV student you get a discount. Everyone was very friendly with their salutations towards us. This was very refreshing. We will definitely come back.

FINALLY! AMAZING local coffee within walking distance of campus!!! I got a large lavender latte and a caprese sandwich (I added bacon), and it was a perfect lunch. And for under $10 with a UNLV student discount!

The latte is seriously perfect. The espresso is rich and smooth and not bitter in the slightest like you tend to get at Starbucks or Dunkin. I added lavender and it was the PERFECT amount of sweet for me, just a tad but tons of flavor. If you like your drinks on the super sugary side I'd recommend adding 2 flavor shots. I was blown away at how affordable this place is for such tasty coffee and such large portions!! Definitely not one of those "7 dollars for a tiny cup" kinda spots.

The sandwich was delicious and perfect for a lunch portion, and only $3!!! The mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes all tasted fresh and the ciabatta roll was excellent too. Perfectly crunchy and soft simultaneously. Food take a little bit to make so I wouldn't recommend it for a super rushed lunch break!

The atmosphere is wonderful, very casual, clean, cute, and original! A total hidden gem in the sea of chain coffee and fast food this campus is surrounded by. Delicious, great prices, and very sweet and welcoming service.10/10! Trendy food at atmosphere without the "trendy" prices!

Visited this little gem today and what a beautiful shop!!! Loved the Tiffany blue colors wall and all the little details of the shop. They have the cutest saying on their tables! Plus the employees are extremely nice! I almost wished (almost!) I was back in school because I'd be here studying and drinking their coffee in between classes. Speaking of coffee, their iced Infinity mocha was delicious!!! It was the smoothest coffee I've ever tasted. There were no bitterness or aftertaste to be had. Just perfection in a cup. Too bad they're so far from where I work coz I'd have that everyday if I could.

As a board game shop, they have copious amount to choose from for a small fee. I can't wait to bring my friends and family here to play some of those games. Will definitely be visiting this beautiful shop each time I'm in the area.

I came here for a club meeting and I'm definitely coming here more often!! The store is very clean and the atmosphere is just right - every table was respectful in the amount of noise they were making but it didn't feel like you had to be quiet in there either. There's a table filled with free games to play (with a drink purchase of course). This table has all the regular Hasbro board games like Monopoly and Sorry, as well as standard games like Chess. But then there's these two giant bookshelves filled with special board games like Cards Against Humanity, King of Tokyo, Settlers of Catan, and even multiple DND kits. As someone who plays board games a lot with my family and friend, this was heaven!! Unlimited play on those games are $5 a person but $3 if you're a student :)

As far as drinks go, I tried the iced infinity matcha and it was one of the BEST ones I've had so far! It's nice and sweet and to make it even better, they give a great student discount! I would def come back here just for the drinks, especially because it's just right across campus.

I believe the owner was the one working and making the drinks for us. He was very kind and gave us drink recommendations as well as giving a rundown on which board games he thinks are great. It's very inspiring to see a business owner that's genuinely passionate in what they do and you can just tell he loves what he does.

Overall this place is amazing all around and I can't wait to come back here with more friends! :)

The UNLV area is in great need of coffee spots, so this joint seems like a great edition! After seeing great reviews on Yelp, I was excited to check it out. It's located conveniently close to campus and the idea of a board game oasis mixed with a coffee shop is equal parts charming and brilliant.
I enjoyed my coffee. I've tasted many cold brews in my day and this one did not disappoint. However, at just over $5 for a 20 ounce cup, I found the price to be a bit steep (especially given that their primary clientele is college students).
It seemed like they had a good variety of board games available, but I did not partake. Much to my surprise, patrons actually have to pay to play the board games. I'd understand if there was a fee if you didn't buy a drink or food item, but the fee exists regardless. That said, the fee is quite steep, it's $5/person for UNLV students and $7/person for non-students. The cashier explained that paying the fee allows you access to any game for the whole day. That's a nice deal if you plan on being there *all* day, but not if you want to enjoy a cup of coffee and some scrabble (i.e. what my friends and I wanted to do). I SO wanted to love this place, but I left feeling SO disappointed.

I love this place! I ventured out of my green tea zone this time and added a flavoring of pomegranate and it was very refreshing! This time I played monopoly to pass time in between my classes. The environment is very chill and the staff is always friendly!
