I'm a bit of a physical therapist and massage enthusiast. As proof, Anne is my fifth Rolfer. And, since I am a bit of a connoisseur, I can say she is truly excellent! I went in for general maintenance during a period of change in my life and to help get back running (literally.) Anne is thoughtful, gentle and effective, and also timely and professional. Plus her office is close to the Metro and she has online booking!

If you don't know what Rolfing or structural integration is, the quickest explanation is it's like chiropractic work but for your soft connective tissues. It's deep tissue body work to make lasting change in the body and I consider it like couples therapy between me and my body. It's hard to describe what it feels like as it depends on you, and the Rolfer's style. Some people find it painful, I think it's relaxing and can a little emotional. Think slow pressure applied by hand, and guided movements. Anne was very considerate and checked in regularly to ensure she didn't cause me any pain.

I just had the best run in the last decade. I feel great. And it might be a coincidence but I've bought a house, examined my priorities and who I am and want to be, stood up to several work bullies, started eating healthier, and am happy when I look in the mirror. If Rolfing is something you've been considering and you're in DC, you're lucky to get to have Anne as your Rolfer.

After a year of back/hip pain, immobility, and stiffness; thousands in medical bills, and countless hours doing therapies that didn't stick....rolfing with Anne was a savior. I don't know how it works, but it works. After one session, I walked out in significantly less pain. I felt taller, could walk with cringing in pain. She knew exactly where I needed adjusting and I'm grateful for her help. I've had two sessions and am getting back to moving again. I plan to continue for regular tune ups.

I can't say enough great things about District Rolfing! After seeing Anne for years, she has consistently provided help whether in person or virtually in this new environment. I will happily provide a referral to her for anyone that is willing to look at a deliberate and thoughtful process to body alignment.

I've worked with Anne both in-person (pre COVID) and virtually (over zoom) and have always been really grateful and even surprised at how helpful she is. I've had chronic pain, especially migraines, for my whole adult life, and seen probably half a dozen other people I thought could help -- massage therapists, physical therapists, a chiropractor, a neurologist, another Rolf person -- and was pretty much ready to give up on being able to reduce my pain. But from the jump, Anne has been really knowledgeable and helpful, not just during sessions, but also giving me resources and tips that I use to ease and prevent pain. She's super flexible, inquisitive, and oriented to sharing what she knows and treating me like an expert on my own experience. I never ever feel like she's bullshitting me. Highly highly recommend working with Anne, especially if you have ongoing / seemingly intractable pain.
