This place is a joke. I brought my Xbox in on Thursday, by the following Wednesday I still did not receive a phone call from
Them with their diagnosis. When I called them they told me that their game repair technician had been out sick, and that's why they had not called me. When the repair man was finally able to look at the Xbox he said that it required a brand new disk drive at a cost of $140. When I called a REAL video game repair shop they said that replacing a disk drive is not a possibility. When I went to pick up my Xbox here, they told me they didn't have it here and I had to go across town to get it. When I got there they told me to go back to the other place to get the remaining pieces of my Xbox. Stay away from place at all costs!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Brenton N.Las Vegas, NV23242200Dec 23, 2013
Being pretty technically savvy, I was actually pretty embarrassed to go to the doctors of technology to fix a problem that I had. However, I had tried everything and I was not able to fix my computer. My computer is a custom build and I built it from the ground up myself. For some reason after a move to my new house I plug my computer in and it only powered on for a second and then instantly turned off. This might usually be a sign that it is your CPU, your power supply, or worst-case scenario; it's your motherboard. *Que in that DON DON DON Transylvania type tune.* Being that I concluded it was probably my motherboard, I realize with my busy lifestyle that fixing it myself was going to take a little while; I have to order a new motherboard, the motherboard would have to be shipped to my house, and then I have to take my old motherboard out and put my new motherboard in. If you've ever had to do this, it's a pain in the butt. This place was only offering $99 to do the whole thing, so I decided that it was worth it.
Miraculously, however, after they did their FREE diagnostic, they concluded that it was something I would've never guessed. The USB ports on the front were shorting out my board. To be honest, this is just something that you don't expect to happen. What made this so miraculous, was that they were honest with me. They could've easily told me it was my motherboard and probably would've gained something from the markup of the price of the new motherboard. Instead I got out of there for $45, went home, and then I fixed it myself.
In the end, I was very happy with the service I received from the doctors of technology. Beyond that, the staff was extremely professional and very prompt with their follow-up phone calls. The prices for their services are extremely reasonable, and they only charge flat fees instead of per hour labor like many other places.
Mind you, I probably don't fit the typical stereotype of the person that drops off their computer. But I really appreciated their honesty and I will be sure to send customers their way the next time I have a friend who wants ME to fix their computer.
They also are a mobile service, but they do have storefronts located throughout the valley in case you want to bring your computer by. I have nothing but good things to say about these guys.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Yvonne D.Las Vegas, NV07Aug 28, 2013First to Review
I took my laptop to Doctor's of Technology's store on Rainbow, where I met Phil. I told him about my problem and then asked about price. He stated their flat rate but then started talking about how my problem is usually very easy to fix and so it would be a lower price. This was all promised with a 24 to 48 call from the tech with an estimate.
Three days later, I am calling the store and ended up with a promise that the tech will call me back shortly. And the tech did. Then he starts reading his copy of the work order. That is when I found out that Phil INVOICED ME THE HIGHER PRICE. I did not see it on the work order I had signed and Phil did not even mention it. Imagine my dismay when I got the final price.
Using the time frame that the store had given me, I was expecting my laptop repaired within four days. However, I was disappointed again when the tech said that he would start working on my laptop right away, three days later. Credit must be given to the tech who completed the repair in 24 hours, albeit reluctantly.
When I finally was able to rearrange my schedule to pick my laptop back up, I told that gentleman how NOTHING I was told would happen, had happened. That guy just said, "Oh, it was Phil. I don't know what Phil said. He's off today."
Just great.
Well, I have a friend who was looking to get some computer repairs done and after my experience here, I told her to try some place else.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ryan M.Las Vegas, NV1111Sep 12, 2014
I had many issues sending emails from my laptop. I thought this was from a virus which it was. I brought it in to Doctors of technology and they found many traces of viruses which they removed all of them. All my email issues were fixed and I'm back in business. they were very professional and very honest! I wish every business had a model like theirs! Well Recommend to everyone!
