We have a unique obedience program. We come to you and work with you and your dog putting you in the leadership position. We come to your location once a week and leave you with certain exercises to practice with your dog during the week. Our program includes; 10 obedience commands, potty and crate training, leash training and loose leash walking, bite inhibition, recall, boundary and distance training, greeting other dogs and people politely, excitement redirection, anxiety reduction, house manners and 2 field trips in the public arena. Our methodology is operant and classical conditioning, no punishments only praise and rewards for the right behavior. We simply ignore the wrong behavior. The dog hates to be ignored and loves to be praised so you see how this works. We never give up on a dog or handler. If your dog hasnt learned we continue with the program. Your dogs learning however depends on you providing practice 2 times a day for 20 minutes each session. There is no quick fix in dog training. You must put the work in and it will be worth it. We guide you every step of the way. It isnt difficult, its fun. And you end up with a well behaved happy dog. If you have a puppy we start them as early as 8 weeks, 7 weeks if the dog is a giant breed and is wiened. Its best to start early but we teach old dogs new tricks all the time. Please see our website and give us a call and tell us about your goals with your dog.

Updated** in response to her response. Because contrary to the narrative she's presenting, I never initiated any conversations with this nut. She kept writing me. Until I finally responded. I never asked her a question about anything. She started giving me unsolicited advice that proved to be of zero utility as I already tried it on my own and told her didn't work so I'm adding screen shots of our entire communication. I don't even do things like this but I genuinely believe this lady is troubled and her capacity for recounting a conversation accurately is nonexistent despite having a record of it herself. If I deleted anything from this thread, please Theresa post those screenshots, because I don't have a reason to lie about any of this. You are the one that needs professional help to deal with them demons you're fighting.
Where do I start. The owner of this place, I believe her name is Terri is absolutely nuts. I made an account on bark.com a couple months ago after I was gifted a puppy I wasn't ready for due to long work hours. This lady reached out to me with her spiel, I didn't respond because she didn't have enough reviews on their site for me to determine if she was a good fit. Weeks go by and she kept reaching out aggressively until one day I did respond. During this time I was ready to rehome my pup due to my crazy schedule. She was aggressively trying to convince me to just hire her which I was hesitant about because again, my schedule was nuts and her price was great but she was aggressive so that was a red flag. The pup ended up going back to live with his doggy parents and is living happily. Fast forward to now, I got more time to spare and a new pup so I go back onto bark.com, reached out to two trainers that have credentials to back up their work unlike this lady, but I guess the site shares your info with all trainers because here comes crazy lady with the aggression basically upset that she paid to get my contact info only to find out she's reached out to me once before and I'll post here the entire conversation because this conversation was totally childish. On bark.com one of her reviews is literally someone who didn't even work with her complaining how aggressive their correspondence was with her. This lady is absolutely unhinged. I don't understand how she has good reviews on google but they are from years ago which makes me believe once upon a time, she was a decent person. Today, she is a maniac, desperate for someone to give her a few dollars and their dog. Side note: the photo I sent her is a photo of herself she sent me unsolicited. And for the record, I am not a republican lol.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This individual is the nutcase. She aggresively contacted me with a million questions about how to train her dog. I spent about 1/2 hour texting her all the answers to her questions. She then tells me she actually plans to rehome her dog after wasting my time. I didnt contact her again until I recieved ANOTHER request from her about training her dog. What she did was reposted twice on the lead generation platform called BARK. She refused to close her request as BARK had asked her to do. That allowed her to repost asking us professionals to pay another fee for the priviledge of conracting her. Not knowing who this new request was coming from I paid for what should have been a NEW potential client. I soon saw all her previous messages to me and realized she was a dreaded reposter. I informed the lead generator about her and they kindly returned my money. However, shes the one who lost her cookies because I told her I knew that she had innapropriately repisted and informed her that us professionals have to PAY per individual post. She said so what and told me to relax. She didnt care at all that she was the dog trainers nightmare and got really rude with me so I responded in same which is exactly what this idiot deserved. Shes been flagged now so everyone will see that should she repost AGAIN. I do not have to act cordially to that type of individual and she got a verbal beating which I shared with other professionals who claimed they knew about her. I told her I would NEVER work with her and she took offense. GOOD!!!! I dont allow ANYONE to treat me like she did. Shes the perfect KAREN. She is not interested in training or even taking care of her poor little dog. She cares NOTHING about wasting your time. She LIED and said she didnt repost but its very clear that she did. The lead generator already had recieved complaints about her and my money was returned to me. She is a troublemaker and you all would be well advised to steer clear of her. I just feel sorry for the little dog who has to suffer being unwanted, unloved, untrained and neglected. Some people simply should not be allowed to own a canine.

I have a super high energy Italian Greyhound that had trouble following commands and Terri has helped him so much! She has really helped me understand my dog and how I should be interacting with him. She really trains you as an owner AND your dog. My dog has a lot of trouble socializing with other dogs and she has been so so so helpful with my little baby. Every class I see improvement with my dog. Terri is the best!!!

I highly recommend Terri she is simply put VERY GOOD at what she does. She's a genuine, authentic person who I would now count as a friend to our family.
We came to Terri with a jumpy, anxious, nipping German Shepherd- Staffordshire Terrier 16 week old puppy, who we loved greatly, but were beginning to despair over. He didn't like to go for walks, was easily distracted and definitely couldn't heel. Sometimes he'd sit (for his dinner) but mostly, he terrorized us with cuteness and jumping. As he started to get bigger, it stopped being as cute, and after a dinner guest tore his jeans, we knew it was time to start dog-training. I did a lot of research, and DTCLA was the best choice for us for flexibility, convenience, reviews and price. It was a home-run.
Terri came to our home, and trained with me and my daughter so we built obedience with our dog and family directly (some trainers, take your dog away and train them). She had a lovely, warm approach and was so kind and friendly. Every session, she came with new commands and after all our sessions were done (just this week) we have a confident, obedient, happy dog who can, heel, leave it, stay, come, weave, back up, turn, shake, touch and so much more. We are so thrilled with the process and results.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aziz A.Santa Monica, CA06Mar 28, 2018First to Review
I have two bull terriers, both are not neutered and were adopted after they reached maturity. So you can imagine the desaster I had. Both dogs new nothing but their names, barely. They would pull on the leash, jump on people and other dogs, get aggressive, growl and attack other dogs. I truely believed that they would bite if they get a chance!!
So, I had to hire a trainer. I went trough several trainers before contacting Teresa from Dog Training Club. I have been seeing her for the past three weeks. We had a total of four session, hour each. THE RESULTS WERE AMAZING. Within less than a month, both of my terriers are leash trained. NEVER pull on the leash, bark, growl, or jump on other people and dogs. They walk perfectly by my side, pass by other dogs without as much as looking at the other dog unless I let them. Also, they stop whenever I stop walking, sit right a way and very obiedent.
When I first met Teresa, all I wanted is for my dogs to stop attacking other dogs. Now, we are way passed that and working on a perfect heel and a perfect finish. Not only did Teresa train my dogs, but also she trained me as well. So thanks Teresa and I will be seing you weekly for the next few months.
Tip: Teresa knows German, I asked her to train my dogs in German and she did. I think it is a cool thing and people get impressed and ask if they had any professional training, which I of course I say yes.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Laurie P.Quail Valley, CA02Mar 30, 2018
I would like to thank Theresa for helping us out with our cockapoo. He was unmanageable at first., Since we hired Thersa to train him, he is a different dog and much sweeter to strangers and a lot more pleasant for our family.
