Not what I remember it being like last year. The bruschetta was BLAND, and @ $120 for the 3 of us I expected tasty food. I ordered the Gamberi Zucchini......again, quite bland.
Perhaps the lunch menu is better, but I'm crossing this one off my list of dinner options in Athens.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy H.Raleigh, NC2845872Jun 28, 2016
My husband and I were in Athens for one night only. We had walked by La Dolce Vita and were intrigued by a few of their menu items. We decided to come back for dinner, which turned out to be a GREAT decision! Deciding on what to order was tough, but I ended up getting the risotto and my husband got the tagliatelle. We agreed to share! Both dishes were fresh and delicious. The service was great as well. You should definitely check this place out if you haven't already!

Stopped in here before the big Blue Man Group opening night show in Athens and really found a good one. Love the upstairs setting and tapestries on the wall('This is a castle, and we have many tapestries....!'). Melissa started with the Insalata Mista and I had a caesar. Really great. Bread was a little....blah....but it's ok, wasn't really here for it. I would like to get a little something besides straight olive oil with it for dipping. Ok, now the main courses. I had Polpette al Sugo, which is linguine with their homemade meatballs and classic tomato sauce. Oh, my......lemme tell ya bout them meatballs! Perfectly seasoned, cooked just right, and they were big. Only three of them with the pasta, but it was almost too much. A great dish. Melissa got a spectacular dish called Gnocchi al Gorgonzola, which was a sweet potato and butternut squash gnocchi with gorganzola cheese fondue and toasted walnuts. It almost looked like ravioli but had an almost dessert like quality to the taste. Very rich.
Get in here, people. It's great. DePalma's, you're next.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Katie H.Phoenix, AZ03Mar 25, 2016
This was our first time to Athens on a college tour from Arizona. Our awesome hotel (The Graduate) recommend this restaurant. We had a rough start with it taking a long time for our food but the quality and the nice manager made up for it! They were very apologetic about it taking so long. Thank you all for taking great care of us. We loved everything we ordered...we hope our kids end up here. We will definitely come back!

There are a few good Italian restaurants in Athens, but this is the only truly authentic Italian restaurant for miles. The food is easily the best by a very very wide margin. The quality and preparation of the ingredients is outstanding.
Some staples like lasagna make you feel like you're in grandma's kitchen, and there are some dishes that are more adventurous. I have never been disappointed after many meals here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steven R.Mount Pleasant, SC15692167Feb 10, 2014
This place is really good. I went here on a date with my girlfriend once and it was really nice. It's fancy, but not over the top.
-I'd recommend checking out restaurant.com because they usually have great coupons for this place!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amber W.Athens, GA972Nov 22, 2019
the food was fine but our server completely ignored us. we were next to a couple of older crowds and bc they were drinking seemed to get the better service. when the entrees finally came after like an hour it seemed like an inconvenience. paying $25 for fine food and bad service.

I would have given them the 5th star if their service had been a bit more up to par! We had reservations at 9:00pm, didn't actually sit down until 9:30, and we had 5 in our party and they squished us in at a four person table. We were kind of upset by that after having to wait for so long, so we complained and they moved another section onto the end of our table. The service was fantastic for the rest of the night! The food is nothing short of absolutely delicious. I've been to Italy before, and this is the closest thing I've found to authentic italian food in America. I'll definitely be back, but perhaps at a less crowded time.

So let's start with the positive. The service was attentive and the salads were decent and fresh. The negative, everyone's meal was really bad. My Mom sent her grouper back because it tasted like a big lump of pepper. My husband and step-dad had the pork chop which also tasted purely of pepper and was overcooked. The potatoes served with the entrees were absolutely inedible, absolutely no seasoning or moisture. My gnochii with pesto was like eating a tv dinner. The pesto was creamy, so obviously not fresh and only a sort of a light green unappetizing color. Pesto is supposed to taste like the ingredients! Pine nuts, basil, parm! This just tasted like a cream sauce that came out of a can. Horrible. Gave two stars because the service and the menu elements that did not have to be cooked were ok but otherwise would have been a one star.

First time to Athens. Being Italian, I had my doubts. But, this is a little place with real charm. Food was excellent and the service was great. Definitely a place I would recommend.
