I've waited to rate this place until I've given them a few opportunities to make an impression on me. I've dined in twice and also ordered take out. The general consensus is that they always mess up my order. I'm not sure if it's a waitress problem or a kitchen problem, but it's disappointing when they can't get it right. Sure, they always make it right and give me the correct item, but having to send my food back to the kitchen never makes me feel good. Also when you order take out there is no way I'm driving all the way back to the return to get the correct item.

As far as the food tastes, it's spicy and pretty good. Of course they also have humongous portions which is a positive too. They do nickel and dime you for everything. You want more salsa? That will be $1. You need a refill of chips? $2.50. You want chicken and beef in your burrito? That will be $4.50. Be prepared. Also the cheese dip was cold.

The wait staff seem very overworked and too busy to really take the time to listen. We also had to wait a long time before she came back around to see how the food was. Also this place never feels clean to me. The floor is peeling up, the stone on the wall is chipped and there are dust bunnies hanging all over the exposed wires in the ceiling. I haven't used the bathroom here because frankly I'm scared to see what I mind find in there.

Overall, this is probably my least favorite Mexican joint around WNY. There are so many other places that have better food and better service.

Always Delicious, NEVER disappointed!! We shared the Nachos Grande - loaded with plenty of delicious Chicken, beef, beans,. cheese, tomato, lettuce, & sour cream and the Fajitas Gonzalez - Huge portion of grilled chicken, steak, shrimp, chorizo, and onions, green peppers covered in queso, served in a sizzling bowl with pico de gallo, mexican rice and beans!!! Every thing was spiced, cooked to delectable perfection!!! It was all tender, some places the steak can be tough or chewy. NOT at Don Juan's! We waddled out very contents and delighted, like always ! Best Mexican dinners around hands down!

I came here for the first time on Cinco de Mayo with friends and for the most part we had a good time. My issue however was with how a concern of ours was handled by the owner.

My friends and I arrived at 5pm and immediately put ourselves on the list for a table. We got in line for the bar and waited for 30 minutes to get drinks, which we expected on Cinco de Mayo and it wasn't a problem. But we decided as we usually do when attending incredibly busy events, it would be best to buy a few drinks and only have to wait in line once.

However, when we got to the bar which you could not see until you got right up to it due to people being shoulder to shoulder and six deep, there were fliers inside plastic display holders on the bar which listed the events specials. Everything had prices. Everything except the specialty margaritas and the specialty drinks. But the shot specials were $2, $3, and $4. House Margaritas were $4 and $4.25.

There wasn't much time to look because the bartenders were trying to get everyone served so the pressure was on to order quickly. The bartender who took my order was not friendly at all and was yelling at the other bartenders left and right. I could tell she was overwhelmed and not handling it well. I looked at the flier as fast as I could and ordered 3 spicy lime margaritas. I then watched as she quickly made them.

When they were done she set them down and said "That'll be $36.75" to which I immediately replied "Oh I'm not with him" and motioned to the man next to me whose drinks had also just been set in front of him-- assuming she thought we were together and was charging me for everything.

She said "No I know that, these three are $36.75". My mouth dropped open. I said "How much are they??" And she told me they were $12.25 a piece! I was floored.

I stammered and wasn't sure what to do for a sec but quickly decided that refusing them and making her make me something else would be a jerk move. We all know bartenders don't set the prices nor do they make the fliers so I'm not going to make this her problem, and especially not today on their busiest day of the year when they're clearly overwhelmed. I'll speak to a manager in a day or so.

I put the $28 I had in my hand back in my wallet and pulled out my credit card and paid. I tipped her $5. As I walked away I told my friends "The special margaritas are $12.25" and they looked at the solo cups in my hands with shock.

They got their drinks -one friend got 3 house margaritas, the other got 3 flavored house margaritas- and determined to make the best of it we all went out to the tent the restaurant had set up outside and everyone tried them. There were port-o-potties out there in the second tent which was also nice because with a single bathroom in the restaurant they knew they'd need more. The DJ was good. The party was hopping.

The spicy margaritas were awful. We tasted no lime in them. They tasted like pure liquor and we joked that at least they were strong, but they tasted terrible. And for what we paid for them we weren't going to not drink them. So drank them we did.

3 hours later just as we were finishing up our drinks, we got the call for our table. We sat and received great service from our server Maryann and the food was good and the portions were huge. If my review was based on that I'd give at least 4 stars and maybe even 5. But what happened a few days later completely overshadowed all that was good about the evening and has left me never wanting to set foot in that establishment again.

I posted a pic from our evening on social media and tagged the location of the restaurant, but not mentioning anything about the negative drink experience. The restaurant commented on the pic and said something like "thanks for coming hope you all had a good time" and I responded "I'll PM you".

Unless it's particularly egregious and inexcuable I never publicly criticize a business before I've given them an honest chance to make something right. Everyone makes mistakes, every business has off-days. I don't judge businesses on whether they never make mistakes, I judge them on how they handle the mistakes that inevitably happen. But I felt it necessary to let my inner "Karen" out a little here.

I've included images of the exchange between myself and the restaurant. I later discovered I was speaking with the owner.

I've spent the better part of my life in service and the last thing you want to do when dealing with a customer who is unhappy about something is blame them for whatever went wrong. No, the customer is not always right. Sometimes someone eats the entire steak and then says it wasn't cooked right and they want their money back. Or they wear the jeans for 2 years and when the button falls off they want another pair for free. That's ridiculous. But to omit prices that are more than 3 times the regular price and then pretty much say "you should have looked harder for the prices we went out of our way to hide" is outrageous.

So this place isn't terrible, but it also wasn't amazing.

I've heard nothing but awesome things about Don Juan but the experience just didn't live up to the expectations.

The waitress was running around like she was the only waitress on (she wasn't) and hardly checked up on my party. I don't fault her for this as she could've had extra responsibilities that I didn't know about.

Our food was okay. Again, not terrible but nothing that WOWd me either. We also didn't receive everything that we ordered, which added to the disappointment.

Obviously they're doing something right as they're still in business, but I probably won't go back there. If you're curious to check Don Juan out, don't let my review stop you.

This was my first time here and I'm not sure I'd go back.
We ordered some margarita flights and then put an appetizer and food order in. After that we didn't see our waitress for the longest time.
Our appetizer never came and other workers brought out our meals. We had to later flag down our waitress for napkins, water etc.
We placed an order to go which we were told would be awhile. The waitress did help make that order come out a little quicker which was nice.
Thank god we noticed the one to go order was wrong but they quickly changed the fajitas to a burrito.
I ordered the enchiladas supremas. It was very well presented with rice, refried beans and guac salad.
It was ok but not very hot temperature wise.
My sister ordered the chimichangas which she really did enjoy.
      Overall I wasn't impressed.

Stopped in for dinner with my friend. Bonus that Wednesday is $3 margaritas. Lots of choices Margarita flavors. My friend had Peach and I had raspberry. Both were awesome.

This is always a great place to stop midweek for a little break. Good food, good service at a decent price
