We were referred by a friend who used Dreamcoat Flooring and I contracted based on his finished product. My floor looked great but he didn't do the "stem walls." He insisted it wasn't on my original invoice (which it wasn't) but I was never given the option or told what that entailed. I have the invoice from the man who referred me and it wasn't checked off on his invoice and his stem walls were done!
John is very hard to get hold of, rarely returns calls and seems to prefer texts but when I offered to pay to have him come out and complete the job AND sent him a copy of my friend's invoice that didn't have the option checked, he never even bothered to answer me..
Seems like it would be good business to make good on the job. I will NEVER recommend him. He also charged my credit card for the balance without telling me he was going to do it. BEWARE!
Just an update. I filed a complaint with the Registrar of Contractors in Arizona - roc.az.gov. Might be worth doing if you are as unhappy as I was.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jerome C.Scottsdale, AZ57168Dec 21, 2017
I personally would stay away from this company. They did our floors in our commercial building and it turned out horrible. They didn't clean the floors properly and there was hair, dirt and many things that were embedded into the epoxy finish. We called John multiple times to fix chipped areas and he didn't respond. I would give this company 0 stars if I could. John should have better customer service and fix the flaws he did. I am very disappointed with this company and will never use this contractor ever again.
I saw the reply and they never "took care of it". We called multiple times for them to come fix the areas of concern and they never did. There was on spot that one of the contractors stepped on where there was a foot print..... but that is NOT the area we were concerned about. It was the rest of the mess they they did. If you truly want to make things right, contact me directly and make efforts to fix your mistakes.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

I'm truly sorry to hear this complaint and surprised. We were told by them that they were very happy and went back on one occasion to do touch ups on flaws that they had asked us to do. . They were aware the floor was going to be wet. I'm not sure why they chose to walk on it the same day we did touch ups. But nonetheless we took care of it..

No star for Dreamcoat flooring. John, the owner, sold us and put on the Metalic Pearl in our garage. The coat starts to fill away from the concrete. I called and spoke with John and he said he will get back with me to schedule a repair. Two weeks later no return phone call from John. When I called him back, on multiple occasions, it rolled to a general voicemail. I left messages and again John never return any of my calls. We paid John thousand of dollars and refused to warrant his work. I don't recommend hiring Dreamcoat for your flooring project they are unreliable.
Dreamcoat is in breach of its implied warranty set forth in the attached Work Order. This warranty offers 10 years for any surface peeling at no cost for repair. If you hired Dreamcoat within the last ten years and found that their job to be defective, please make sure that you understand your rights and seek a lawyer that can represent you.
I have attached photos of the metallic mercury floor they sold to us.
As expected, I called the same number (I been leaving messages on) John "the owner" provided in his denial response and rolled to the voicemail again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

There is a mistake. We do not have a customer that we installed a pearl metallic in their garage. We never received a call from Mona M. Customer can call us 480-226-4172 to clear up the confusion.

John Maloney did our garage in 2012. On April 19, 2018 John came out to repair spots that began to peel off. On Oct 26, 2020, I called John regarding more peeling. He finally returned the call on Oct 30, 2020 and said he would be out next time in Scottsdale. He has not been out to repair floor. I have been calling Nov 9, 10, 17 and 18th. I get the same stupid voice mail, leaving my number and nobody has since returned my call. I am totally disappointed in John Maloney and his Dreamcoat Flooring company. My recommendation ....Do not do business with this company.

STAY AWAY!!
Dreamcoat Flooring did a 5 coat epoxy on our garage floor. There were many rough spots and visible streaks. We were able to get him to do an additional clear coat, but that did not resolve the problems. John Maloney then said he would do another "thicker" coat to resolve these problems, which he did. Visually it looks better; however, still many rough areas.
As I finished painting the baseboards in the garage and was on the floor moving around, I experienced lots of "scratches" on my barelegs.
Also, they did the stem wall which has razor sharp edges from the chips. They did not scrape or clear coat this wall.
We have contacted him to correct the safety issue of the wall and he has not responded! This wall could draw blood if brushed up against.
His lack of response or concerns now leads us to additional actions!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jeff W.Phoenix, AZ0145Jan 5, 2021
I had John from Dreamcoat put in an epoxy floor for me in my three car garage back in 2012. When I sold the house in 2020 it looked just as good as it did when it was installed. No chipping or flaking. I bought a new house in 2020 and had John come out and epoxy the garage floor. I see the same quality and professionalism I received back in 2012. Great job John!

We feel like we have a brand new house! Thank you Dreamcoat - our garage looks incredible and the grip on the coating feels so much safer than the chipping epoxy that was less than a year old. We also had them coat our concrete pads and walkways - huge job. It looks amazing! The concrete had cracks, holes, scars and previous patches showed up in certain areas. Dreamcoat put on a grey bottom coat and lightly dusted with white, cream and black flakes - it looks like crushed shells. So pretty and so much easier and cost effective than pavers. John and his associate were terrific - great attention to detail and took their time, communicated well and cared about the finished product.

Thank you Lisa. It was our pleasure to coat your garage and also backyard patios. I'm so glad it turned out to your satisfaction.

Honestly, I don't know what these bad reviews are about. I've worked with Dreamcoat Flooring twice now, and couldn't be happier. My first garage floor coating was around 6 years ago. I went with the polyaspartic polyurea coating because it was supposed to be more durable. It still looks as good as it did the day it was installed. When I bought my new house, I called to have Dreamcoat coat my new floor also. John made sure they got out here, even though the timing was tight. New floor looks great. They came through, just like they did the first time. If you need a garage floor coating, look no further than John and Dreamcoat flooring.

John of Dreamcoat has got this all wrong. Our door was never scheduled for servicing until after Mike broke it. His information is incorrect. I stand by my original review - this company is not into customer service, only collecting money. I advise anyone considering this company to due their due diligence. The old saying: you get what you pay for comes to mind.

Customer had a broken door that was scheduled to be serviced. And blamed us that we broke it. We contacted the garage door company and was told the services the customer received which was $75 invoice. Why the customer expected us to pay for a door that they planned on being serviced. Which included oiling the garage door wheels and tightening the spring.
Jun 4, 2015Previous reviewBefore moving into our house we had Mike from Dreamcoat Flooring epoxy our garage floor. Mike was nice, but smoked and left the butts in my front yard. On the last day of install, he was on the phone with one hand and moving my garage door with the other as he was way over to the right side of the garage. The door slipped off the track and Mike told the person on the phone, "I gotta go something is going on with the door". He then got on the phone to John and told him what happened. Mike told me John will be by on Monday (in 2 days) to see if he can fix the door. Never heard from John, no phone call, no visit. We had to have a garage door company out to repair it. When I sent John the invoice for the repair he stated that I signed a contract stating that Dreamcoat Flooring is not responsible for anything stolen or broken. He never explained why he never called or came out like he said he would. He is only interested in the money, not having satisfied customers. It was a $75 invoice that he could have paid creating a happy customer. Bottom line: The door worked fine before the epoxy finish work and then it didn't. He wasn't willing to step up to the plate. Get someone else to do your floor - it wasn't worth it.
