Dundee's at the Cairns Aquarium

Our Gate One tour group had scheduled our farewell dinner at Dundee's at Cairns Aquarium. We had pre-ordered our dinners the day before but as you will see it didn't matter.
First off we asked if we could take a group photo in front of the aquarium and two different waiters said they would have to ask the manager. We never received an answer.
They took our drink orders and I ordered a Shiraz which I never received and had to ask again.
Next they distributed dinner rolls. My wife who is vegetarian and wanted a regular roll and we had to argue with the server to give her a regular roll .They thought she was vegan and wanted to give her a non-gluten roll.
We received two pats of butter for our table of 8.
We had 4 vegetarians in our group and they served a non-vegetarian soup to one of the vegetarians. She asked for bruschetta like my wife got. There were two non-vegetarians that hadn't received any entrees. We asked the manager Chris about their orders and he argued that there was only soup for 11 and he couldn't make another soup which sounded odd. Too make things easy one of the non-vegetarians offered to take the bruschetta but that wasn't good enough for Chris. He had to argue that we were at fault rather than take the easy solution.
Throughout the meal service the waiters had to shout out who had the shrimp who had the steak. They had no clue.
Finally I hadn't received my steak main course. The rest of the 15 people in our group were already finished eating and I still hadn't received my steak. We asked twice. I finally received it and by that time I had lost my appetite.
Just because we are a big group and the tip is built in is no excuse to give such sub standard service.
We did get our group picture by moving tables away ourselves .
All diners go to the Dundee's on the wharf where the cruise ships come in. We ate there the night before and everything went smoothly.

We came through here for the aquarium tour and found ourselves hungry for some seafood :)

We stopped in to Dundee's for lunch; very busy Sunday but the staff was friendly and managed to sit the two of us in a short amount of time.

I had the fish and chips entree, and shared the croc lumpia as a starter. Both were very delicious, and we devoured everything, like a great white shark!

Nothing to complain about here; everything was fantastic and I highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

We went there for dinner last night and were about to order when a roach decided to join us for dinner. He crawled across the table. The staff member just flicked it off the table as if it was no big deal. It grossed us out. We left and went to another restaurant. I would not eat here again nor recommend it to others.
