      First to Review

Upon the suggestion of a good friend who has gone here for years, I decided to see if acupuncture could help me de-stress.

During the first session I met with the owner/acupuncturist Randa for the first 30 minutes and went over my health and expectations. For the remaining 30 minutes, I got acupuncture for the very first time. For the record, I have a huge phobia about needles and brought a Walgreen's squeeze ball with me but I really needn't have. The needles are incredibly slim and cause only the tiniest bit of discomfort.

The way it works is that you lie fully clothed (but shoeless) on a massage table with soothing pan flute music in the background. Randa then sticks acupuncture needles in random places (wrists, ears, tops of feet, back of head) and leaves you in a darkened room for 20 minutes during which time your "Qi" is sorted out by the needles. After time is up, Randa pulls out the needles and you can go on your merry way.

After the first session, I was so zoned out that I went home, had dinner and slept for 12 hours. The next day I felt super calm so I made more acupuncture appointments. Unfortunately, after the next 4 treatments, nothing really happened and I felt about the same as always. I stopped going because after the first session ($110) and the four 30 minute treatment sessions at $85 a pop, acupuncture just didn't seem to be a good use of money.

I have been to see Sadhna three times now and each time I walk out, I am so relaxed and glad I went. Before going to Eastern Harmony, I had tried another place that I was not satisfied with.

Sadhna makes sure to go through your entire history, including your emotional state and sleeping habits before beginning treatment. She is down-to-earth and genuinely interested in your progress. The acupuncture tables are more comfortable than I've experienced in the past and there is a surround sound system playing relaxing and soothing music right above your head so you can drown out other noises.

She also put needles in a variety of areas on my body, parts that had never seen a needle before. I believe covering those different areas will help me greatly with my specific problems.

Bottom line, go see Sadhna. You won't be sorry.

This was my first acupuncture experience (I hate needles) and I was really surprised at the results. I was anovulatory and only found out after tracking my ovulation (used the Taking Control of Your Fertility charts). My OB/Gyn said I needed to go on Clomid to stimulate ovulation. I was already eating a very healthy, organic diet, but wanted to try other less medical solutions first.

Sadhna Singh was the acupuncturist that I consulted about regulating my cycles. By the time I went in, it'd been 60+ days since my previous period. Most literature says that you should expect it to take at least 3 months before seeing any changes. Well, after a few weeks of acupuncture and herbs, my period came. I ovulated and got pregnant the next cycle.

I found Sadhna to be very sharp and appreciated her ability to blend Western and Eastern philosophies. For example, she would suggest blood tests for my OB/Gyn to conduct and was able to interpret the results (hormone levels, etc.) and treat the issues using acupuncture and herbs. She also understood all of the TCOYF charts that I was using for tracking. Her bedside manner is warm, but not overly touchy-feely.

I've since moved out of Houston and tried other acupuncturists. In comparison, I am amazed at how quickly and painlessly Sadhna works. Acupuncture seems to works well on me for hormonal (as opposed to mechanical) issues...I just wish insurance would cover more of it!

I've been seeing Sadhna for the last 9 months for infertility and I only have good things to say about her and her staff. The treatments are relaxing (I often fall asleep) and I feel refreshed after a treatment.

My husband suggested that I read The Infertility Cure after receiving news from a fertility specialist that we would never conceive. I learned that the author of that book opened Eastern Harmony clinic in Houston. I was already getting acupuncture from a general practitioner and decided to try Eastern Harmony since they specialize in treating fertility issues. After two months of treatment from Eastern Harmony I got pregnant which ended in a miscarriage unfortunately. I kept going to Eastern Harmony on a regular basis after my miscarriage and within five months I was pregnant again and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl! My husband and I conceived naturally without any fertility treatments. Sadhna is very caring and never gave up on me even though several OBGYN's told me that pregnancy would never happen for me. Sadhna is patient and listened to all my concerns and was willing to help me when Western medicine was not. Sadhna frequently attends educational events across the country to stay up to date on the latest Chinese medicine techniques - she is extremely talented and educated on Chinese medicine, acupuncture and herbs. Eastern Harmony treats their patients like family. I highly recommend this clinic for anyone who is struggling with fertility. Chinese medicine really does work!
