Delayed invoices, poor hand-offs to sub-contractors, and personnel changes had what should have been a simple project turn into an extremely frustrating and costly experience. Never again.

My brother called this company to ask them to come take a look at a small mold problem we are having in one of the bathrooms in my house. He spoke to someone and they said they would come by on Friday 7/26/19 between 12:00pm and 1:00pm
He waited until 2:00pm. No one showed up or called at all. I think this company isn't even worth the time to give a rating too, since i wasn't worth there time to even return a curtsey call.
The one star I had to give was only so I could post this rating. They're not even worth that !Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Christian S.Denver, CO357Mar 12, 2021
I disagree with any negative reviews ECOS has. This team has helped me fix some major issues in the last month and from the office to the field techs, they've all rocked. Demi and Brittany in the office are responsive and on top of it. Chris, Aaron, Sergio, Angel, Adam and all the others that have been here to help are awesome and know their stuff. I'd recommend this company, 200%

So unimpressed with these guys. Let's start with the quotes. 1500 was quoted to clean up a basement that had sewage issues. That bill turned out to be 3000 and they actually left sewage all over the side of the toilette that I had to clean up myself. See the photo. Next was the asbestos test. The woman who was at our house said it would be 400 and that turned out to be 595. Now they will not even provide the results of the test until we pay them. That is not how this should work. They gave us an invoice that is net 30 days, but they won't even provide the product we paid for to look at before we pay? How do we even know the test was done or what the results are? This is super shady. We pay our bills on time, always. Next let's move to the property damage. They had to unhook our washing machines for the job. Well they took chips out of a custom made stand for the washer. My 3 year old front loader is also now giving me an error message as well and will not function. We are going to have to call the repair man and this will be on our dime. Lastly they removed carpet from our place and didn't bother to even sweep up the mess or shop vac the debris. I did all this my self. I repeatedly asked them when they were here to please make sure the swept and cleaned up. I mean they are a cleaning place right? that's what they do. Honestly for 3 grand this just seems so sketch and half assed.
Beware. These guys kinda suck. If you provide a service like an asbestos test. Give the freaking results and then you will be paid. Especially after the crap overall job you did.
Incidents where you need people like this are already super stressful. Do yourself a favor and read reviews before you hire someone.
I'm only giving two stars instead of one because I believe these people are not predatory like some restoration companies who will tear your house apart regardless of what happened just so they can milk more money from insurance.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1 2.SoMa, San Francisco, CA01Jul 16, 2021
Used their chat; the Rep ignored my real question and simply asked, what service do you want to pay for? No, I asked if black mold can affect a person 5 years after exposure. No concern or compassion for human life.

I called this company to ask for a walk-through of a 2000 square-foot home for relatively minor flood damage. I was not asking for remediation or any services at the time, simply a walk-through. I was quoted a price of $3000- $5000. I emailed the company, as I found this to be pure thievery. As they did not reply, I chose to post this review.
Call HERO instead. They are an honest bunch.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Detria W.Denver, CO01Jul 29, 2016First to Review
Mr. Lowry ' s company threw away 95% of my property when it was not apart of the scope of work. They threw away bedroom furniture and many many more items that was not apart of the scope of work. One of his employees, (Dennis) said "we hired some people from a temporary agency to help out. We left them alone for a while to take care if some things and I guess they got carried away. He said "have you've seen some of those people that work at these places"? They're homeless and dirty. I was very angry for Dennis making such insinsetive remarks. I replied ,"It doesn't matter if they were homeless or not. It was ECOS responsibility to supervise whomever they hire".
His new office manager Jaymie and Mr. Lowry were notified of everything I just mentioned. On three separate occasions he said he would fix this by reimbursing all hard goods. They threw from small items away (t.v. remote contols) to large items bedroom furniture, desks, chairs) James Lowry said he would make good on this. He and his office manager stood in the livingroom and made this statement.
He then said it again on a conference call with another manager out of another office myself and the homeowner and made the same statement.
Once we looked through the boxes that were left in my garage. They were mainly kitchen items.
For the second time, we found another piece contaminated carpet in the garage (they forgot to properly discard)
We put together a inventory list trying to remember everything we had in our home. We Took photos of our pots thrown in a large container in our backyard for 8 months. I emailed the list to Mr. Lowry.
He obviously isn't a person of his word. He is now making negative statements about my furniture and doesn't believe the list of hard goods is "inflated". So, instead of reimbursing us he now wants us to speak with his attorney and for us to hire one because he doesn't agree with our list.
This is the mentality of Corporate America, "they would rather spend thousands of dollars with attorney, instead of paying for their company's incompetence. You are not making good on your word Mr. Lowry. You are trying to bully us. It's not going to work. I'm sure you will remove this bad mark you have on your company and keep all the positive ones. No company is 100%. Based on several conversation you I had, along with Jaymie you are aware of that. You may have more money than we do to fight with. But I am a person of my word and I'm not afraid to fight for what is owed to me and my family. You will be hearing from our attorneys per your suggestion. Money doesn't buy character.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Mrs. Walker -
I deeply apologize for your loss. I feel that ECOS worked hard getting you over $65,000 from your insurance company that originally denied you any coverage for your loss. Your review does not state that your insurance carrier paid you money for your contents that were contaminated & disposed due to mold / asbestos debris exposure. Insurance also paid for the restoration work we did along with your hotel stays during the project completion. However, you wanted a lot more money to pay for other services and thus got extremely angry with your insurance carrier. Now you have turned your anger on our company 9 months after our work was completed.
As a small business, ECOS has effectively gotten homeowners coverage when it appears there is no coverage - like we did for you. When our clients do not have insurance coverage we have offered them discounts on equipment and labor. We are proud of these efforts and the work we do.
In summary, you received a lot of money (+$65k) because of our company fighting to get you coverage, so it seems unfair to turn your anger once directed at your insurance carrier earlier this year to our company 9 months after our work was completed at your home & cleared by a third party environmental company. - Julie R.Chicago, IL01Mar 2, 2018Updated review
Ecos has changed owners, and dealt with my earlier complaint. The offending employee has also left. So please disregard my earlier negative review.

Forget about the fact that they bullied me into agreeing that hypothetical asbestos contamination warranted tossing out the contents of our condo--a story I still view with grave suspicion, They also managed to damage a piece of uncontaminated artwork (by knocking it off a wall) and didn't tell me (or the condo management company) about it--I only found out about the damage after I paid their bill, when the decorator I hired to replace all the tossed items saw the artwork in pieces. When confronted with uncontroverted evidence that they caused the damage, their employee (David Conlin) admitted that his workers had damaged the artwork and said that the firm would cover the repair costs. However, despite repeated requests that they do so (complete with substantiation of the costs we incurred to repair the artwork), they have not bothered to respond in any way -- not a check, not a phone call, not a letter. Just silence. I am going to have to sue them.

ECOS has been very responsive and professional. I've been impressed with their knowledge and attention to detail as we navigate through the restoration work and claim.

My husband and I were very pleased with the work your guys did on our flooded basement. They were very polite, informative and thorough in their work. Our insurance adjuster was impressed with the good job that they did.
