Very local and low key. Beautiful courtyard and bohemian atmosphere. Great spot for snacks, wine and conversation. I loved how chill and welcoming the staff was. I recommend spending a lazy afternoon here.

There is 0 chance that you will come across with this place while passing by unless a very good thoughtful friend takes you there. And guess what? I was lucky enough to have that good friend and he, as a good friend, took me to L'Antic Theatre on my very first day in the city.
There is little entrance to the bar. You first walk up the stairs, once you are there, the first thing you generally say come about: 'Oh so beautiful', 'Very cool' or 'How do you know this place' etc. And I bet it is also everyone's first time that they associate a place totally shabby place with nice compliments :)
L'Antic Teatre is recycled place with an amazing amazing inner terrace/courtyard inbetween the trees and several apartment buildings. This ambiance is so one of its kind that it can not be copied by other people nor the owners can open a new branch with the similar concept. Because there is no concept!! Like Roman ruins anywhere in the world which naturally reached a certain form and ended up being authentic.
Moving on from the location, there is also a physical theatre in the same place where it plays host to music, dance, performance art, exhibitions, conferences, festivals, cinema series. For this reason, I always felt like the cultural artistic scene of Barcelona is tucked in here. You should definitely stop by and maybe even meet some really talented and creative people here.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aleta D.Barcelona, Spain37835Jun 19, 2013
This is a favorite spot of many locals for relaxing on the patio with some beers & smokes. It has a huge interior (read: away from the street) patio with a resident cat, weird plastic sculpture, and a giant fig tree in the center. There's not much to eat, just a small selection of bocadillos, but one of them is vegan!
Beware that if you don't like to smoke or be exposed to second-hand smoke, this is not the place for you.
There are also community arts events on a regular basis; pick up a calendar while you're there.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sharon E.Barcelona, Spain269506169Oct 30, 2013
Wow, I got so lost trying to find this place that first time.
But such a gem of a location - especially when the weather is perfect for sitting on the terrassa under that giant fig tree.
Cava and beers are nice and cheap too - like 2-3 euros each.
No waiter service - you have to go to the bar. But they bus the tables and keep things nice and clean.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sandra A.San Jose, CA477318Jul 16, 2016
This place is cute and cozy. I bit hard to find but worth it to get away from all the crazy people taking pictures of the Palau de Musica. The drinks are good. 4-5€ drinks are not bad, especially so close to Via Leitanna.

I can verify that this is an above average terrace. Unassuming entrance, but opens up into a lovely courtyard. Great place to stop for for a drink or coffee if you're tired of the plazas, and looking for a bit if seclusion.

This place is the best in the warmer months when you can meet with a group of friends and relax with some beers and tapas in the pretty and chilled out tea garden. Great atmosphere and people. It is one of those places where you can come alone and leave with new friends. We will be back soon!

A few colleagues brought me here for a beer in December, so it was a little cold, but we had a great time nonetheless. What struck me the most was how unassuming the place is. Tucked away in the middle of a narrow alley, I would have walked by the place time and time again not knowing that it was a bar or restaurant when in actuality it's a massive outdoor sanctuary with plenty of tables and lots of trees. I can only imagine how great this place is during the summer time. Highly recommended for a relaxing afternoon or evening of laid back chilling with friends!

certainly one of the hidden gems in BCN. we happened upon the spot as we turned down a random side street while exploring, the sound of clanking bottles and laughter drew us in, so you can imagine we were quite surprised by what we found.
super casual spot, fully packed with mostly locals, moderately priced drinks and a great spot to chill and socialize.
there is plenty of seating indoors and out, wifi is also available, but what makes this place a good find is the back patio. i get so sick of the sidewalk seating and street side eating, sometimes i just want a quiet place to converse and have a beer, this place is exactly that. the back patio with a large fig tree with hanging lights makes for a perfect spot to hang out and drink.
a bit tucked away and smoking is permitted outdoors so if second hand smoke isn't your thing then probably not a good spot for you. if you don't mind, give it a try, you won't feel like a tourist getting ripped off for over priced beers or cocktails.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
