We were craving pupusas and overall Salvadorean food. Used Yelp to help find local Salvadorean restaurant. Lucky for us there was one less than 10 min away. We tried:

Pan con pollo - it was served in a pan frances with all your typical salvadorean toppings. We would rate it 4.5 out of 5 only because the available topping was remolacha. Taste wise - it reminds me of a Salvadorean street vendor. Not a restaurant feel but rather a homemade feel. My partner (Chris) said it reminded him of his mom. I tried it as well and agree!
Pupusa de queso - was really cheesy. They were far from being stingy with the cheese. Would return for the pupusa!
Plátanos con frijol y crema - plantain wasn't fully ripe but ripe enough to make it soft when eating. Beans tasted like frijol de ceda but can't confirm if they were. Everything combined was
Horchata - we believe it's the powder version considering the powdery taste. It's not overwhelming where you wouldn't enjoy your drink. Rate it 4.5 out of 5!

Today is Wednesday, late evening, the restaurant is slightly empty. There is plenty of seating space and service was surprisingly great. Most typical Salvadorean restaurants tend to be rude. I'd say it's part of the culture or perhaps just how they are. I should point out I'm Mexican and Chris is Salvadorean. Overall, final thoughts would be that this place is a must try if you're trying to satisfy a craving or you find yourself hungry. We recommend and will be coming back to try other items in the menu.

Food is good sometimes. Me and my family went to go eat since we were starving but wait time is always sooo bad and also the service was horrible we had got Starbucks cause we don't like the drinks from there and I got my babies drinks and as soon as we walked in they gave us dirty looks but we didn't question it and when we sat down a girl came up to us with a HORRIBLE!! Attitude and told us that we weren't allowed to have drinks and it came to us as surprise since we always bring drinks and I told them do you have a sign for that? And they said yes and we asked to see it and they gave us a dirty look and went back and came back and said they didn't have one but they can just say it so we left NEVER coming back Horrible service !!!!

Worst place ever. Waited over an hour and 30 minutes for my order. I ordered on doordash for pickup and first they said they never saw my order and that it would take 20 mins to prepare. Came back and they said they didn't make the order still..because the order came through for tomorrow even though I never placed it for tomorrow....they said wait another 20 mins. Came back and they said STILL not made because they didnt know it was a doordash order ???? don't understand why they are so stupid here even a hamster could follow directions better.

This place used to be my favorite until i found hairs in my pupusas twice different days. Its like they're prepping their pupusas without hair nets. I wont be coming back here anymore, they didnt even take the pupusas off my bill for the inconvenience of having to wait for a new one.

If they had a zero star, they need that lol. This place is horrible place to dine in. They didn't give us no menu, I had to go grab myself one! The girl was all confuse on the order for take out and dine In. Very slow, she wasn't active. I haven't even ate because I wanted to walk away, but I already order my food. Nobody greeted us. I'll give it a 0/0. Don't waste your time here. I LEFT LOL. PLEASE STOP SERVING FOOD IF YOU CANT SERVE FOOD OR SERVICE.

I grabbed the menu myself because they never GAVE ME ONE.

My dad introduced me to this place. It's affordable and the food is great. Today I had tamale de pizque. I also enjoy the breakfast from there and if could they pupusas are amazing! Great size and not lacking on the fillings. Highly recommend to anyone that loves Salvadorian food.

This business is very unorganized and I equipped to handle the most basic things. I ordered through their website and online system - menustar. When I picked up my food I was told to pay again as the payment did not go through. So I paid and left a tip. But both payments went through. When I called about being double charged they told me to get my money back from menu star but the number was not in service. Now I have to dispute with my bank. NOT WORTH IT.

      Service is now BAD
FOOD IS ALSO BAD... I spoke to the cook and she said that the food was supposed to look like that. I wanted to speak to the owner but she was not there... Anyhow, Do not come here... El Cerro Verde is on Hawthorne and El Segundo... please go there. Better service. I just come here because I like their horchata but lately food has been BADDDD

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER *** My FIL recently visited this place as he used to like the food and friendly staff until 2 days ago that he hit rock bottom. He requested a Sopa de Patas. Upon getting it he smelled something weird and the taste was not good. He told the waitress/waiter who agreed to exchange it but under the conditions he was going to be charge for both soups. My FIL declined the offer but still had to pay for the soup he didn't eat. I am sorry he we will not longer go to this place nor order food from it. Please be careful when you eat and expect to double pay if you don't like the food. We used to like as we had never had any issues but I don't think is fair to make a customer pay for something he didn't eat instead or offer to replace it with something else without having to double charge the client. I hate that new places come out they are good but then they turn bad .
