New to the area, and have driven by this place about 50 x. Now soooo disappointed, I didn't stop sooner. I brought with me my very picket eating 14 year old that had never had a gyro. Her response says it all "this is my new favorite food".
Great food & Great Service!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 7, 2020
Drive through Greek food? 5 stars just for the concept! Just as with any fast food place, we fro e up, ordered, then paid and picked up our food at the window in minutes . Except this was not fast food burgers or chicken, thus was fresh, delicious Greek food!
16 year old shared Hummus & Pita. I am am a little partial to smoother style hummus , but this hummus was still very good. My son ordered a Gyro. The meat was really tasty. I ordered a Mediterranean Salad with lettuce, tomato, eggplant, tapenade, and falafel. Yes, a spring mix or even romaine would have been preferable to iceberg lettuce. Still, enjoyed the hummus, eggplant, and falafel. Not sure exactly what was in the tapenade. It has a very strong g green olive flavor. I like green olives, but was not a fan of the tapenade.
So many more items u would like to try and so much better than any other fast food! Would love to have a place like Ella's in my neighborhood!Helpful 10Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Shiloh B.Encinitas, CA80285Dec 10, 2021
My new favorite place in the neighborhood!! Epic menu, tons of yummy stuff!!
Enough for the healthy fresh vibes and plenty for the naughty foodie vibes. Everything was seasoned and cooked to excellence. The onion rings and fries were EPIC! The staff was nice and cool. The space is super clean with great artwork. The gyro was fabulous and my honeys melt sandwich looked naughty stellar yumsauce. Great spot!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Scot S.Sayreville, NJ2166102Jul 3, 2021
Finally had real Greek food and we found it here EVERYTHING was great. We had the classic gyro Greek hand cut fries (and they really are) and the Greek chicken soup. Nothing we ordered was a disappointment.
WE WILL BE BACK

Over cooked Gyros. Small portion. Quartered pita bread. Huh? $18.00. Pitiful. If they keep this up, the parking lot will be a ghost town. Yikes!

A drive thru Greek restaurant what a great concept . We however ate in and the food was delicious. The owner and son very friendly from Greece so you know it's authentic. All family restaurant. Prices reasonable with large serving. Yummy baklava! Will return.

With Covid 19 raking havoc on the restaurant industry we wanted to support a local establishment and chose Ellas. The gyros ( chicken and beef)were tasty with taziki sauce and onions and the pita wrap held up. My wife's gyro meat was very good and I enjoyed the seasoning. Hand cut fries were large and good too. My falafel was a bit dry and the accompanying sauce was like blended chickpeas. Overall, worth the price for a taste sensation we rarely experience.

I'm not sure if it's the area this Greek food is located in, but the lack of flavor in all the dishes was astounding. I couldn't believe how bland the chicken and gyro was. There is a time when even salt can't do anything to a dish. I think for the price you pay at this establishment the food shouldn't be lack luster.
Thankfully the service was great, but I can't say I will be returning here. If you don't mind a lack of spice in your dishes and love the convenience of a drive thru I'd give this place a shot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gina M.Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, CA1019147May 30, 2021Updated review
We had a bad experience here(we'd ordered/paid for take out and only half of the order arrived) and I left a 1 star review, because it took several days for anyone to even get back to us... But, the owner called my husband yesterday and explained that he has every intention of correcting the issue, that he is currently understaffed and having trouble keeping up... I felt terrible, I've worked in food service, I know what it's like when you're not fully staffed and it's easy, as a customer, to forget that COVID has left many restaurant owners w a skeleton crew of workers. The food we received was delicious, we will be back for sure and I'm leaving this review to remind everyone to be a bit more understanding of service mishaps for the time being. I will be.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 28, 2021Previous reviewOrdered delivery directly through https://ellas-greek-food.square.site. And, when our food arrived a LOT of the order was MIA. Plus, raw onions make me super sick, so I requested "no onions" on my meal... it was FULL of onions and not much else. We called right away to request the rest of the food, and the guy who answered said he thought it might be Doordash's or whoever we used to deliver's fault, so he'd have the owner call me back tmrw(today) as the owner wasn't in and he wasn't sure how to handle it. My husband called back tonight around 6:30pm and a woman said she'd have the manager call us. NOTHING. I'm so confused and disappointed by this complete lack of service. I've never had an experience quite like this before. The Gyro Platter was delicious, but maybe that's because I was starving...?

Went to get the free pizza that they had sent me an email for. Owner wanted my telephone to make sure I had not used the code already. I should have left then. The pizza was horrible!!Crust like cardboard, sauce was like tomato paste! Why offer free food to get you in and then give you crap?? We won't be back and we LOVE Greek food. Only half of french fries were edible. They gave us all the tiny potato slivers that were nearly burned. I would expect them to give their best food to want you to return and buy food! Obviously not! BTW this is no longer Ellas Greek Food. New owners for GHOST STREET KITCHENS
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 27, 2018Previous reviewWe have been very disappointed, just as Mike K., we were going 2 or 3 times a week and they last few times the food quality has not been good. It has been heated and reheated til it is all dried up and the custard topping on the pastichio has turned to a tan color from reheating. We are Greek and know what the food should look like and taste like. We had loved the food. I got a chicken souvlaki and one skewer was fresh and the other old and all dried up. I had ordered also an extra skewer and that was all dried up. The next time we got the pastichio and that was old and discolored.. Therefore, we have not been back for over a month. Many in our community have stopped way back for the same reason. If the quality is not there people will not come, regardless of the prices. Sorry to see it, as we live close and enjoyed running up for lunch etc.
