Great local spot with hardworking and friendly staff. Plenty of parking with a large parking lot, during lunch hour you may need to circle the block for street parking. There is a small counter with stool seating indoor but with this gorgeous Florida weather, there is great outdoor seating! Pet friendly (outdoor area). Excellent quality sandwiches, salads, charcuterie boards - (meat, vegetarian friendly options available).
There wasn't a long wait, but a regular shared a tip to avoid the lunch rush, call ur order in ahead.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 1552810Apr 24, 2024
I had a wonderful dining experience at this local gem! The food was delicious, with an emphasis on local meat products that really shone through in the quality. Service was impressively quick, making our meal both enjoyable and efficient. The option to eat outside in covered areas added a lovely touch to the atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a meal in any weather. Highly recommend for anyone looking for quality food with a local flair!

So I'd been hoping to try this place for some time but they close at six in the evening and previously had been closed on Sundays though they now are open on Sundays, so I'd not been around when they were open before. But today I was riding my bike on the Gainesville-Hawthorne Trail so I figured I would stop by and I'm so glad I did.
The shop is small and was full of customers before the Gators game when I stopped in but the staff is super-quick at taking care of everyone. The shop decor is whimsical and cute but overall there's also this all-business sense about it which is fitting for a German sausage shop. I'd planned to get a sausage sandwich but changed my mind when I saw they had a house-smoked salmon platter and ordered that. Thus, I cannot speak to the quality of their famous sausages however I can indeed say this: their smoked salmon is easily some of the best I've ever had. It was served like a salad and had homemade potato salad and pickles with it which were just perfect and again, the smoked salmon itself was incredible.
I will be back soon for some sausages: fact.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - David N.Gainesville, FL322916Mar 16, 2024
I have been dying to test out Fehrenbacher's and I finally did yesterday. And, it was well worth it! I got the Frank Stallone. Absolutely great sandwich. The sausage was cooked perfectly. The casing gave off a nice snap every time I bit into it. And all the toppings perfectly matched with the sausage. Don't let the photo fool you either, the sandwich is BIG and I was barely able to finish it! Loved the place too! Between watching an employee grind meats, checking out their deli case, and their cool merchandise, I am in love with this spot! Can't wait to go back!

Homemade sausage and a variety of flavors. We got fennel. Also lamb sausage.
You can order sandwiches on some really good crusty bread with assorted sausages and toppings. We opted to take home a few pounds and have them later nice clean shop friendly staff.
Parking around the side. In the same little plaza is a satchels pizza opus ,coffee and the bakeryHelpful 13Thanks 0Love this 16Oh no 0 - S H.Manhattan, New York, NY098Mar 14, 2024
Absolutely a 5-star sandwich. Minus 2 because I'm sick of showing up starving and finding out they're closed. Drove 25 minutes in rush hour only to find out they closed over 20 minutes earlier than posted hours.

I checked out Fehrenbacher's for a late lunch and it was honestly difficult to choose what to go with off their long list of delicious-sounding sandwiches. I selected the muffuletta, which came with a hefty amount of smoked ham, mortadella, and salami. I've never heard of a muffuletta sandwich with lettuce but this one came with it piled high, along with tomatoes and pickled onions. The olive tapenade (which is the signature part of a muffuletta) was nothing more than green olives chopped in half, which made this ultimately a disappointing sandwich. Located in the 4th Avenue Food Park, there are plenty of vegetarian options for those in your party who don't have a particular proclivity for poultry and pork. They have a wide selection of specialty meats for special occasions or the everyday grill out. I would check out Fehrenbacher's again to try some of the other sandwiches on the menu.

Found 2bugs in my to-go charcuterie board. One was alive the other was dead. I found them at the very bottom of the container under some lettuce that I previously stuffed in my mouth and ate before finally looking down. I couldn't identify the type of bugs. I thought maybe fly but the antennas were so long that I wasn't sure. Safe to say when I saw the live one wiggling around on it's back I ran to the bathroom to empty out my stomach. I always wanted to try a charcuterie board so this ruined the experience for me.
