Fitchy’s Home of the Hoagy

Yum!! So glad these folks are in the south suburbs. I loved my steak sandwich, it was a good size with excellent flavor. I'll definitely be back again.

Now the fries are a little too soft and skinny and they don't give you as many as HOTH on 111th, but that's the only small thing that I didn't love. If they get the fries right it would be a home run!!

All that I can tell you is they are creating some crave able steak sandwiches. My hat is off to the chef! The steak sandwich was mind blowing delicious! The steak was seasoned perfectly and it was juicy. The bread to the ratio of the meat was perfect and sauce took it over the top. It was a flavor bomb. I'm so impressed! We don't have a really good steak sandwich restaurant in the area but my prayers have been answered. Subway, Mr. Submarine, Jersey Mike, and Which Wish better watch out there is a new contender in town who may take the Gold #1 spot.

I tried the hoagie sandwich and it was OK but what will keep me coming back is that Amazing steak sandwich.

It's my understanding that they've only been open for a couple of months, and the customer service was a ten. The inside of the restaurant is clean and modern which is so refreshing.

4/7/2024---A Yelp search for a restaurant with fresh cut fries near me led me here. Fresh cut fries are my favorite if you know me or have read a previous review. I went on a Sunday after church and was surprised they were actually open, which was a plus for me, as mentioned by another Yelp reviewer. I was the only customer at the time of ordering. The wait was about 10 minutes. By the time I left, there was a steady flow of patrons picking up phone orders, as well as placing orders. I tried their regular turkey hoagy (may be about 6-8 inches don't quote me) and a small fry. The fries come with sauce already on it, I didn't know that, but it was fine by me because it was good. If that's not your vibe, be sure to let them know when ordering. The fries themselves were just ok. The sauce is what made them ok. It may have been a one-off situation, but I would describe the texture of the fries as a "soft-fry" in the literal sense and preparation. Meaning VERY par fried and small. The pictures I saw online seemed as if they'd be big and thick cut. As for the hoagy, the ingredients were fresh. It comes with cheese, turkey, marinated onions, banana peppers, tomato, and submarine dressing/oil spice mixture. For as oily as the bag was, I thought the bread would be drenched and soggy. Total opposite. I don't want to say the bread was stale, but it was dry, tough, and a hard pull with every bite. I had to add a lot of extra sub dressing when I got home in order to enjoy it. I prefer a chewy, soft, doughy bite for sub breads. Besides preference, I think I understand why one of the patrons might've asked for extra oil. All that said, I would honestly give them another try now knowing what to order/ask. Housekeeping items: they have dine-in seating available, open, spacious, and clean, no restrooms, they're located in a strip plaza, so there's plenty of free lot parking, and the staff was friendly.

This new black owned restaurant is in Country Club, Hills is in the strip mall West of Walmart, next door to Mena's Hair Salon. It is NOT affiliated with Home of the Hoagy on the south side of Chicago on 111th St. in the Mount Greenwood area. They have been open for three months and have their own style, ingredients and way of doing things. They have the impossible steak sandwich, which is one of the different things and they are open on Sunday, which is another one of the different approaches. I had the pleasure of meeting the owners whose customer service skills were phenomenal! They were very personable and professional.
I tried the Steak Sweet and the fries with sauce. I also purchased a steak sweet for my son as well as ham Hoagy for him to have for lunch. I will say the taste of the food is good and it's definitely different from Home of The Hoagy on 111th St. So please if you try them out have an open mind that the taste is different but good! They have nice music playing, there is open seating. There is free parking with a large parking lot. Every order is made fresh so there will be a 10-12 minute wait, not an hour to an hour and a half. They have not started delivering yet, but they will with time and they will do catering. Yelp community and family. I suggest that we support this new business. Let's help them get on the map, providing them with good and bad feedback as we are supposed to. I always feel like honesty is only going to help a business grow and be stronger! Enjoy!

I always head to Fitchy's when I want the taste of the hoagie but the plant of the meat!! the plant based steak sandwich is just like eating the authenticity of the meat! But, don't leave the place without the fries - that will be an injustice to your order and your visit! This is the new Home of the Hoagy!

GREAT FOOD!!!!!!never have I ever had french fries that could be microwaved and still taste delicious......and the sauce will make you want to smack your mama. If your looking for FRESH DELICIOUS, GREAT tasting food stop by Fitchy's

My husband just stumbled across this place today. He grabbed a hoagie for lunch. It was so good he took me later that night. Hoagies were delicious. Just the right amount of meat and the perfect bread. And OMG...the fries. Fresh hand cut, thin and crisp. Th service was quick and fast. The owner was friendly and it seemed like they had know each other for years.

Excellent food! Very friendly and professional staff. Very clean restaurant I highly recommend this place. Their customer service is top notch! And I really like their steak sandwiches.
