Beer here was pretty great, really enjoyed their IPA and fest beers. The space is industrial with a very high ceiling -- not my favorite vibe but kind of fun to have music bouncing all around.

While in the area trying to kill some time, we decided to stop by this brewery. It wasn't very busy, but it was a good chill time on a Sunday afternoon here. I like that it's also dog-friendly, so my pup was able to hang out with us.

I'm not much of a beer drinker, so got myself a Good Mood Hard Kombucha in Lemonade flavor. This was quite delicious and I actually enjoyed the refreshing taste. The boyfriend had a couple beers that he enjoyed as well. They also offer boardgames for you to enjoy here. Note that they don't have food, except bags of chips. You are welcome to bring in your own food though.

It's no secret I love a good brewery, and it's no secret I'm a cat-holic. I purposefully seek out opportunities for the two worlds to collide, so I bopped up to Brooklyn for a self-guided brewery cat tour. When my first three stops yielded no cat sightings, I didn't have much hope for Five Boroughs. Luckily enough, when I name dropped "Dulce," the bartender offered me the opportunity to meet the Queen herself. Precious, baby, box-sitting Dulce, as sweet as her name alludes.

Cat aside, Five Boroughs is a real gem. It's open, spacious, and inconspicuously located among neighboring warehouses and quiet streets. The beer is plentiful, and tasty, and on a Sunday night, they had football on their TV. There's lot of seating and board game options. One could easily spend copious amounts of time hanging out. To top it off - the bathrooms were clean and the bartender was incredibly friendly. It was quiet on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and I really enjoyed sitting at the bar, sipping a brew, and flipping through the local magazines (and meeting Dulce).

I wish it was easier to get to - it's kinda in a spooky, unassuming part of town (at least in the rainy darkness), and the closest subway isn't super close. No food, which is par for most breweries in NY.

Some of the best beers of our NY visit were at Five Boroughs. We'll definitely be back, if not only to see Cat Queen, Dulce.

This brewing co is hidden amongst industrial buildings. It was a surprise when we pulled up because it's the only bar in the area. Totally modern beer garden. They serve popcorn (bags) but otherwise they welcome take-out. The bartenders are incredibly kind and always remember us when we visit. The beer is great too! AND great prices. Flights are $15 each.

Remotely located in an unassuming section of Sunset Park. Moderately sized interior with both bar and table seating throughout.

Sixteen different beers on draft, with 10oz. and pint-sized options available. Started off with the Sticky Sticky IPA ($7), a collaboration alongside Twin Elephant Brewing, a creamy and citrus hop ale. Second round was the Oscura Lager ($7) - a caramel amber that would pair well with food. Speaking of, only some chip/popcorn options to snack on, though they do let you order around for delivery.

Vibe for a Saturday evening was more mellow than expected. Service is solid as the one bartender was enough for the crowd. Good for a quick beer at a reasonable price.

Beer + board games = my kind of place.

We came by on a Sunday afternoon in November and it wasn't packed at all. The brewery seems very kid friendly as there were many of the board games that were kid appropriate (sorry, connect 4, candyland.) and all the pieces were there! Our 4 year old had fun playing games with us as we tried out several of the beers there. We enjoyed the Tiny Juicy IPA, Guest beers from Endless Life Brewing include the coop beer Mat Overboard (very good). I was not a fan of the hard seltzer - Strawberry Mojito and will stick with the beers next time.

Looking forward coming again with some friends for board game and beer fun.

Beer gets 5 stars but service is terrible 0 star. Went to this brewery on Sunday and for a Sunday it was crowded with a group of runners. I was sitting by the bar with a friend and waited for the bar tender to help us and he just ignored us. I asked the bartender to help us being that it was just me and my friend and he said he couldn't. They should really get a real bartender someone who knows how to multitask and is able to handle this type of situation.

I've sort of kicked my beer habit in recent years, opting for lighter, hard seltzers, which is very in line with the tastes of my generation, but the beer at Five Boroughs makes me feel no regrets. Every beer that I tried at the taproom had a very smooth, crisp taste that I don't always connote with beer and reminded me why I used to love beer in the first place. I enjoy the buzz I get from beer more so than from any spirit, and I didn't feel heavy and full after a couple of the lighter drinks they had on tap.

Their taproom is quite spacious, with a big open room and high ceilings. Since drinking inside is verboten in NYC right now, I perched myself on one of their outdoor seats they have set up under tents. With outdoor drinking though we are at the mercy of Mother Nature, and while it didn't rain, this is a particularly windy street, and gusts of wind sent their plastic chairs moving and their tents shaking, but their employees came out to help make everything more secure, which was really nice of them!

My favorites include the really refreshing "Just Add Lime," the seasonal pumpkin ale, and the citrusy summer ale. I appreciate that their menu includes a wide range of ABVs, from lighter ~4% ABV to stronger 11% ABV drinks, so you can decide what kind of adventure you want to go on.

The folks who work here are super friendly and they allow you to bring food to drink alongside their beer. The vibe is great and I could easily spend a whole afternoon here playing cards with friends, getting some food delivered, and sipping on their very delicious beer, pandemic times or not.

Sometimes I get lazy when writing reviews. I really don't mean to, but ya know, life gets in the way and occasionally I just experience way too many new places all at once. I mean it's not like I visited Five Boroughs Brewing Co. months ago. It was only a few weeks back, at the beginning of December, but if my experience (good or bad) isn't anything that makes me want to start those fingers typing, then I'd say it tells you something. Hmm...

Well the first thing that my brain tells me is that I don't often find myself in such a deep part of Brooklyn. It was due to my buddy and his girlfriend that had us traveling so far west, but due to some Yelping and our opportunistic location, we ended up at FBBC. I'm glad we did as I've known of them for a few years now, having only sampled a handful of their beers. Of memorableness, only Tiny Juicy (their hazy-ish session IPA) stood out in my mind for flavor. They did brew a beer for the broadway show Come From Away which is...cool, but not something I'd have again. Regardless of what's in cans, you'll get more straight from the source anyway and I was excited for that.

Walking into Five Boroughs I got a feel which reminded me of a few other tap rooms (KCBC for one) though this shouldn't necessarily be a strong negative. Their lax style and semi-low lit vibe set a chill mood for the hour or so we were there. The staff, on the other hand, was mixed on their welcoming, perhaps having a little too much of the "Brooklyn hipster vibe" going on. Needless to say, it didn't stop us from ordering up a flight and a couple of pints.

Being the driver, I sampled some sips of that flight, sharing with my buddy. The menu was a variety of IPAs and a few lager-style brews so we tried to mix together a little of everything. Looking back, I suppose I would've loved to see a stout or brown ale (something for the cold weather perhaps?), but maybe I'm jumping the gun (I mean it was only early December). And c,mon, Josh, you have to give credit where credit is due. Five Boroughs did have WinterPenn on tap, their winter warmer beer, which we totally tried amidst our flight. Unfortunately, it wasn't anything memorable as the spices it mentions didn't really come forward. This could've also been due to having just tried Circa's out of this world winter warmer beer only hours prior, but even so...

I will give "mad props" to Tic Tac Toe, a session IPA (different from Tiny Juicy) that really hit the palate nicely and was more of a shining memory of the place. I'm also totally not going to forgo mentioning the Industry Ale which was brewed in association with nearby Industry City (a spot I still need to check out). So it's not like Five Boroughs is doing anything wrong here, but perhaps they're just getting a little, just a smidge, too meshed together with any other ol' brewery. In the ever-growing beer scene, some originality is needed. Just sayin'.

Overall, I like Five Boroughs, don't get me wrong. They have a few great beers and several of them are canned and available near distributors by me, giving further opportunity to try more of their stuff. Though when it comes to the tap room and the entire experience of the place, I find myself at around 3.5 stars, heading south. This strongly goes against their Yelp review star total, though maybe it's just me and feeling like my history with their beers and what I've tried doesn't stand out or constitute the four star salute. If/when I find myself in the area again (perhaps for Industry City?) I'll consider another trip here in hopes that there's a little more to be loved. Only time will tell in the land of the Boroughs.

Good beer house with a dozen beers on tap and more options by the can. Location in Sunset Park is a bit remote but it's worth a stop. Laid back vibe.
