Late night munchie trip led us here. We arrived right before they closed the deive thru 945pm
Ordered 2 - bacon hamburger combos
Hamburgers were good, fry portion is huge. Fries were super over salted but I would go back. (We just shook them out in a strainer lol ) If you're looking for a quick 10$ combo try flames. We have also tried their breakfast burritos and they were good.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 9, 2024Updated review9 check-ins
I just needs a quick meal and decided on the drive through:
I got three items :
Orange Bang easy ice medium - sweetened and creamy like I remembered- 8/10
Taquitos plate - with a side of refried beens plus Mexican rice and chopped lettuce, tomatoes topped with four cream and a side of guacamole cream sauce - 6/10 because the taquitos stayed crunchy! Mystery meat might have been shredded beef but not great taste.
The asada burrito was just sad : I got the carne asada with rice and beans : 4/10 - it was sizable but the meat was so dry and chewy that I had to give up on eating it at all.
Takeout was under 10 minutes but no one was in the lot or behind me.
I probably should try coming earlier rather than for dinner time because the meat sure seemed like it might have been sitting in a warmer or heat lamp all day.
I might give them another try sometime.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Dec 2, 2016Previous reviewThe days around the major holidays are usually lazy, don't want to cook days for me. Seems like that was the story for a bunch of us who showed up on this day after Thanksgiving - Black Friday to shoppers. Bunch of guys who looked like they were hung-over, some teens in jammies, and this old lady.
Flames is a small place that's been around for as long as I can remember. Today they had only one guy cooking so it took quite a bit of a wait for my take-out order. I could see he was really making everything from scratch - effort and time is appreciated! To pass the time as we waited, there was an old movie (Sandlot 2 - the one with the crazy dog chasing scene) on the TV, it was fun sharing that with the people who were here. Everyone was in a friendly mood and we all waited patiently for the food.
Rediscovering their breakfast Everything burrito - yum! - Jave R.Los Angeles, CA362411Nov 14, 2023
Descent cheese burger spot.
I was greeted with a standard head nod.
First time here, so I ordered a double cheeseburger to try out the place. Bun was ok, not dry or old but not moist or toasted either. American cheese was standard to what's expected of these mom/pop places. Beef patty's seasoned with salt and peeper, and a bit dry- like it was pre cooked/ or grilled earlier in the day. Lettuce and tomato were fresh but the onion flavor and crunch were not fully present. Pickles were a highlight- flavorful and sweet. The thousand island dressing was good and standard resembling a Kraft product. Will I return, more than likely not.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dan M.Norwalk, CA02725Apr 25, 2024
Ever have a bacon breakfast burrito and your bite is nothing but potato? Not at Flames! Enjoyed my bacon, egg, potato, and cheese burrito that had the perfect blend of everything. They use hash brown potatoes and chop the bacon so that all ingredients are in EVERY...SINGLE...DELICIOUS...BITE!

Bro their bacon cheeseburger is the absolute best around the area. When I say its the best I mean the type of burger joint.
You know the style grilled like from the Mexican joints that sell like all types of food ranging from breakfast to like chicken bowls etc. From boys burgers Johnny Jr omega galaxy etc.. I found this place legit has the burger DOWN... like it has a LOT to do with their burger dressing (thousand island)
Normally I need a little more sauce on my burgers at these types of places but not here its seasoned so nice. Fries are nice and crispy I get no salt but their seasoning is good too.
To the man in the low review asking to try the chili that was funny in what restaurant like these types will let you sample anything.... that was a good on had a good laugh.
Service and pricing is what you expect. Only its cheap here honestly. They charge you for sauce and refills etc but if you look at their burgwr combos its cheap compared to other places. People act like inflation isn't a thing. Even Jack in the box charges for sauces. Service was good just asked what I wanted gave me what I needed in a prompt friendly manner thats it.
I try to get their burger like once every 2 weeks if I can since 20+ minutes out! Thanks flames you got the bomb bombs!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 2, 2023
Outstanding old school type drive in (although they also have a drive thru) burger joint. They have a large menu with breakfast and burgers as well as some Mexican food. The place was packed when I walked in at about 1:30. They have indoor and outdoor seating but everyone was there for takeout. My bacon cheeseburger and onion rings totaled about $16 which is about normal for a good burger. The bacon cheeseburger was excellent and the order of onion rings was HUGE in addition to tasting great. With all of the customers waiting inside and in the drive thru, service was fast and friendly. It's easy to see why they are so busy
Totally recommended and I would love to come back if I'm in the areaHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Hannah H.Los Angeles, CA248486Feb 11, 2023
It's an alternative to Mc Donald's...it's not like a fancy restaurant but more like Denny's.
The prices are reasonable and taste pretty good and the portions are quite large.
Also their service is good^^
Recommend for quick bite on the run!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 69171136Dec 13, 2022Updated review
Since my last visit, I have had the grilled chicken teriyaki plate and then Special Burrito. They were both great. The chicken teriyaki plate comes with A LOT of rice and chicken, as well as a side salad. I loved seeing how much food they give with this plate and how they definitely didn't hold back on the portion.
The Special burrito was also really good. This one comes with ham, sausage, bacon, eggs, potatoes and cheese. Similar to what a lot of other places sell but i found that it was cheap too, and a good size. It left me more than satisfied and would get it again without a doubt.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Dec 3, 2022Previous reviewI don't know what it is with all of these crazy reviews about this place. I came by here earlier today and found everything to be so swimmingly and excellent. Called in an order for a pastrami sandwich and a jr hamburger. The man on the phone was very cordial and direct. He was not rude, interrupting or indifferent towards me. He took my order and said it would be ready in 15 minutes. I showed up 15 minutes later and it was ready!
It was only 13.45$ for the two items. Not bad at all. He gave me chili peppers and ketchup for free. Got to my car and ate my sandwich because I was starving and it was the best damn pastrami sandwich I have eaten in a while. Granted, last time I had eaten pastrami was when I was a child but it was nothing short of exquisite. It was a good size, generous in portion and amount of pastrami, had the right amount of pickles and mustard. If I was ever in the mood for it again, i'd come back here in a heartbeat. My girlfriend had the jr hamburger and loved it too. It is her favorite thing on the menu as she really likes regular hamburgers and at a place like Flames, I don't doubt that is one of the best things on the menu.
I will have to come back to try some of the other stuff on the menu. I've heard the chicken teriyaki is divine.
Also, I don't know what it is about these places. They offer so much food on the menu that it can't all possibly be good, I feel like sometimes people come to an establishment like Flames and order something really out of pocket like a fish sandwich or chicken nuggets and expect it to be a 5 star meal. Like obviously, it isn't gonna be the best thing you've ever eaten. Maybe try asking the workers what is good or what the most popular items are for some pointers. For example, through word of mouth, I heard the pastrami sandwich was great and it certainly was! Or look at some of the most recent reviews to see what people like and don't like. Just a suggestion. - Y G.Paramount, CA1008454Jan 28, 2023
Our first time here and the food was decent. Way better priced than Omega burgers!
The fries are crispy and the burger bun was soft and tender plus the lettuce was fresh and crispy too.
My husband liked his cheeseburger combo also. He said he's willing to come back.
Many people are here inside sitting and eating so to me, that is a good sign.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mauri T.Hawaiian Gardens, CA06Mar 20, 2024
This place is delicious I love the burger specials when they costed 6$ I would always buy 2 cheeseburgers and with some of their delicious horchata juice. I love their burger it is such a juicy burger. The bacon is delicious and I recommend chili cheese fries with a bacon cheeseburger.
