"Eat, Drink, Oink" ...lol!
Yep, easy solid five stars for this spot. We were in town visiting my brother who lives in the area, and he was quick to recommend Flying Pig for lunch!
We arrived to mask-wearing staff who were kind enough to push together some outdoor tables for our group of seven. Our server Ryan was so great, friendly, and attentive. We were debating about getting the bacon-wrapped dates for an app to share, and he encouraged us to make the fantastic decision to do so. They were stuffed with white cheddar and chorizo, topped with cabernet reduction. So yeah, amazing. He had solid recs from the beer list as well. I love to try new + local brews when traveling.
Everyone was more than pleased with their meals. In fact, I forgot to take pics of it all because we dove right in. I went for the Playa Salad. Now listen, I know ordering salads at restaurants can be a little taboo but this one was delish. Grilled chicken, avocado (already a win), caramelized onions, roasted corn, dates, and almonds. It was was flavor-packed and drizzled with lime vinaigrette, adding some solid zest. I was also #loving the tots (that I stole off my husband's plate). They came as a side with his Bacon Co BLT that he throughly enjoyed.
I will no doubt be back here on our next trip into Arvada. Thanks Ryan + Fly Pig!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Dec 19, 2019
I had spotted this place while driving by a while back, but did not know anything about it. Fortunately a friend organized a Monday night happy hour here, and I am so glad he did.
The Bacon Confit Chicken Wings (Yep . . . Chicken wings slowly cooked in bacon fat, and then flash fried) are kind of amazing. The outside is lightly crispy, and then this uber-moist, unctuous, meaty goodness just kind of glides into your mouth. I wish they had more sauce options, but the three they have are pretty decent. The Buffalo is standard. The Southern BBQ is pretty much as it sounds. The Korean Gochujang holds a lot of promise, but does not exactly deliver the smoky (almost deep tobacco-like) notes you would get at a Korean restaurant. It was still my favorite. On any other night of the week, this is a $14 appetizer. But, on Mondays, you can get five wings for $3, and just go crazy.
I also tried the Bacon Wrapped Bacon (Braised Pork Belly wrapped in Smokey Bacon. Mango IPA Sauce), AKA the coronary on a stick. It was almost overpowering in its heavy heart stopping nature, but decadently enticing nonetheless.
Currently, the 4pm to 7pm, Mon-Sat, Happy Hour pricing is frickin' incredible. $2.49 beers (and some of these are craft offerings), $3.99 Cocktails (signature items and mules!), $4 Wine, and $3 Wells make for one quickly wishing they had taken a Lyft or Uber to the Pig.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Megan M.Central, Denver, CO1181111May 1, 2021
This was our first visit and we were delighted. We didn't expect it, but this is sort of a sports bar, but with much better food. They have a massive menu! We tried the wings, Mac and cheese and G Line Grilled Cheese. All were delicious.
They have a nice little patio and the service was great. We'll be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Beth W.Aurora, CO1203Jun 11, 2021
I got this order to go abs I'm pretty disappointed. While the sandwich was ok - soggy but I'll blame that on take out, the fries are stale af. These egg rolls are gross. They are covered in flour, barely fried and the inside texture is like refried beans..
sorry, would not recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 11, 2020
Came here for brunch. They had nice patio seating in the back courtyard. I ended to getting a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant and it was delicious! I also got a mimosa that was good. I'd come back again. I really liked the wallpaper on the inside of the restaurant too. It was very cute.

First time visitor and it won't be the last. I kept seeing the breakfast burrito and Bloody Mary on FB so I said what the heck let me get on up. The burrito was huge and delish. The Bloody Mary was 2 legit to quit!!!

Meh, I was underwhelmed. For $14 (LOL) a "BLT" should have a little more "B" but mine contained a big pile of "L." The bread was mealy and chewy and there was too much of it. I may have detected a few hints of bacon in the mealy mouthfuls of bread and lettuce, but come on...you call yourself "Flying Pig"...the bacon should be the feature, not the garnish on my vegetable sandwich.
A tomato and lettuce cost a few cents. Loaf of bread: $1.69. Even cheaper and tastier to bake your own. $8 a pound for the primo bacon at the supermarket. Mix up a little sriracha mayo and voila! an entire stack of BLTs that are far superior in quality and collectively cheaper than the one I had at Flying Pig.
I expected the best BLT I've ever eaten and instead got yet another restaurant capitalizing on the "OMG BACONNNNNNN" hype without actually delivering.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 4, 2021
We love this place. The patio is nice. The food is always good. Our service was excellent. My pork sandwich was very good. The barbecue sauce is perfect. My daughter was very happy with her Mac and cheese. My husband got fish tacos and felt they needed a side of chips & salsa. This was our second visit and we will be back.
