I've passed by this place many times and finally had the opportunity to stop by for a first-time visit yesterday. It's a small but very cute space decked out in pink and white with Parisian hallmarks. When i walked in, the smell of fresh baked bread immediately hit me. The pastries looked beautiful. I was hopeful that this was going to be great. The usual variety of coffees were offered (cappuccinos, lattes, macchiatos, etc.). The gal at the counter was very nice, welcoming and accommodating (I asked for our two pastries to be cut in half and she was happy to do it). I did think it was curious that one of their coffee makers was a Nespresso machine (the other was what looked like a small pro version of a De'Longhi espresso machine) and there was a big sign on the wall that said "No refunds." I didn't recall ever seeing that in a bakery or coffee shop. Nor could we eat our purchases inside the store, as more big signs told us, though there were two small wall counters that were clearly made for that purpose. Hmm. But I let those things go. I shouldn't have. Here's where things really went south. I ordered an iced vanilla latte with whole milk, which was quite possibly the worst -- no, it was THE worst -- iced latte I've ever had. EVER. There was no way there was whole milk in that thing. It was watery and flavorless. The espresso was WEAK. Vanilla? What vanilla? I have NEVER thrown away a coffee drink before, but I did yesterday. It was absolutely undrinkable. What a waste of money. Did I mention that the cappuccino we ordered was lukewarm? We also purchased an apple turnover that was completely unremarkable. The pastry was very clearly made with shortening, not butter, as evidenced by the greasy taste left in our mouths. There was a bit of apple inside. A bit. But it did nothing for the overall flavor of the thing. The last item we ordered was a cute tiny pastry that was supposed to be a cake version of crème brûlée that I got excited about. I love crème brûlée. That was pretty good, I think, if having a hard outside (like the crunchy topping of a crime brûlée) and a soft cake inside (ie, the "custard") is the way it's supposed to be. But I feel that I need to order that again somewhere else to really know if it was good or not.

I do not relish writing bad reviews but I was so utterly disappointed yesterday that I felt compelled to write.

Frenchifornia, I'm sure you can do better!!

Wow! Was so excited to go here and smelled like I was in Paris inside. And then the Shock of paying $8.00 for a quiche (no issue) and then charged $.20 for the box to take it in. How horrible and cheap of the owners!
It's not the $.20 it's the fact that you are CHARGING FOR PACKAGING!
Rude counter help as well, I was only person in the place and she kept rushing me! All they have to do is tell you!!

Im on the search for some amazing french pastries and I stumbled across this little gem.

I don't know if I just missed the sign, but I saw the name on the door and that's how I found this place. It's a small little bakery with a good amount of pastries. I came around lunch time so I'm assuming thats why there wasn't too much to choose from. I opted for a smoked salmon eclair and five macaroons. The smoked salmon eclair was good, but I don't think I would order again.

The macaroons on the other hand were delicious! I asked the kind gentleman to surprise me with the flavors so I don't know what he gave me. I definitely will be back for macaroons and to try other pastries

Walking in here is like walking into a buttery, baked goods heaven. It smells amaaaaazing in here. Waking up craving croissants, we drove here to pick up some breakfast. The almond croissant and chocolate croissant were both delicious and satisfied my craving!

SO CUTE and AFFORDABLE. Cute and yummy pastries that aren't dry and overpriced like the neighboring pastry place on Colorado. Will be coming back

Randomly stumbled on this place when we were at Paseo and saw a line going out the door. We decided to check the place out and immediately when we walked in, we were welcomed by that fresh, buttery bakery scent that you know will taste delicious.

      Our order:
      - Chocolate almond croissant
      - Chocolate cream roll (not sure exact name of this, but looked like a long, rope-like pastry)
      - Almond croissant
      - Apricot almond tart

The croissants were to die for! Those are the best selling items and they're generously buttery and almondy. The chocolate cream roll was sectioned into four which made it easy to split and reminded me of a really milky chocolate candy. The apricot almond tart is in the case next to the cash register. The tarts all had an almond base with different types of fruit on top (strawberry, apple, apricot) and it was really hard to choose which tart to get. The apricot tart with almond base was soo delicious though. The fruit pairs well with the almond.

Honestly, if you're a fan of croissants or almond in general, I don't think you can go wrong here. I was really interested in trying the bread and sandwiches, but that'll be for another visit.

The pastries are pretty good but the cashier lady gave me some weird vibes. Kind of unfriendly and seemed really annoyed by my questions. It was my first time there and this place has been bookmarked for a while now. Since I live in the neighborhood I wanted to find a go-to bakery/pastry shop. I don't know. Maybe an "off day"? I mean... we all have those days. Just made me feel super uncomfortable and I just wanted to get out of there.

I have two words for Frenchifornia: Get in ma bellyyyyyy!!!! We were in town for the Pasadena half marathon and I convinced myself that since I burned 1500 calories I could eat 3000 calories of fresh fluffy buttery creamy flaky goodness that were behind the glass cases of this godsend to humanity. The kouign amann is something I never heard of before nor a canale, but the awesome lady behind the counter was super friendly and kind and sweet and took her time happily telling me what everything was... they were so good and of course my old standby of almond croissants were sooper bomb I was broke when I left but my soul was full
