Great spot for all you can eat sashimi!
The sashimi are great. Soups, beef teriyaki are great too. Hand rolls and special rolls were ok.
Shrimp tempura were too oily and heavy battered. I would not recommend it.
Service was ok. But who cares about all that. The sashimi was worth it! :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mei L.Washington, DC54861146Apr 14, 2024
I saw a review of this place from an Instagram food account and decided to give it try. The place was definitely pretty busy on a Thursday evening, lots of people keep coming in and out.
The kitchen food was pretty good. I wish they emphasize this in the paper menu but when you order how many you want of a certain dish, each order comes in 2 pieces (at least most of them did). I thought everything came in one pieces so my husband and I over ordered the first round. I enjoyed the beef skewer (really tasty but more on the sweeter side), goyza, sweet potato tempura (surprisingly my favorite), shrimp tempura (ehh wasn't that good), calamari (it was good but I didn't enjoy the pairing sauce).
For the sushi, the rolls were on a smaller side but it was good. Tried the dragon roll, Godzilla roll, and valentines roll. The taste was good but again, it's definitely smaller in size but I didn't mind it because it's AYCE so you can try them in small portions and order more if you like.
For the sashimis, I was pretty disappointed. I thought the raw fish would be fresher but it was not. I didn't feel like they were sushi graded. We messed up here because we wanted to order 2 of everything but like I said earlier, you get 2 pieces per order so we ended up getting a lot more pieces than we thought. So I'd recommend, just order 1 order if you want to try it out as it comes in 2 pieces. We over ordered and was struggling to finish. We also opted in for all sashimis branded we didn't want to get full from the rice but did not like it because the fish wasn't really fresh. I guess because they have so many customers, you can't consistently give fresh graded sashimi.
Overall, the ambiance is good. Clean restaurant, fast service, attentive staff, and clean bathrooms. I probably will not come back because the raw fish is not as fresh. However, the kids prices were reasonable and the kitchen food was pretty good/decent. Just the sashimis were disappointing to us.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Anh V.Calverton, MD0109179Apr 6, 2024
$27 per person for a variety of sashimi, sushi rolls, dessert & appetizers. The restaurant does not set limits on ordering but emphasizes no food waste! The food was not necessarily the best/freshest but pretty on par with what you pay for & pretty decent.
Easy to send in orders and good service however since we came on a weekend it took longer for us to get our orders. You order by putting a quantity on a paper menu they give you however with no pictures it can be confusing for those less familiar with sushi types and fish names.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Apr 20, 2024
I'm sorry the restaurant is nice, was empty and now I know why. The spider roll had so much on it that I was like where's the soft shell crab and when I found it was dry. I've had spider rolls before and the soft shell crab was the feature. The atmosphere was chill. I won't go there ever again although they were nice. Look at the rolls and tell me where the soft shell crab is? I'll wait. I had to hunt the restaurant down and no name on the outside I was like what?!!! In police business that's what you call a clue. This is my first negative review but I had to be honest.

After hitting the gym and a long day of errands, we decided to end our Sunday Funday with an All You Can Eat (AYCE)!
Since this was our second time, here are some additional pointers: (1) Put your Names and the table number at the top of your paper menu. (2) Do not order everything at once! You can ask for an additional paper and even dessert at the end. This way you don't get hit with a surcharge if you don't finish your plates! Eat slow portion controlled plates! (3) On Sunday, the kitchen closes about an hour early than their posted hours but you can still dine and finish up till 9:00PM.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Feb 26, 2024Previous reviewAll you can eat (AYCE) off their sushi and/or kitchen menu for $21.99 sounds like a deal (steal). However, if you do not finish a plate within your order, you must pay full price for that specific dish (also all drinks are an additional fee). I am all about an establishment that takes wastefulness and sustainability seriously. I absolutely love the fact that they make this known upfront too via the menu. I can't stand when people waste food and when I looked around at each packed table (every single table was taken up), not one person was wasting food.
The restaurant is small--about 10-12 small tables which sit either 2 or 4 people max. Staff is quiet but kind and very attentive. In fact, many of the reviews state that the service was lacking, I disagree--they were on-point quick and attentive. The food came out quickly even when every table was taken up.
However, I believe it would be best if there was a small intro to their menu and how the establishment works since you are simply provided four pieces of paper--hard copy of the entire menu, a write on sushi menu, a write on kitchen menu and a drink menu. Nowhere does it state how to order or why there are so many menus. If it was for Yelp reviews, I wouldn't have understood the process.
I ordered the Miso Soup (salty and the seaweed was very chewy), Seaweed Salad (fresh), Edamame (way too much salt was added), Yellow Tail Sushi (huge but served a bit warm which freaked me out), Octopus Sushi (YUM), and the Valentine roll.
Please note that this is not in the best area. It is across from the Cromwell MTA Station. This specific strip mall (if you even want to call it that since it is half vacant) has been known for mugging and vehicle break-ins. I would park directly in front of the restaurant and not wander or park far out. There is a location near for blood/platelet donation in which you can get money for donating--it doesn't exactly attract the best clientele. - Mar 7, 20241 check-in
Affordable ayce sushi at 21.99 in Maryland!!
I came on a weekday night for an early dinner at 5 PM. There was no wait which was really nice as I have seen other reviews mentioning a long wait. The restaurant was very tidy when we came in. The overall restaurant isn't too big, we were sat at the front of the restaurant but I noted there were a couple of tables toward the back. We ordered a variety of items from the ayce menu.
Items Ordered:
Miso soup
Seaweed salad
Yaki beef and chicken (skewered meat)
Salmon sashimi
Tuna sashimi
Red clam sashimi
Unagi sashimi (eel)
Salmon nigiri
Shrimp tempura
Sweet potato tempura
California roll
Yellowtail scallion roll
Sweet potato roll (not pictured)
Godzilla roll
Volcano roll
Spider man roll
Vanilla ice cream (not pictured)
Fresh fruit (not pictured)
I think overall the food is very affordable for an ayce menu. Though it's not the best quality, I think it's quite decent for the price you're paying. My favorite items were the salmon sashimi, Godzilla roll, spider man roll, sweet potato roll, Yaki beef, miso soup, and seaweed salad. I do like that there's a lot of variety between sushi and cooked items because I feel like you have a lot of options to find something you enjoy. It definitely satisfied my craving for sushi and it's a great deal for an ayce restaurant. A must try if you're in the area but expect a wait if you're going during a busy time (e.g. Friday night dinner).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 10322172Mar 9, 2024
I was excited to hear that a new sushi place opened in Glen Burnie with an AYCE option. We came in as a party of 2 a little early for dinner at 5pm on a Friday because other reviews mentioned a long wait time. I was still surprised at how many tables were filled when we got there, perhaps they all had the same strategy! We were seated right away and were in and out in right about an hour, and by then there were 3 parties waiting when we left.
Naturally we both decided to do the AYCE menu. The variety of items on the menu were good with a mix of appetizers, rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and dessert, though I wish there had been more variety in the specialty rolls available. The quality of the rolls were good. The soy sauce on the table was unlabeled but it tasted like a weaker soy sauce to me.
Our waitress did not speak more than 5 words to us during our visit. I personally care more about quality of the food and prompt service than personal interaction, so this did not bother me, but noting it for those who seek a more traditional sit down experience. It is a fast paced environment at dinner so write down what you want and give the paper to them as they run by!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 2024Updated review1 check-in
Wrote my original review on 2/15 and visited again on 2/23 and until then everything was just as good if not better than our first visit. However, went here for dinner with some friends last night and things have changed slightly.
The restaurant was still packed but compared to their original weeks of service, it was particularly slower and the waitress was not as welcoming or attentive as the other 2 times we had visited here. With that said, there was a help wanted sign so maybe they were short staffed and/or the staff working had been working longer than usual shifts. They've managed to keep the price at $21.99 but we did notice that the maki rolls had doubled with much more rice! Please warned so that you do not over order and find yourself unable to finish everything! Let's end on a high note, the Yaki Beef skewers are really flavorful and tender!! Don't sleep on this one!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 15, 2024Previous reviewThis is a new AYCE sushi spot that just opened up in Glen Burnie and honestly, it's the best!!
In addition to offering sushi, they also offer a range of other dishes such as Udon, various apps and desserts. For all of those options for now, it's only $22!!! I am not sure if this is a grand opening price and if it will increase.
We got a variety of rolls, handrolls, nigiri, soup, apps, dessert, and the udon noodles and I could not tell you which one I loved more. They were all well prepared and the meat ratio was generous. I will say that I wish the rice ratio for the Nigiri was smaller.
The service was also amazing! Our server was prompt and vibed well with us! She thought we made a mistake on our order form and when we finished our rolls quickly, she laughed and was shocked.
If you choose to go here don't let the location fool you. It is located in a strip mall and while the exterior may seem questionable, the ambiance inside is nothing but Zen. There are bout 10 tables inside and a bar area. I can't say this place is suited for too large of a crowd but it can take on parties of about 8-10 comfortably. - Feb 19, 2024
This is an AYCE sushi spot. You order and they make it on the spot. I came here on a busy Friday evening and did not call ahead to be put on the waitlist. The wait was almost 2 hours, but well worth it considering all of the food you get for $25. The highlights include the galbi, salmon teriyaki, shrimp tempura, white tuna + salmon sashimi, Glen Burnie, Fukuya and the Salmon lover rolls were delicious.
The ambience here is nice as well. Seating can be a little tight, but it's a long hallway full of tables for a party of 4. Fish was fresh and the hot dishes were good. Don't expect a long wait between dishes. The servers were attentive and patient with our orders. You get a nice variety of menu items to choose from.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 12224161Mar 3, 2024
This is an AYCE Japanese restaurant, which I don't think we have another one in DMV area.
We went there are a weekend lunch. The price is $21.99 per person. We add two sodas (refillable) for $2.50/person.
The sushi and sashimi is at my expectation. Good quality compare to any regular sushi restaurant. I will recommend their Eel sushi and sashimi, yellow tail maki, and salmon sashimi (I am a huge fan of salmon).
I will also highly recommend their teriyaki chicken and beef for hot items. These are way better than any teriyaki entrees you can get from mall food court or Quickway. Tender, flavorful, balanced, but not salty or overly sweet. Base on the quality, I think it worths every penny to order to-go items.
The dinning area is a little small. You might want to be there a little early to avoid waiting. The food comes out pretty quick.
But be sure to order carefully, especially the maki and special rolls. They are full-size with 6-8 pieces per order. In general, these special rolls are fine, but I don't think their special rolls are as impressive as their other menu items.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
