Basic service requested with appointment. Basically, I was ignored while regular patrons were serviced. Very different from former owners who were warm and welcoming. Will not return.

I scheduled a gel manicure and pedicure a little over a week ago for myself. My baby shower is this weekend and I wanted to treat myself to a nice spa day. Yesterday, I called to add a friend on for a gel pedicure and my appointment was updated.
I arrived before my scheduled time of 3:00 pm today and mentioned who I was. I was greeted, but no one had gotten up to show me the gel colors that I could look at. I waited for my friend, who arrived shortly after.
There were three workers; each with someone in their pedicure chair and a woman at the manicure table. My friend and I waited. Another woman walked in and she was greeted warmly because she probably comes in often. She was told the wait could be 30 minutes so she waited for a bit, then decided to come back.
My friend and I were finally brought over to the pedicure chairs about a half hour after the scheduled 3:00 pm appointment. We were handed a menu to choose a pedicure and chatting as one of the workers came over. Since we were talking, she decided to come back to us. However, in that time, another regular walked in and was started immediately with a pedicure and the start of her manicure.
My mother-in-law had walked in about 3:50 pm to see if she could join us and I told her that we hadn't even started. There was no water in the pedicure basin, no one had attended to us, and we were still waiting. My mother-in-law left and finally at 4:00 pm (an hour after my set appointment time), the gel pedicure began.
The process was rushed and not relaxing as it should be. More people had walked in; some stayed and some left, but clearly, the volume was more than the staff present. I felt awkward asking for a design with my gel manicure, which was next, because I could tell the worker was disinterested and overwhelmed.
When the spa gel pedicure was over, I moved on for the gel manicure. I had shown her a picture of what I wanted when I was sitting for my pedicure and she said she could do it. While doing my nails, she did not take the time to be detailed oriented. She was distracted with personal calls to her cell phone and another walk in asking for a phone charger.
The design was cute, but the overall service was sub-par. I am a good tipper and this worker was not warm to me at all. My friend tried to pay with a card for her gel pedicure and the worker mentioned the card reader was not running the transaction. My friend had to get money out of the ATM to pay. When we left, my friend got two notifications from her bank that the card was pending two charges from the nail salon.
We walked back in and the worker stated that the printer paper was out. She voided the two transactions, but on the receipt, the card had been approved both times. She wanted my friend to sign the copies and my friend declined. She took a copy of the receipt to dispute with the bank if the cards went through after she had paid in cash.
Overall, the experience was something else. What should have been a fun day turned out to be the opposite. I have been to this nail salon often and did not feel like I was welcomed today. The staff was clearly overwhelmed, but I had taken the time to make an appointment, update the appointment, and arrive early. It didn't seem like any of that mattered. The experience was unacceptable. Unfortunately, even though I live close, I will be finding a different salon to do business at. It is really a shame.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Natasha B.NY, NY52Jun 18, 2021
My family and I absolutely love this place! They always do a great job and it's a very clean, relaxing and friendly environment. Thank you, ladies, for always providing excellent service! It's always appreciated!

To be fair, my sister and daughter were happy with their nails. They got basic manis & pedis and we're pleased with the service.
I on the other hand asked for a metallic gel polish which is a service that other salons have declined to do when they did not have a trained manicurist to perform the manicure. At G&G, they said they could do it. They clearly could not. Firstly, the base gel manicure was bubbly throughout the procedure after curing in the UV light. They had to redo over 50% of my fingers toward the end of the manicure. Not for the metallic look. The woman doing my nails clearly did not know how to use the metallic powder. She did one nail incorrectly which had to be removed. Then another woman came over to show her how to use the powder. She still couldn't get it right and ultimately someone else came over to finish the job. All the while, the final color did NOT match the original swatch I chose. The woman going my nails actually tried to convince me "they were close enough." I found this to be totally insulting. I have eyes! I know these are just nails, but nail salons are in the business of color. There is a reason there are 100 different shades of pink to choose from. Rather than consulting with me when they knew there was a problem they were problem solving with each other in a language their customer could not understand.
They ended up waiving the $10 up charge for the metallic finish but charged me for the gel manicure. In my opinion, they should not have charged me at all. Not happy at all.
Update: 6 hrs later, the metallic finish has chipped off more than one nail.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marissa P.Conway, SC7141Aug 14, 2019
I've been going here for two years now. Loved it. Suki & her husband always treated me lovely. My nails were always amazing. I got a new set on July 27th. I went on August 3rd & there were all new people in there. I was very disappointed & upset. The lady who did my nails filed them soo much & I have tips with gel. All of them are cracked which shouldn't happen with a new set. But she also did not know. Will sadly not be returning since its under new management. Upset to have spent $70 on a set to have them ruined by the new owners.

Reasons not to come back:
1) Nails were snagging on things as soon as I left the salon. A super coarse file was all that was used.
2) Nails were uneven in length. The two thumbs have about a quarter inch difference in length, which is more noticeable than you'd think.
3) Shaping the nails is inconsistent- some nails have squared off corners, other have rounded. Some individual nails even have both.
4) Pedicures end up with nails trimmed deep into the nail beds and at angles instead of straight across, anticipate ingrown nails.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Samantha L.New York, NY18655128May 30, 2016
This is the second time I've been to this salon, I didn't enjoy the first time I came here because I felt rushed. Today however it was quite there and I didn't feel like I was just taking up a seat. I can't say I'll go back but if you need a quick mani/pedi locally then it's one of the less "pushier" options in town.

Love the place before because they are clean, amigable, the owner is a nice person but lately they rush to much. I don't like pedicures for 5 minutes I'm so disappointed never want to comeback, the money is not worth the time, those girls spend not enough time doing a pedicure.

This place is crazy busy but all you have to do to get ahead of everyone waiting is to call if you call and say you want an appointment time in a few minutes they will say yes and when you walk in you bypass everyone who has been patiently waiting, This is not right but they don't care I walked out after seeing people get taken before me as I was waiting

The staff was very attentive and sweet. Large color selection and most importantly the place is clean! I will definitely be returning for my next pedicure.
