Established in 1948. Taylor's locksmiths was started in 1948 by John Taylor of Gateshead. John served his country in the 2nd world war as a code breaker and lock specialist for the military. Once John had left the army he set about selling safes to local businesses in Gateshead and Newcastle but found that as locks changed over time his service was invaluable. John was the first locksmith in Gateshead and still to this day it is a family run business, ran by the Taylor family. We are a father, son and daughter business. Today we are now a mobile locksmith business that covers, Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland, Sunderland and Durham. John always made his business with local people in the community count, he truly believed in a strong community that did a favour for a favour and we still do.
