Very glad we gave this place a try. My husband's family is from Ecuador so we know the food and this place is doing it well. Everything we ordered was perfectly cooked and flavored. Very authentic. The ladies serving were great and very attentive. I will definitely be back when I want authentic Ecuadorian food and don't want to cook it myself. Only tip they don't serve alcohol (don't know why...a nice beer with this food would be amazing) and bring cash they do not take credit cards.

This place had the best chicken stew I ever had on my life ! Everything was full of flavor and I would love to come back and try new things here. I also loved the blackberry juice ! It was so fresh and delicious yum !!!!

I have come here multiple times and I must say it was good. Now I have ordered many different dishes. Also I know Ecuadorian food, my parents are from Ecuador and I have visited Ecuador myself. I have gotten the seafood soup, my niece usually orders beef and rice and beans. My sister and mom usually get the bollo and I got the cazuela. Now the bollo de pescado is always good but the cazuela was not good; it was too watery and the consistency was not what I am use to. I have also had the encellado which was good. I also had the naranjilla juice and the tostones. The service is always good and chifles are always delicious. They give you some rice as a table offering. I plan to try the whole menu and will update the review as I try their dishes. So far, the only bad dish has been the cazuela.

2 stars for the caldo de bola, that was alright. Arroz Marinero was hard, and the ceviche weirdly sweet. Would not recommend and wouldn't come back.

Delicious food from all the regions of Ecuador, very nice people, authentic vibe with many Ecuadorians eating here and even traveling far from other parts of the city just to eat here. Plenty of good conversations to be had also. Recommended!

Love going to Genesis for authentic Ecuadorian food. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. I get the Ceviche de Pescado encurtido every time I go, it's a sour dish that goes well with white rice and tostones. I've been going here since I was a toddler and can honestly say everything taste amazing.

Finding authentic Ecuadorian food in Manhattan is HARD. This place nails it, right down to having manzana in the fridge.
The prices are affordable and the vibe is comfortable and casual. This isn't a super formal place and I've never needed a reservation. I don't even think they take reservations.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Carlos G.Wappingers Falls, NY22634Jul 11, 2021
Best Ecuadorian restaurant in Manhattan I had a escudo, bollon de maduro mixto, and black Berry juice (mora) excellent food taste fresh and authentic. If you live in Manhattan no need to go to queens any more this spot is legit. The service is also great. If I had to say a negative thing was that it gets super busy so wait times can be long

This Ecuadorian Restaurant located on 207th Street in Inwood is truly authentic. The food is outstanding and the service friendly. The Seco de Chivo, Guaita and Caldo de Salchicha are like my grandmother used to make. Each Sunday we make our way from Queens to Upper Manhattan to experience what Ecuadorian food should taste like. You can even get some great homemade picante to take home. It's super fresh and very spicey. Highly recommend Genesis!

Most authentic and delicious Ecuadorian food I have had. One of my go-to spots in Washington Heights. Please stop by and try the stews. The interior is nothing special, but the food is mouth-watering and authentic. Could not recommend this place more. Cash only though.
