Gold Coast Tree Service

I recently contacted this company for a free estimate regarding options for our HOA. Unfortunately, my experience with Mike Sokoloff, an employee of the company, was incredibly disappointing. When I inquired about different options, Mr. Sokoloff displayed unprofessional behavior, becoming belligerent and exceedingly rude. Moreover, he outright said he didn't want to do the job. This encounter left us with the impression that this company does not prioritize professionalism or customer service. Based on this interaction, we have decided never to use their services.

Thanks so much Gold Coast Tree Service! I just wanted to post how awesome Mike and his team from Gold Coast Tree Service is. They just did an amazing job on these really large trees that were hazardous and causing all sorts of damage to their surrounding environment they brought cranes and their large crew surgically removed these huge eucalyptus trees and no damage was created and they did it in record time with absolute professionalism this is an amazing crew and I highly recommend Gold Coast tree service!

I highly recommend this company. They removed 3 trees and trimmed 5 others on my property. The owner, Mike, came over to see what I needed and gave me a reasonable quote. I could tell right away he knows his stuff and he answered all my questions. I had wanted root grinding for a certain tree but he told me its better not to do that since it would probably kill another tree that was near it. His quote was much less than the one I got from a smaller outfit that had left a flyer in my driveway and who did not seem to know anything about trees. The crew arrived on time and had a guy in charge who spoke English and was polite and professional. The work was expertly performed. I would not think of using any other company next time I need tree work done.

I have 2 40' eucalyptus in my backyard. My home is single level and my yard is small. I also have an elevated out building with a fragile roof.
Gold Coast's owner came in to give an appraisal. He gave me some tree knowledge and I booked an appointment for a couple of months out.
Yolie in the office is very polite and has excellent communication skills. She had answers to all of my questions and forwarded me information that I requested.

Keep in mind I have had my trees trimmed regularly since 1997. I know what good work looks like.
This is my first time with Goldcoast Tree Service.
The crew was led by Mario. We had conversation before the work started. He was patient, kind and made sure we were on the same page. I left the property.
Very soon they called me to come and see the work before they packed up.
The work was amazing. They removed all that I asked for. I can see that the trees will grow in well. I have two 4 level homes behind me. The trees were trimmed in a way that I will maintain a high level of privacy.
I have an outdoor shower and hot tub that I will continue to enjoy.

I'm very pleased with their work and recommend that should you need tree service give this company a call.

We had three huge podocarpus trees that grew until they were breaking up our adjacent cinder block wall. I called at least a half dozen companies and got quotes. I asked a lot of questions. Mike at Gold Coast not only had a really good price (as I found out) but he also provided some helpful advice about the broken wall and part of my house near the trees that looked like it was damaged. Jo Ann in the office was extremely helpful, responsive and efficient, taking care of things like forwarding proof of insurance, contacting utilities, etc. They came with a crane - they have their own, and didn't have to increase the price to rent one, like others did - because there was no other way to get to the trees. Unbelievable. They started at 7 am had the whole thing done by roughly 2 pm. I was impressed by every aspect of this company's work. I'm a real skeptic when it comes to contractors, but this company is stellar. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I called Gold Coast Tree Services because the trees by the side of my house were brushing up against and over the roof. After I explained this during the estimate, I was quoted $350 to do the job (their minimum) and I agreed.

The team showed up to do the job, and the first thing they tried to tell me was that the estimate did not include trimming the height of the trees (even though the branches were growing over my roof). After explaining to them that it didn't make sense to not trim the height of the tree (since it's a tree trimming service), the begrudgingly agreed.

I go back into the house and less than 10 minutes later they knock on the door and say their done. That was fast...I go and check, and they completed butchered the tree. All they did was take a chainsaw to half the tree and left no green on it. Not only that, they only cut the part of the tree that was towards the side of the house and left the other half of the tree untouched. They left it looking like they gave my tree a comb-over. I couldn't believe the job they did. When I complained, they said that this was what I asked for. Look at the picture for yourself and see if this is anything you would expect when you get your tree trimmed. After complaining to the office, the owner refused to do anything. Terrible service and a complete rip-off.

We have used Gold Coast many times each time Mike has come out and gave us a fair price. Joanne will call you to schedule time and is always very accommodating, Joanne will also call in advance of appt to remind you.
Today the lead was Pepe and his crew , hard working, polite and very mindful of homeowners property. I can't recommend Gold Coast highly enough.

A big shoutout to Yolanda (office) & Mario (manager on site). They were both amazing at their respective jobs. Yolanda was extremely helpful with all the paperwork, scheduling etc.. Very professional.
Mario was extremely experienced at his job. Did not leave a single branch undone. Was very happy with the service, definitely recommend, and I will use them again.

I had used them before and was happy so I chose to go with them again and they didn't disappoint. I highly recommend them.

Jo Ann in the office provides amazing customer service. She worked with us continuously to schedule the tree trimming and make sure everything was completed satisfactorily. They did a great job trimming our trees.
